Why couldn't it be either? LE sure makes it look like the search is close to home, but if it's not BM, why can't it be someone Suzanne knew? Or someone who thought they knew Suzanne?

One reason I stopped working in mental health settings (as a consultant), is that a particular patient, once out of inpatient, began stalking me (and not just me, my whole family). I refused to believe it at first, but eventually it became obvious. Fortunately that happened before anything terrible occurred. So "stalker" is a real category and should not be dismissed in this case, unless they have strong evidence that it's someone known to one of the couple, not just BM.

There are no records of any independent searches carried out by the **** fund or the family, that I know of. Not anywhere. That's another oddity of this case.

There are two groups that don't want this in the public eye: LE and the Family.
I respect and value your experience tremendously, therefore you will have the ability to answer this...If LE had reason to believe this is a stalking abduction w/ chance that SM might still be alive, how do you think they should handle this?
Second question, if LE believes she has been taken by a known person w/ some mental instability, how might this affect publicity? Could too much attention stress such a person and endanger SM, under assumption she might be a prisoner? It would certainly explain lack of nation wide bolo, IMO.

Oh dear this will bring up the “its too soon” comment made to the reporter that we can’t find reference too now
5/14 ? Speculating of course
JMO
At least in this instance, we can all attest to DM reporting it on 5/14 as true!!

Except 11 days after the baby and Heidi went missing, the focus wasn’t clearly on the boyfriend. Instead, six days after the disappearance they had zeroed in on Mēgan Fieramusca based on surveillance video and a witness in the complex. 8 days after the disappearance they had found the baby and Heidi and arrested the weirdo.

In this case, AFTER the initial, preliminary search for her, they took control of the family home and held it, pursuant to a warrant. They held the home for a long period.

And 3 days after first holding the home per a search warrant, LE began excavating BM’s worksite.

Different cases.

Oh, I'm not implying the cases are the same. They are not. Let me explain what I meant.

After the boyfriend gave that disastrous TV interview, everyone was calling for his head. Why, why, why wasn't he arrested, we asked? He's obviously guilty, we said.

Well, NOW we know that LE had much more information that led in another direction. Very soon and away from the boyfriend. BUT ...the public didn't know any of that. LE could have announced before the friend's arrest that the boyfriend was already cleared. But they didn't.

That's why my perspective (from the outside looking in) was changed by Broussard. (R.I.P)

I know sometimes people can't bring themselves to speak on TV when a loved one is missing. Often the family will have a spokesperson to keep the word out.
If BM thought it was too soon for him to speak publicly then why not a spokesperson?
I'm trying to make sense out of something I can't make sense out of.
Perhaps there is something going on that we would need to know and then it might make sense.
The comment had me wondering if there's suspicion of her leaving on her own. That would make sense, that he needs to giver her more time.
But then in direct contradiction to that is LE pulling up that slab and sifting thru the dirt which I am expecting was dirt BM brought there.
And then of course, maybe BM was simply ill prepared to speak to the media. And apparently still is.

  • #165
Agreed.
BM was asked to give a statement or coordinate with LE early on but he said it was "Too soon", according to the media.
What's hard to understand at this point is that if a person is kidnapped (BM alluded to this by posting a reward and his video plea), you don't wait.
You get the word out via presser or talking to reporters asap.
...
Wouldn't it make sense to speak to LE or reporters and get the word out that Suzanne could be alive and injured?
.....
She is still missing and thus far there has not been one LE presser pleading for her safe return.
We know from photos that she's attractive with a warm smile.
But little else.
And that's sad.

MOO
(BBM and Clipped by me for brevity)
Isn’t it ABDUCTION 101??? ... that you get in front of cameras, contact every media outlet possible, not just to get the word out but to tell the viewers about Suzanne. Because when you tell readers and viewers about someone, they make a connection with that person and they are more alert and more aware of things going on around them - especially in nearby and local areas.
It is also important, I thought, in case the abductor is watching the News so that they view their victim as a human with family that loves them.
Is that just movie investigation stuff?
Does it really matter or change anything?
It would matter to me, and I’d be doing it for my “loved” one.
I see no show of GAD from any of them, which is more than sad. JMO.

Yes, it's possible. However, that still wouldn't answer the question as to why investigators dug up the area under the concrete slab where Barry Morphew was alleged to have been working.

Your last point is an important one: As much as it frustrates us attorneys when clients do not act on our advice, a client has competing interests when deciding whether to do something or not. For example, let's say that Barry Morphew's attorney had advised him to not allow searches or sit for an interview with detectives. This advice would be aimed at protecting Barry's physical liberty. It would not protect Barry's relationship with his daughters; indeed, following the advice could injure that relationship. In our hypothetical, it is perfectly reasonable for Barry Morphew to secure the father-daughter relationship at the expense of his personal freedom, regardless of the headache it may cause his lawyer.
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
Third time thru , I think I got it.:rolleyes: Could the homeowner/ builder thru their lawyer, force LE to clear the slab in order to continue the construction as scheduled. What can builder do, if there is a question about evidence in the slab?
Obviously, IANAL, but aren’t these the situations y’all live for? Aren’t there remedies that benefit both parties?

