My apologies, I had posted earlier using AS, for comparison, and knew that AS wasn’t valid using Letecia, so I used Gannon.
Yes, I do know the difference between love for a spouse and a child, I sent my husband to war, 2 sons, and a daughter into war zones. Your comments were quite accurate, but they will never quite express it accurately, until you experience it, as you said. Or you stand with your son at a funeral for his friend who died there.
I apologize if I touched a raw nerve. I was not debating the degree of pain, I was trying to make the point that different people handle differently.
IMO we have compared BM to LS, a better comparison would be to consider that BM shares more characteristics with AS, MVHO.
Absolutely no offence taken. But for me, comparing BM to AS is like comparing apples to oranges. AS appeared a broken man, likely experiencing some level of guilt for what happened to Gannon, for trusting that woman TS with his children and then suffering the worst possible outcome, yet, he was in no way involved in GS’s death. BM OTOH, is still a huge question mark. His plea rang insincere, 26 second jumbled mess about abduction, then jumping from one possible scenario to the next during his “speak easy” with TD, a “soup” of possibilities, putting out his story but still SO MANY questions NOT asked, some not clearly answered to provide a concise timeline of events, leaving out pertinent details about how MD actually evolved from his departure to Denver to his 9 pm arrival home. No heartfelt plea, side by side with LE, like LH/AS or KB’s mom Cheryl. You could FEEL their pain. It was palpable. Not BM. Why? Because he’s a landscaper not an actor. He’s afraid to expose himself to hard questions that will surely come at the hands of a good journalist. He can’t risk that. What I wouldn’t give to have sat in on his first interview with LE. Likely a treasure trove of evasion. All speculation and JMHO.

It would be weird for BLM to be posting about his incredible wife-and her thanking him-if they were no longer living together. Yes, some former couples do get along but it doesn’t feel like that was it.
So BLM needs a Colorado driver’s license to become a volunteer firefighter, but I guess he never changed the license plates on his truck? Was that his truck? Somebody else’s truck?
If this was planned for a long time, BM may have started posting messages to look like the loving husband. It would be interesting to see how long this purportedly light social media user has been posting these messages.

I'm still trying to get a grasp on the concept of getting biking gloves on over a rock of that size. I don't wear any jewelry, and in winter I wear knitted gloves, so I'm really out of my element here. Is it painful? IMO
This would be a pain I think I would be able to endure. LOL I actually bought a ruby ring at an auction, it is exquisite. I knew the bids were incredibly low, etc. my husband was so convinced I had gotten scammed, he insisted I get another appraisal. The second appraisal came in considerably lower, but still 4 times what I paid, so he had to agree I was one astute buyer. Oh yeah, I wasn’t scammed by the high auctioneer appraisal, my guesstimate was pretty close to the 2nd appraisal.
Point to this, it is rather large. I am self conscious wearing it, and it would catch on gloves of any sort. I tuck it away most of the time, and wear my less expensive garnet ring that is much less conspicuous, and matches my jeans and tshirts.
I bought it w/ a very small inheritance from my mother, and had been looking for something special to remember her by. Probably give it to my only granddaughter, especially since HER mother dragged us to the auction in the first place.
IMO this diamond is the only extravagance I have seen, from the Ms. her parents appeared wealthy, perhaps she inherited it.
They have celebrated 25 plus 2 years of marriage. Could have been an anniversary gift. I don’t wear a lot of my jewelry, perhaps SM didn’t either.
I could certainly see it as a temptation for muggers, and that is why I personally prefer to wear my less expensive jewelry in public.
Salidas is a small town, but I suspect some wealthy people among the locals. I don’t think we will be able to figure this one out, w/ the info we have. I sincerely hope it isn’t in mountain lion poop somewhere. (Poor attempt at humor , NTL I had that thought many threads ago.

Or possibly an effort to save a marriage that was having troubles.

The ring in my opinion means nothing. The current location of it might be a puzzle piece, though.

I feel like this case is fading away. I don’t expect a bombshell arrest or any arrest at all in the near future. I don’t think SM will be found for some time, if ever. I also don’t think that LE will be the ones that find her. A hiker somewhere will stumble across something that will be traced back to her, and call it in. Unless they have some good evidence that they can present for an arrest that will turn into an indictment, LE will just wait. I don’t think the public at large is in any danger if an arrest is not made at this time.

