FBI, CBI, and local investigators return to Suzanne Morphew’s home for search

July 9, 2020

SALIDA, Colo. (KKTV) - It has been two months since Suzanne Morphew was reported missing in Chaffee County, but investigators have not stopped their search.

Since the initial report of her disappearance on May 10, CBI reports more than 600 tips have been called in and numerous interviews have been conducted.

On Thursday, July 9, local, state and federal investigators returned to the Morphew property west of Salida to continue their search. To this date, no arrests have been made.

[..]

The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office will release information related to this search once this becomes available.

They don't seem to have a clue.
Curious, what is it you think lead state, local and federal investigators back to the Morphew house?

  • #404
Oh...they HAVE a clue, likely hundreds!
Ita.
I'm going to speculate that the digital/phone trail showed Suzanne did not go for a bike ride on Sunday.

They need a new search warrant. IMO
That in itself is telling!
In missing person cases, the FBI quite often will go back to repeat the original search, using entirely federal resources. Just six months ago in Montana the FBI did one of these "do overs" after three weeks of intensive multi-force searches. The bureau quickly located Selena Not Afraid in an open area that had been searched multiple times by very competent searchers. IMO
They don't seem to have a clue.
About what?

The only "new" info as that they've come back to search the Morphew property, and no one, has been ruled out as a suspect (first time they're using that language):

"Two months after the disappearance of Suzanne Morphew, local, state, and federal investigators searched the Morphew property west of Salida once again. On Thursday, investigators say they can’t rule anyone out as a suspect."
Ah yes, they can’t rule ANYONE out as a suspect, especially BM. Hey, they dug up the foundation, now they’re back at the house. This isn’t rocket science here

I thought in the DM photos showed a section of caramel colored beige carpet taken out ?
The DM get's their "facts" sadly askew, but their photos are first rate. ;)

That they are back at the house is promising. BM doesn't necessarily have to be the POI for them to do that, though.

Ita.
I'm going to speculate that the digital/phone trail showed Suzanne did not go for a bike ride on Sunday.
Or... anywhere else, since the 7th? Possibly?

They haven't accomplished anything, so they are back to the beginning.
So you're of the position, that after all the searches, all the outside agencies assisting FBI, CBI, tracker dogs, divers, SAR, etc., with all of their expertise in finding and piecing together evidence and facts in a missing person's case, not a one of them have come up with a thing... so they just went back to the house?

No, no! They’re tidying up some loose ends. The writing is “on the wall!” MOO

TN started out the same way any normal person would react. Get vocally upset that she is missing and start to yell it from the mountain tops.
Then something changed where he backed away. Backed way away.
Nailed it. He backed away so suddenly and swiftly. One moment he was demanding answers, the next a ghost. Something very significant and unexpected was revealed IMO.

When they go back to search a house for the second time do they need another search warrant or can they use the previous SW?
Colorado Statute provides for the 15 days to search under the warrant.

2016 Colorado Revised Statutes :: Title 16 - :: Criminal Proceedings :: Code of Criminal Procedure :: Article 3 - :: Arrest - Searches and Seizures :: Part 3 - :: Searches and Seizures :: § 16-3-305. Search warrants - direction - execution and return

(6) A search warrant shall be executed within fourteen days after its date.

ETA: I don't know if the Federal statute for a search warrant is same...

Interesting development. I’m guessing they got a new search warrant based on new evidence and wonder if they are doing any digging there.