Let my brain unscramble for a few, then tackle the slab.

I honestly think if my loved one were missing and I was being looked at that I would cooperate fully. Get me off the list and let's get to working fast at finding my loved one. I might hire an atty if LE wasn't cooperating with me! Lol. And of course, my relationships with my children would be huge, to protect them and give them security. My kids are adults so I would fill them in with everything. No secrets, nothing hidden.

Yes we’ve seen that before - “please clear me so you can find who took my child“ - Elizabeth smart- Adam Walsh- Polly klaas - but we don’t even know if he was questioned - super quiet by LE - I believe I know what that means - we’ve seen this before

When Colorado Channel 2 reporter asked Mr. Morphew if he’s interested in making a public plea, Mr. Morphew said at this point it’s simply too soon.

I've always struggled to believe BM ever did say that. The phraseology is all wrong for his style of speech.

I can attest to what happened as I saw/heard the live morning broadcast which I trust will explain why you don't think the phraseology sounds correct for BM:

It was during the May 14 morning newscast when the anchor was talking to nephew TN live (TN on his pre-negotiated audio-only call in).

Listening, it's apparent that the reporter believes BM is with TN during the audio-only segment and the reporter made an offer to BM (via TN) to speak or make a plea for SM and to this offer, BM's response via TN was "it's simply too soon" to make a public comment/statement. To be clear, it was TN's voice that responded for BM to the reporter live on the air.

And believe it or not -- in this instance, we can attest to the DM reporting about this offer and BM's response as reported is accurate!

ETA -- add link --and thank you @Cindizzi. :)

So can I add this back into the timeline @sillybilly ?

Morphew's husband Barry has also put out a $100,000 reward for his wife's safe return, 'no questions asked', according to FOX 31.

He declined to make a public plea when asked by the local news station, saying it was simply 'too soon'. ”

oviedo, my dear ... you don't have to ask me. You are doing an excellent job in keeping things up to date and accurate. You can add to the timeline as you see fit, as long as you've got the MSM to support, it's all good. If there is anything that is inaccurate, the members would surely let us all know :)

Nope, just nope, IMO :):):), at least he faced the camera, she had logorrhea, Let’s be honest, she had the power to scramble brains,:confused::confused::confused:he may be painful, nobody will top Letecia MOO:D:D:D:D:D:D

Ooh, you've educated me! I had to go look it up because that word logorrhea sounded soooo familiar, but unknown to me at the same time. Who knew that diarrhea-of-the-mouth would have a similar sounding legitimate name?!?!?!

The font you use makes it hard for me to read your posts!!
@gitana1 Thank you very much for letting me know, so let me try this:

Quickly Swerving from Generic 'MisPers' Case to 'Other Than MisPers' Case?
If (hypothetically) BM has/had special friend, and/or was (hypothetically) living separately from SM, and/or if (hypothetically) his/M-fam vehicle was parked in friend's driveway during time when BM was supposedly 'prepping' at Denver jobsite, since evd of the ^ could have been discovered within a few or several hours of 911 call, then collectively that could have prompted LE to turn its case-steering-wheel from the Initially Bland & Generic MisPers lane to swerve sharply into the Peculiar & Very Suspicious Disappearance lane.
And if LE entered M fam home that evening & found something amiss there, that mos' def' could have changed investigation's direction. Just my 2 cts.

Hoping ^^this is better. My apologies. Again thank you.

Correct.

The only source implying the residence held since the date BM returned from Denver or May 10 is the DM, and OP presented that here as fact which I disagreed with. I think the earliest date the house was held is May 19. MOO

The DM provided the following with no source:

But DailyMail.com can now reveal that Morphew, 52, has not been allowed to enter the home he shared with Suzanne since he returned from his trip to Denver.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8349987/Cops-search-property-Colorado-evidence-mom-two-missing-Mothers-Day.html

Your interpretation makes much more sense to me than the DM's (which cites no source for their information).

I got to wondering about BM’s explaining how the neighbour went over to check on SM, the car was there but the bike was gone. How exactly did the neighbour determine that the bike was gone? The garage doors do not have windows. There is a window at the side of the garage beside the wood pile but I’m not sure as to the height and how easy it would have been to look into it. Likely had to climb over stuff. The windows at the back of the garage are too high. The more I think about it, TD’s video was likely a “windfall” for LE. I suspect he said TOO much. He absolutely needs SM to have gone on a bike ride. Look over there, there’s mountain lions, ya know, and random abductors, nothin’ to see here.

His “Bsplainin’” to TD didn’t work out too well for him, me thinks. MOO

Thanks for posting this @susiQ Three things struck me as I watched this video again: 1) The police tape seems to be put up in a weird zigzag manner. 2) I wonder if BM took that flat bed trailer and little digging machine when he went to Denver to prep the job. (Notice I don’t know technical terms for certain construction/landscaping equipment?) 3) What a big, creepy, isolated place to spend a night in alone.
