Weren't the parents there for 16 months? Cw never stepped up to the plate, sw had to shield him from financial decisions after he sold his vehicle for less than was owed on it. I can just see the grin of satisfaction as he came home with that great news.
Fact is he could have stepped up to contribute more, yet he let his wife work so much harder. He had the skill set that would have allowed him to bring in significant extra money, had he felt like it, especially in an area with a vibrant oil & gas industry. My own Dad did that when possible, I at times had more than one job, my husband pulled his weight and most ppl I know stepped up to the plate to help their families thru tough spots. But cw gets pass after pass after pass, he gets to slide, creates a vacuum so other people have to carry his weight and then he murders his own BABIES, because he feels some stress in his extra-marital hanky panky. I see that the leader of the cw cult fan site is applauding that cw will be a great counselor in prison to other poor men who were subject to spousal abuse. (Yep, honest)
I respect your opinion, but will disagree with your findings.

No, I said in my response, it was a typo. He didn't spend it with NK but did meet up with the Thayers on the 4th. Discovery page 369 (or there abouts).
Okay, thanks for clarifying...

Trying not to use as many words as I usually do, here's my (possibly old-fashioned) take on this:
When a family is in financial trouble, the one who can get away the easiest due to not having primary responsibility for kids and pregnancy, without the illness, the one with the superior earning capability in a trade under constant demand in an industry with oil/gas/fracking/multitude of high end suburbs needing mechanical services...... THAT ONE should be the one to high tail it into a part time job to support the family.

I'll just leave it at that, I know I'll never change my mind. The guy was a robot who had no initiative. A few wires in his childhood not soldered correctly.

JMO, the pay cut for him occurred when he was still at the car dealership, in 2014, when Bella was a baby. I don't know when Shanann left her employment at the hospital, but I believe she was working at the hospital in 2014 and was making around $35,000 a year.

They had a nearly $60,000 drop in income from 2013 to 2014 and by the time Celeste was born in 2015, which was when they declared bankruptcy, he was working at Anadarko, and the total drop in income from 2013 was over $100,000. They were down to around $40,000 in income that year and Shanann was having a difficult pregnancy with CeCe. Shanann's parents were living with them around that time. to help.

At the time of the murders, CW and Shanann's incomes were about the same, per CW. If they were each making $60,000 to $70,000 per year, that's a total income of between $120,000 to $140,000. JMO.
BBM: My notes say per her FB - 2017 - she left the call center after 4 years to be home with her babies and pursue LeVel full-time. Paraphrased and no link, so JMO.

Children need their parents. If in financial trouble, change the spending. If a family is looking at loss of basics then dramatic measures are needed.

But to keep up luxury cars, clothes, giant home seems sad to me.

He is a killer. Making more money to support a lifestyle would not change the fact that he is a killler.

*waves to everyone* My first post on Websleuths and as I have been hitting ‘like’ on almost everything @NuttMegg posts, I wanted to say hello. I only recently learned of Shannan, Nico, Bella and Celeste and after accidentally stumbling into - and straight out of - an anti-SW/pro-CW channel on YouTube, I am glad to find a site that treats Shannan with the respect and compassion she deserves.

Yes you found the right spot here at WS. Welcome!

Here’s my thought on the affair/being a mistress.
Even if she admitted to fully knowing he was married and had the affair anyway, I think public opinion of her would have been different if there was any remorse or empathy for Shannan and the girls or ANYONE other than herself. Yes, of course there would have always been people calling her names. But if she said “yes, I knew. And I’m so sorry. And I never imagined this would happen. How can I help? What can I do to help?” What would have been the outcome?
Instead, she plopped down into that interview chair, talked endlessly about her macros, whines about her cold, sneered about Shannans home and finances, made fun of her job. Called her best friend whose father just died “retarded”. She only showed concern for herself. She got ahead of it all and deleted evidence. She had a fake lying glossy spread in a newspaper to try to make herself look good. She cared about nothing, not one thing or person, other than herself and possible book deals and finances, and diet, and public opinion.
She’s not a good person. And it isn’t JUST because of the affair. That is one drop in the bucket of her wretchedness. If she had just admitted it, showed remorse and concern, helped, I wouldn’t think as poorly of her. But she didn’t. I could have overlooked the affair if she had had any kind of emotion about what happened. But she didn’t.

SBBM - How did you come to that conclusion? In the prison interview CW stated that SW's parents both worked whilst they were in Colorado and that they decided to go back to NC because they couldn't sell their house. Therefore, I think CW would have spent his evening caring for the girls and Shanann.
Not sure how you have arrived at your conclusions, either.

That is nice of you to say. But go back and read all the threads, my posts are mostly a merger or amalgam what we've all been saying, I borrow freely from all the other posters, rephrased or verbatim, then add a few more indignant, judgmental words to express my own opinion like we all do. From an old lady who's mostly "seen it all". :):):)

Thank you! So this means she was working at the call center until 2017? The article I posted indicated she was making around $35,000 a year at the call center. The article references fiscal year, and not calendar year, fiscal year 2015 is when their income was down to around $40,000. If Shanann was still working at the call center, then someone else wasn't working or wasn't working very much, IMO.

I agree with this. They had ginormous house with cameras/ security system, a luxury SUV, expensive stuff. I don’t think the only answer was to work more so they could buy more. They could have also lived more modestly.

I thought until last summer that CW was reported to be a good dad and husband. Shannan had videos of him playing with the girls, braiding hair, they had good friends and family. Are you guys saying he was lazy and not providing enough for his family?

(All of his infidelities - summer 2018 behavior not included of course)

Also, other than CW, do we have any confirmation of what kind of money SW was bringing in? I don’t even care what the amount is really, I just want to know if there is anything artifact in evidence to back up the $60-70k salary number claimed by CW.

If you listen to CW's prison interview, he says it himself.

Yes I know, I did hear that. do we have any other source for what her income was, beyond what the lying and ignorant CW claims?

Not sure exactly why you want a source for Shanann's income at the time of her murder? Shannan is a murder victim. CW is the convicted and admitted murderer of all four.

People are referring to CW statements of her salary as fact. I don’t think we can trust a word he says.
I’m just asking if we have any other source. This is because folks were saying she made so much more money than CW salary, for which we have his income statements from Andarko (artifact)

I know she is a murder victim, is discussion of evidence of her salary against TOS?

I posted income information that came from msm, and public record from 2015 was the source of that information. For many months there has been discussion here about possible red flags in CW, that go back in time.

What he stated in his prison interview has been discussed, and JMO, I know he told the truth about at least one thing and that is that he murdered all of them, and I'm going to leave it at that.

Folks who don't pay their bills on time are infinitely preferable to psychopaths who murder their kids. Even if SW had been more financially responsible, her psychopathic husband still would have found his psychopathic soulmate and done away with his family for his own selfish reasons.

JMO, but it seems rather pointless to talk about delinquent dues, etc when CW would have squandered any proceeds from the house on a luxury SUV, along with jewelry, travel and entertainment for his new girlfriend. CW could have taken a more active role in their finances, but he just didn't care. He didn't want to waste his money and time on his kids when he was done with that family, so he murdered them.

ETA.
Chris Watts Confessed To Murdering His Family. These Women Think There's More To The Story.
Cristina, a mother and seasonal worker in Maine, had been spending over eight hours a day on the Chris Watts Facebook group for months.
Maybe people who spend eight hours a day for months trying to rationalize a psychopathic killer's actions shouldn't question too strongly the murder victim's lifestyle and means of supporting her family.
