When asked how long she had been missing, BM pauses for a long moment then talks with detail about why he was in Denver. That, to me, is a strange answer.
Ita.
Also keep in mind that LE wanted people to keep their security footage from the 8th....

  • #402
How long before someone noticed she was gone? Barry; Well it was mothers day uhm................ (biggest pause ever) <-- From the video of the footage of Barry.

That i find a red flag. Imo

Not to mention, AFTER your wife is supposedly abducted by a stranger and a stranger appears and you’re telling him EVERYTHING???? I would be SO SUSPICIOUS of every stranger IF I believed that had happened to my loved one. How many times have we heard, a killer often returns to scene of the crime.
Actually, he told him nothing of value. moo

I've listened to it a couple of times and still don't know what to think. My initial reaction was he was being largely truthful (but exaggerating), but the more I listen (and the more I read comments) the more questions I have. However, regardless, I do think that there are probably more truths in here than lies - so I wanted to look at it from the lens of "what if BM is telling the truth?

The bike was found near the road in a ravine (not on a bridge, not up the mountain on a path). LE found a personal item along that same road some distance away. Obviously LE knows if this is true or not.

Clearly the animal attack narrative (per the email to the church) came from BM. It sounds like BM is still holding to that as a possibility, despite LEs statement that it was "unlikely".

BM believes LE mishandled the scene around the bike. This might explain TNs statement about "ask the sheriff" re: the condition of the bike. It could also explain why LE has been so tight-lipped about the the bike. Obviously LE knows if this is true or not.

BM also appears to be holding onto the abduction possibility. That's not surprising given the video and lack of other alternative plausible theories.

We potentially learned quite a bit about BMs alleged whereabouts on Sunday. I didn't hear him actually state when he left home, but believe he implies it was on Sunday (which would also imply he very well could have been the last person to see SM alive). He also states the plan was for the daughters to be back earlier in the day to spend time with SM, that they were delayed and texted SM. It's when they didn't hear back that they became concerned and called the neighbor. He indicates he was in the communication loop and actually suggested that they call the police. He says he got home around 9 pm, which fits fairly closely with heading home around the time the call to the police was made. There is a lot of detail in that narrative that could be corroborated or refuted based on cell records, interviewing the neighbor, daughters and others who may have been on the camping trip.

I think it's interesting that BM says "they told me I'm cleared". Obviously LE knows if that is true - and if they in fact told him that, why hasn't LE announced it? They were quick to announce the landowner had no ties to the case....

I guess what I take from all of it is even if everything BM said is true - well, minus the clear exaggerations like the 200 mile radius search area - I don't think there's anything in here that is a revelation that actually clears him (knowing that the bike could have been staged). Much of what BM said is verifiable by LE and, if true, certainly lends credibility to the argument that it could have been an animal attack, accident, or abduction. But if BM is lying in the video, that would cast much more suspicion on him. Time will tell......

The video is certainly interesting even though I dislike the dishonesty involved. At least we have something to discuss.

Its strange that Tyson says in the first video that he thinks BLM is watching him (while he is videotapng himself) and yet BLM still comes and talks to him? It’s all a bit odd. IMO. No real point. Just musing “out loud.”

I completely agree.

RSBM
I don't know, my take on this video is, first, it was very dishonest on the part of the YouTuber. If he posted somewhere that he "accidentally" recorded him, that's a bunch of carp. He kept checking his pocket, and he admitted at the end of the video that he was purposely recording, by saying he hoped the camera had picked up some particular part of the "interview".

As for BM, I don't know...I'm certainly not convinced he's innocent, but it does give a different picture of him than the FB video.

Edited for clarity because my brain is apparently mush tonight.

I keep seeing post after post talking about the video guy being dishonest. Where? Can someone post at what minute marker they are talking about as the only reference to such in the transcript that mentions anything remotely to what folks are saying again and again is

"10:08 i don't know if the camera picked it up
10:09or not but he said if i'm with the news
10:11media he's going to come after me"

Folks are saying he lied about filming... TIA

At about 4:30 - when his mom moves the truck - There is a lot of missed dialogue due to noise and BLM is saying they have to investigate him. Tyson says, “get your name cleared,” and BLM says, “they told me it’s cleared”. Anyone else hear this? (Clearly I did not go to bed.).
bbm
Good catch !
Who is "they" ?
LE ?
And no, I don't believe LE told him anything of the sort.
They haven't divulged a single tip tip BM ; they're just going to let him sweat and become more frustrated and maybe he'll blurt out even more information to the next person who talks to him ?

<modsnip: Do not use derogatory names for any case players or their relatives>
Imo.

Ha, only if he didnt think you were from the media, hmmm why doesnt he want the media publicising his missing wife.
I didn't take that from this. I think he was quite open and didn't want to feel used (for want of a better word).

  • #408
I'm curious too, what was he doing out there today?
To anyone's recollection. Has LE ever found a body, but not announced it right away?
Something bugging me about the rumor earlier today and the timing of this video with Barry spilling his guts to a stranger.
The rumor of finding a body would certainly send most people out into the public to seek more information especially IF that person is not working with LE or believes LE would notify him of a discovery related to his missing wife.
IF you heard a body was found, how would you know WHERE to go to find the cops and possibly media that would be present at the location? Were they just out driving around looking for a big crowd of LE vehicles and officers?
For an “isolated” area they seem to have a lot of traffic, in my opinion. Not a good location for an abduction.

