Hard to say she did it when he was seen at birthday party with kids before she ever got home. I don't think anyone would buy she got dropped off at home at 2am and proceeded to go strangle her kids in their beds. I don't think this will be the defense because there is no real even slightly believable story there.

I know women 15 weeks pregnant still running half marathons (or longer) . Pregnancy doesn't equal incapacitation.....especially if you're Thriving!

Point on! She had spent 6 weeks away from him. Was with him a day or two and off again. She was clearly starting to emotionally separate herself from him, working in to being away from him. His thoughts may have been, "You are not leaving me. And you are not taking my kids. The doll is awful. I think that was a veiled threat.

I think he is going to plead not guilty at first and then come to a deal for first degree murder, OR he will try for insanity which will not work.

He confessed. The media reports plus the timing, plus his own family's silence all along and now, make that pretty clear.

They may subtly try to blame her as "driving" him crazy but I'm kind of surprised so many are jumping to him doing a 180.

Reports are that his family came into town, he talked to them and they encouraged him to go to police and confess.

I see nothing that indicates this isn't true and nothing that indicates he's recanted or is going to.

Am I missing something?

The doll occurred while Shanann was home with the kids. She took the picture, posted the picture and commented on the picture. Her family commented on the picture. I can see myself doing something similar.

In hindsight, maybe it was a little creepy. Maybe it was something the girls had seen and were emulating. However, odds are it was just girls playing and nothing more. It 100% was Shanann who was there when it happened however, that is made clear by the post and comments.

Charges filed Monday, hearing Tuesday for him to be read the formal charged filed against him. Girls were found Thursday.

I was reading the post in the thread back about reasons why men kill their family, and then someone mentioned a video saying the new baby was probably planned due to the Facebook video. I have had medical issues that make pregnancy risky, however I have delivered four healthy babies. But it got me thinking- maybe the baby wasn’t planned, he was having an affair or even in the “pre-mindset” to, and because she was taking the THRIVE, which due to the ingredients I imagine can cause issues with fetal development, there was talk about the risk of carrying the pregnancy. So, that could be why she said that he made her “brave enough” to have a 3rd child. Maybe she was scared that something could be wrong. Maybe he just didn’t want any part of it and was wanting to leave anyway, then the thought of another child made him snap.

Shanann was posting #safeduringpregnancy and #doctorapproved so I don't think she was concerned there was anything wrong. I think she was probably nervous about another baby while they were having issues and he convinced her it would fix everything.

I was thinking about this also, I know when you are up in age as I am the doctors tell you to stay away from all these new diet loss energy things.
So how was that safe for a pregnant woman?

It simply was not.

Absolutely. He seems diabolical enough to take the children’s hands after death and scratch their mother. I have a feeling this is all far more twisted than it already looks.

He does seem diabolical enough, but I'm not sure he is smart enough. He overlooked so many other little details... I'd be surprised if he got this one right.

I've seen this first hand from someone I thought was gentle and kind "nice guy."
His face contorted into a horrific look reminded me of Ted Bundy when he lost it in court.
I never trusted him from that day forth. The amount of rage to a perceived slight was off the charts.

Totally my FIL. Never liked the man from the day I met him. The feeling was mutual. He could tell I wasn't falling for his act. He once threatened to break my expensive camera because I took pictures of my kids in his home. 13 years later he got caught with his multiple mistresses.

After the divorce everyone eventually came around to my opinion. He got rid of everything that meant anything to his kids, hasn't seen his grandkids in years, his only daughter has disowned him and he's remarried and taken on her family.

Luckily he married someone only after his money... so at least neither is really a victim in the situation.

Yup, his childhood would bring up some not so surprising but
very embarrassing details about his family.
Mommie Dearest comes to mind.

I do hope we learn more there. I am saving my sympathy for Shanann's family right now.

The charges and the court date are two separate things. The DA has until 3:30 on Monday to formally charge him. Once charged, he needs to appear in court similar to his first court proceeding. That will happen on Tuesday at 10:00. They set that time in the first court appearance.



It worked for Casey Anthony! Bringing up alleged sexual abuse by her father as a surprise defense in court.

Casey Anthony is one horrible case among thousands. It really hasn't been replicated, especially now that judges are less inclined to sequester juries.
