SM's Bike Shop?
@JnRyan Thx for your post. sbm bbm Re ^ BBM, I don't know, because I did not rely on the vid's CC's for spelling, I just azz-umed it was Scott & only a first name. Excellent catch on that - Scot. Seem like the right person/place for Lauren S or for TD to check, maybe email him/her? Seems like he's likely to know about her current bike & detail.
Actually, I went to Google Search and in the search block I typed: bike mechanic "Salida Colorado" Scott
It was the first result. It was that easy. I found it quicker than it took to type this.

It's interesting as on outsider to observe how tightly the two camps, i.e., LE and #TeamBarry, have both closed ranks.

It's almost like they're silently sizing each other up, as one would an opponent.

Watching the wordless actions of both, it strikes me that LE and BM don't appear to be working together toward a common goal.

LE's goal is to find Suzanne.

What's BM's goal, one wonders?

JMO.

LE’s goal is to find Suzanne, but that might be impossible. LE may have to settle for second best, and that is finding enough evidence to charge the person responsible for her disappearance. IMO

Question to any long time sleuthers... Is the case getting leaky? Tia

Thanks!!!! let me listen again.
Just did....That's amazing.!!! OMG, now its as clear as a bell.
It's the tale of two friends.. Barrys friend (TS) saying she was an avid biker and actually told him she wasn't intimidated biking alone.. and now Suzannes friend saying she was new to biking. Life gets complicated doesn't it.

BM’s goal is to move on. It’s obvious. It’s IN YOUR FACE obvious. LE’s goal is to find Suzanne and accumulate enough evidence to allow a DA to deliver justice for Suzanne. BM’s goal appears to sell SM’s interests and keep them for himself in a move to buy a property, drill a well, pave a driveway, build a new house and get buff at the gym for his amore. Suzanne isn’t even a second thought at this point. Pathetic man BM. I find him despicable in his lack of emotion and passion for SM. All MOO, of course.

I did find it interesting that Absolute Bikes said they think she is taking her bike to someone named Scott, but they don't know his last name or his address. Then you go to the Scots Bicycle Service on his home page he states that he worked for Absolute Bikes as mechanic from 1999 to January 2019. Maybe it is a new person at the shop. Maybe Scots Bicycle Service was not the same Scott or Scot that worked out of his place. After all, Salida is a big metropolitan area and there are probably a lot of Scott's or Scot's that work on bikes. Mr. Draper's investigative journalism skills are not impressing me.

i think it might have been TD's intention to hint at it in his video, and not to put scot(t) on blast. this is a guy who probably knows exactly what goes on on social media and youtube (and websleuths) when little snippets of information are released (especially on this case). imo.

I would think it would be easy to find Scott. Whoever he is. That didn’t wash for me. AnD the third bike company wouldn’t speak to TD so yes, maybe they are cooperating with LE only.
Good point! I figured if Suzanne was one of his customers he wouldn't want to talk to the news or others. But that LE might have told him not to is not something I immediately thought of.

Tires, bike shorts, sunglasses, jersey's and maybe even her hydration pack could be bought online. But her helmet and shoes - if she used cycling shoes - COULD be bought online, but it is better to buy those in a shop where you can try them on. I wonder if she didn't go into the 3rd store on occasion. And if she bought her bike in Salida, where did she buy it? You really need to not only try the bike, but you need to be properly fitted to the bike as well or you're going to end up with issues like sore knees. Fittings are almost always included in the purchase as well as tune-ups or adjustments in first few months or year.

We were TOLD Suzanne was an avid cyclist... we were TOLD she bikes on Sundays before church... by a source who had a bike story to peddle....

What if Suzanne hadn't actually ridden her bike IN MONTHS?

Guess what can happen to a bike, left unattended thru winter. FLAT TIRES. Looking at it, you might not notice. Riding it you would. You wouldn't make it 2000 feet. Or 2. Throw in a wheel lock and you have an unridable bike in a ravine.

That bike could well be the biggest clue in the evidence locker, both for HOW it got there (where it was found) and WHY!

All my own speculation

and guess who was likely in control of the bike narrative? the bike was always a red herring.

From what we are hearing, BM appears to be going about his daily activities. I wonder how the teller is responding to him at the bank? How the person at the gym handles it when BM hops on the bike beside her? Talk about elephant in the room.

To be fair, we only saw snippets of TD’s interviews with the people of Salida. I watched the PE video again and at the end they say that TD’s FULL report will be posted tomorrow, Thursday. Then I looked at TD’s YT page and there is a video from this morning where his brother reiterates that. Also, TD met up with Lauren S, and was interviewed by her while she was doing her research in Salida last Friday. So I think we will learn a lot more after we see LS report at 9:00 tonight and TD’s video tomorrow.
I’m hoping one of them dug a little deeper on the Scot person. Right now they are “teasing” their stories to get us to stay tuned. (I don’t mean that in a negative way.)

And while you are shopping in a bike store, aren’t you going to have some small talk with the clerk about how much you like to ride or whether it is new to you?
I think these little things of what Suzanne said to others may trip up BM.

I'm glad to see LS's reporting breathe some life into this case. It's one of the strangest 'missing person" cases I've followed and still believe LE knew from the very start foul play was involved.

It's sad to think this strong, vibrant, lovely woman and two time cancer survivor was disappeared by a loved one.

Interesting. I went on Google Maps back in May and looked for bike shops. TD mentions interviewing Absolute Bikes and Sub-Culture Cyclery, but in my search last May and again today Suzanne's missing person poster was not on the main web site or on their Facebook pages. However, the third bike shop in Salida, Salida Bike Company, had Suzanne's poster on their FB page on 11 May. The very next day and they were only one of the 3 bike shops to do anything publicly that I could find in relation to Suzanne. Was Salida Bike Company, who put Suzanne's poster on their web page on that Monday, the shop that did not want to speak TD? Maybe it is just a coincidence but maybe Salida Bike Company was Suzanne's go-to shop? We won't know though because TD didn't speak to them.

One tire in 2 years? My initial reaction is that isn't much for an avid cyclist. I bought 3 tires for one bike alone last year. But then I thought I only bought one in a bike shop. I bought the other 2 online because none of the shops carried what I wanted. Suzanne may have done the same.

She has her work done by someone named Scott or Scot? Took me all of about a minute, but there is a Scot's Bicycle Service and the owner retired last year from Absolute Bikes. If this is the same guy how did TD miss this? His address, phone number and email are on the web page.
Salida, Colorado
We don’t yet know that TD missed it. IMO I bet he’s been on it and we will hopefully hear more about it.

Do you agree that the minor daughter should have someone with her, as her counsel, when she is questioned by police? Suzanne can’t be with her and I doubt the police would want Barry present during questioning. There are practical reasons that the girls need their own representatives.

You are spot-on. I would also want an experienced attorney to guide me through the investigative process so I would know what to expect. Also as a contact point for LE. It has nothing to do with "guilt".

In same interview, didn’t the bike repair discussion, indicate she HAD been biking awhile?
I suppose locals have different standards for serious vs recreational mountain bikers? MOO

Not at all. In fact, I don’t know if I’ve seen a case where information has been this well protected.

You can’t stop the rumor mill, or prevent the public from sharing what they know. All that matters is LE is not leaking, as that protects the integrity of the investigation.

So leaky means that LE is giving out information , not the public, right?

Exactly. People who know investigative details, give that information to the media.

This sort of thing tends to happen in major cases in big cities (that recent New York dismemberment is a good example).