I’m not surprised at all SM family does not know what the personal item is. But then again typing that, how were they able to confirm it belonged to her?
The item may have had her name or initials on it perhaps?

I watched the video, not sure what to think, but did notice two things:

He doesnt appear to have a wedding band on (40 sec mark of video). Not sure if he normally wears one or not (SM has a big rock). Not sure if that means anything, simply an observation.

Also, the exaggerations. As mentioned, 400 deployments? Did he say they searched a 200 mile radius? If I remember geometry correctly, isn't that around 125,000 square miles? Um, not possible. Not at all.

Beyond that I lean more toward not believable, but without a baseline it's hard to know...MOO

Interesting as to wedding ring, but many folks in construction don't, or wear silicone ones these days. Wonder if this is a change? Only the family would know. I don't know if there are social media or other stuff allowed by TOS here to compare to.

Screen shot from the link at the mark you mentioned for those that cannot easily view on phones etc.

ETA: Osu found such photo of wearing a wedding ring previously, but not on the one from Youtube video

Photo of BM wearing a wedding band.

Here we are again with that word "charming" ...it's come up in a couple of threads regarding BM.

I have posted before the use of Charming here is an apt descriptor for BM.

And one of the definitions of charming
Control or achieve by or as if by magic. "pretending to charm a cobra" · "she will charm your warts away"

And the #1 word used by folks re Ted Bundy was he was charming. It's a characteristic of a certain type

In the first ten seconds. ETA: BM points to what we know is the camera and asks TD to put that away, TD says "it's not even on."

seems to me BM is trashing LE because he's squirming since they've possibly pointed their fingers at him. Remember the quotes from LE in one of their first pc's. When asked by a reporter if BM was co-operating w/ LE,
LE said, "He is co-operating, FOR NOW. And we HOPE he continues to do so."
Shortly after, it was reported he lawyered up.
My guess is he also stopped co-operating.
BM is on the defensive now so he's deflecting to many other diversionary stories.
LE is on this and BM is the target.
Just a matter of time.
Tick-Tock.
bbm
Thanks !
I completely missed that "For now" part.
Whooaahhh.

He did not know the guy was filing him.

Did you see the video from the previous day by the same YouTuber? Barry came upon him driving within 8 feet while the YouTubers was holding his arms up walking within 50 feet of Barry's truck prior to Barry getting in the truck and then passing him by.

He knew that person was filming from the day before, which is the second YouTube.

Moo, 100% he knew he would be at least recorded or filmed, and used this to get his side of the story out.

Just listen to what he says... he's spinning...

I think this is all a little too convenient. I'm sorry, but I'm just not buying it. I think the whole thing was staged. He discusses A LOT of things that have been asked about and/or speculated...
1. when he arrived back from Denver
2. why he was in Denver
3. who he was in Denver with (his workers)
4. how and when the neighbor was called and SM reported "missing"
5. the daughters were late in coming home
6. where the bike was found
7. who has been looking for SM (friends came in from out of town and hired "own people")
8. theory on "what happened" mountain lion snatched her
9. where the mountain lions take their prey
10. that a personal item was found and where the item was found
11. and last but not least, that LE (specifically Sheriff's office screwed up) because they let cars and people walk in the area of interest
I know I missed some other points because I only listened to it once. Seems REALLY convenient to me and I am not buying it. BM seems pretty street smart to me. He is going to talk to this guy randomly and engage in this full-on convo and re-hash all these details??? Nope. JMO

ETA: Ahhh....the bike. If indeed, the bike was mis-handled, that is not going to be good for the investigation. But I really do think the bike has been a diversion from the beginning. BM really wants to steer us in that direction.
After re-watching the video this morning. If some random dude were in the area I believed my wife was abducted from, saying he's from eastern Arizona and hoping he'd run into me.

I would give him the side-eye and call the cops to come question him. The guy has Arizona plates, isn't from the area, and is asking questions about what the cops found. BM doesn't have spidy senses? Or is he only concerned about the media?

I agree, the one instant I thought he was being truthful. A detail he missed, which might be what’s driving him crazy, keeping him up at night ... what did LE find? He should know to some extent whether it was her phone, a necklace, etc ... but it may really irritate him that LE won’t tell him, which is why he speaks derogatorily about them.

Thank you for providing the YouTube transcription of the video. Very helpful!

One thing I heard last night but I don’t know if it’s been mentioned is when BM mentions finding clothing at the lake.

@ 5:49 on the video

(BM is referring to Foose’s Lake)

BM: “We have found men’s clothing..we found a group of women’s clothes up by the lake..”

It seemed like BM's truck was empty, he was parked, shirtless then came back, with Mom, dressed. moo
Thx Paula, for clearing that up for me. That makes it even more weird, if his mom wasn't there when he was first seen. Moo

1:15 mark on the video

We thought maybe she wrecked..coming down this hill..a car coming around the corner real fast and maybe was disoriented and got in the river”

Great catch, osu !
BM's 'interview' reminds me of L.Stauch and her 'over explaining ' things she didn't need to describe.
:(

Graphic comment warning below :

IF foul play happened and if Suzanne was put into the river, as in her entire body or if someone burned her poor remains ---she may never be found and I think LE have considered this possibility, and are nevertheless aggressively (albeit incognito) pursuing justice even if it's a 'no body' case.
They are putting together a complicated puzzle, but I think they'll succeed .

I think L.E. will succeed as well. Why? Numbers don't lie. How many FBI? Why did they search the cement job if he was "cleared"?