Spontaneous random thought ..... why didn't BM say to TD how odd it was that the bike was found where it was? He seemed very accepting of its location. I have to say as soon as I saw where it was located, only seconds away from Hwy 50 I found it decidedly odd because it means she was either heading onto the Freeway to ride home, on that single lane where there's hardly any room for a bike, and big Mac trucks filling the lane ...... noooooo ..... or if she had just arrived from the Hwy 50 heading down to CR225 that makes no sense either. That hwy, who would choose to ride it for a Sunday ride to get to where she was ...... nooooo ...... the risk of being skittled ...... why didn't Barry mention this, just a thought, because now I know where everything's positioned that's the first thing I think of. End of spontaneous random thought.
Mountain biking is very different than typical roadway, pavement or cement trails and the bicycle has gearing for steep uphill climbs and descents. Thick knobby tires for mud and gravel as opposed to smooth road tires. Her home was only a short dirt road ride to the Colorado Trail system. No need to be on the highway and would be avoided on her type of bicycle

LE did use ground Penetrating Radar. The link below is an excellent, understandable explanation of the capabilities. Note that is does detect voids, either in concrete or in the soil up to 2 feet below. If LE was looking for all or part of a body, it would be a void that they were trying to find. The GPR appears to have told LE where to cut the concrete. In an earlier post, I pointed out that The hole created by LE appeared to be at least two feet deep, which would tend to make me believe LE exhausted every reasonable chance of finding what they were seeking.
In the news videos that I saw, it appeared to me that investigators were scraping up loose dirt off the ground around the concrete pad, placing it in buckets, and taking it to the excavated area under the tent to sift. I did not see them take the sifted dirt anywhere, so I'm thinking that perhaps LE carried dirt that they dug out of the hole to the raw dirt beyond the edges of the concrete pad, and what I observed was them returning it to be sifted and allowed to fall back into the hole.

Thanks for that informative article, @Dave F.
Here are also a couple with particular emphasis on how LE uses this technology.

Locating Bodies with GPR

Based on your thoughts, they did not locate a body in an area that appeared to have one of these “pockets”, did not see any other areas that looked promising, and so released the site back to the owners.
Another way of looking at this could be that they were never looking for a body there. They dug two feet and were attempting to find a certain small object. Maybe they found it, maybe they didn’t. LE wouldn’t tell us if it was anything other than SM’s body. (Just like the personal items found near Hwy 50, close to their home.)

I agree with your points about mountain biking.

From the TD video, it sounds to me like BM believes she was riding on the road. That surprised me, and struck me as odd.

Bike near the road is convenient for bike being found quickly. It also fits with a kidnapping theory. But it doesn’t fit well with mountain biking in general.

Such a strange TD encounter/video.
All the arm waving, blaming and scenarios put forth to a complete stranger make me even more suspicious of BM’s truth telling abilities so I’m questioning if that’s really where her bike was found? I don’t believe he was a mountain bicycling guy and possibly had no idea where she usually rode. Easily findable for the narrative?

I so agree. I had to watch it several times.

I was just taken back by the "arm waving blaming" and he never uses her name.

That video left me stunned and suspicious.

When I was racing mountain bikes I noticed that some of the other women racers cut out small holes in their cycling gloves for their rings if they had large stones. MOO

<modsnip: quoted post was removed>... folks look at the same information and often draw different conclusions. For instance, I think TN heard the bike had been found, but got no information about it’s condition. It appeared he was quite concerned about his aunt’s disappearance and was trying to find out anything he could about the circumstances. I don’t think there was any “diabolical plot” between BM and TN. I think it may have been just the opposite.
I, too, have heard of several cases where a person was knocked off a bike with a vehicle for the purpose of abduction, or a person was accidentally hit by a vehicle, the driver panicked, and left with the victim in their vehicle. In the SM case, I haven’t seen anywhere that it said the bike had received “substantial damage”. If, in fact, it had, I would be expecting a bolo from LE. There would be significant evidence on a bike hit by a vehicle vs a bike that had accidentally crashed. JMO

The exact path of the Colorado Trail varies slightly over time. In my last Google Earth Map (repeated below) the red line travels from SM's residence over to the current Highway 50 south trailhead of the Colorado Trail, and follows the Colorado Trail upward and toward the south. The trailhead is lowest tip of the red line, just above Hwy 50. The blue line is a very popular biking descent. The lower part, in this map, is the original Colorado trail. A popular alternate is to park at the original trailhead just below Fooses Lake Dam, cross the dam and join the current Colorado trail in the power line clear cut. IMO

If you look closely at the bottom point of the Colorado trail going southward on my Google map, you will see that directly opposite, on the north side of Hwy 50 (bottom side on the map) the is a squiggly faint path of switchbacks up the bare side of the mountain. That is the Colorado trail, heading toward Denver.
Back on the south side, when the red line leaves the map in the upper right (southwest direction) the Colorado Trail extends all the way to Durango, Colorado. IMO
