With regards to Life Insurance policies, my understanding is that it’s more difficult to collect without a body.

And regarding other financial opportunities, I don’t feel SM suddenly became a financial roadblock for BM after several decades of marriage.

And BM/SM would have already known early Sunday morning (before BM allegedly sought the OK to go to Denver) that the campers never got on the road at zero dark thirty to arrive in time to spend the day with mom.

If BM knew that the daughters wouldn’t make it back in time to spend Mother’s Day with Suzanne, does that mean that he had always planned to have the neighbor notify 911? For some reason, I had thought that he intended for the daughters to contact 911, but it sounds like that was never a possibility.

Her bike was found the same day. As you say , it's a regurgitation of the misinformation that's plagued Suzanne's case. That's all.

I believe BM intended for the daughters to raise the flag that SM was seemingly missing after a day of reaching out to her without a response.

And with husband and daughters far away from the residence, why not include the innocent neighbor to be the reporter to 911....

A party that knows nothing can't offer anything more than what's given.

That quoted text posted by gliving is all that I saw published on that site at that time. Those very few sentences (in bold) - no "article", it couldn't even be considered a "piece". I could be mistaken, but I now think that it may have been a blurb of text used as a placeholder to indicate what article would be going there. We used to do this as internal cues of what article or photo goes in what placement, they were never to be published, but occasionally out it went - oops!

What we see now in that link is an article.

I find it difficult to believe that BM would have planned/ premeditated a murder of his spouse for financial gain and then hid the body.

It's not difficult. If your wife wants a divorce, there's indeed financial gain if she's disappeared instead of carrying out her plan to take half and walk away.

Forgive me, but how do you know they have turned up nothing? On the contrary, the fact that they are looking at him tells me otherwise. Takes time to build a solid case a DA is willing to take to trial. There’s no body yet, so it’s just that much more complicated.

The best I could find is that Western Colorado Univ (Gunnison) graduation was previously scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2020 and maybe this was a conciliatory group gesture. (By student vote, in person Graduation has been rescheduled for Sept 2020).

The trip remains hinky for me.

Camping and RVing have become immensely popular during the pandemic. Combine that with a couple of teenagers that were locked down for two months, an area that has a considerable outdoorsy culture and it makes sense. Nothing hinky about it.

Thank you -- that's my point. BM knows the girls aren't going to be home until late afternoon or early evening, but he acts like they were going to spend Mothers' Day with mom. Whether you are in a car coming from a campground, on a church bus coming back from a retreat, or hitching a ride on a fast horse, you aren't going to be home for 8 - 9 hours. Not in time to 'spend the day' with mom.

Where did LE acknowledge that they found or recovered "the bike?" Please provide the link.

Let's assume for one second that LE did not find the bike. Even this LE group that can hardly be bothered to communicate with the lowly public about this investigation would surely ask for help to locate it, no? If they don't have the bike or the woman, and the story is that the two left together, wouldn't they be remiss not to look for both, either together or separate, even if they don't necessarily believe the story?

Maybe the request would go something like this: If you have any video footage from May 8 to 12 or found a random bike in the vicinity without an owner present, please hold those items in case we ask for them later. IMO

My family out that way traveled as far during the pandemic to camp in a specific climbing spot. I think people in these areas perceive travel distances differently, and also value exploration. Different rivers, different climbs, etc.
