You do have a way with words.
My opinion is that there's no where else to look, as LE have not indicated even once that we need to be on the lookout for an abductor , a bike 'accident', or a mountain lion out for revenge.
Nope.
Their focus is closer to home.
Sadly.
Imo.

There are lots of places to look. They just can't be discussed here.

1) LE’s investigation appears to be focused on BM.
2) BM’s behaviour does not appear to match what is typically expected of an innocent man.
3) conclusion: BM appears to be the most likely suspect

Given how secretive CO LE is, as are many other LE jurisdictions across the country, I won't be surprised if they never officially clear anyone and everything will be quiet until they make an arrest. I'm waiting to see the evidence (or really, any evidence) LE has found. That means I have to cool my heels for maybe a year if not longer.

IMO

I gotta' be honest:

I don't find it least bit disconcerting that BM hasn't been cleared by LE.

I don't have any expectation whatsoever that BM will ever be cleared by LE.

Whereas, I'd be completely gobsmacked if LE did clear him.

Gob. Smacked.

JMO.
Agree 100%...I meant disconcerting if your Team Barry. That should tell you something right there, I would think, especially after 2 plus months...

Not to beat a dead horse, but to beat a dead horse:

Because law enforcement didn’t believe she was abducted (no official poster with physical description, no frequent communication, no timeline, no last images).

That tells us the bike was staged, which only a person close to the victim does.

Because they sealed off the home quickly, and conducted two separate searches there.

Because the FBI spent 3 days digging up private property that BM worked on.

Because law enforcement continues to be silent, despite being active.

Because we have a man behaving contrary to just about every loving spouse ever, in a situation like this.

Because we’ve seen this movie before.
Ditto ...

I should have added that I'm aware of at least two remote bike trails in WA with live surveillance systems that followed the use of warning signs only.

The system is solar-powered, ground-mounted, and mobile (i.e., surveillance camera boxes can be moved around the trail). The first time I saw a "ground box" I thought it looked like something our HOA pest control uses.

Again, I have no idea if TD/LS is referring to a true system or mounted surveillance signs only. MOO
Or LE could have removed the cameras and taken them as evidence.

If I was a guilty BM, I’d be on the next plane to Mexico. But pride...
And a payoff IMO - I believe money is a motivation stronger than the others we’ve seen - other woman, custody, ...

Questions: the fact that there was a SW issued for the Morphew home, does that in itself indicate LE had strong grounds to suspect BM?
There was a missing woman. Would it not make sense to get a SW to investigate the last known building she was in?
Because it was the last building she was in, is that enough grounds for a SW?

I agree. Without a very public timeline of SM to May 10 at about 5:45 pm when she was reported missing to LE, I don't know how BM (or anybody) could ever be "cleared."

Murder of One's Wife?
So, I'm one of those pesky fence sitters ;)... Dr Moncton Smith (Criminology Expert) ... she stated there was an '8 stage pattern' that Uroxicide (think I spelt that correctly) follows ... sorry if I bored any of you :).
@Ashildir No, not boring us at all; and you may be a fence sitter but not pesky. In seeing bbm ^, I thought, yeah, uroxicide, that looks right, then googled to try to reassure myself about :rolleyes:my oh-so-flawless sense of spelling.
All the right letters but w two re-arranged. It's uxoricide.* Fwiw, I like OP ^ spelling better.
Glad you're posting on this forum @Ashildir.

...........................................................................................................
* "Uxoricide is the murder of one's wife or girlfriend. It can refer to the act itself or the person who carries it out." Not a new thing. Reaching back to Babylonian times, we can find cases of uxoricide, where a doomed relationship is not a surprise ending from our 21st Century pt of view. For ex, in 500's BC: "Cambyses II of Persia married two of his sisters and installed the younger as queen consort of Egypt. During his insanity, he murdered her for weeping for their brother Smerdis, whom Cambyses had murdered." I'm no marriage counselor, but that couple/trio was not destined to "live happily ever after." my2cts

So what? Unless they have a warrant, they can’t keep him off that plane. No matter how closely they’re watching him.
I am not sure if that is correct. I think LE can ask someone not to leave the area, during an active, ongoing missing/murder case.

While the purpose of your post is unclear to me, I am perfectly clear with my knowledge of the hundreds of hours WS members have spent on cases investigated and tried specifically under the criminal code of Colorado-- including Chris Watts and Patrick Frazee. Please be advised that each of these cases began as missing person investigations of their victims.

And I'm talking about hundreds of threads of theoretical, speculative, posts -- all absent of law enforcement's verified information, sources, evidence, interrogation, etc. used to convict two dangerous criminals.

Yes, we discuss cases without knowing the minds of LE. That is what we do on crime forums -- WS no exception. Please respect our experience, albeit outside the courtroom.

And if and when BS is named a suspect and/or arrested, it won't change a thing -- except that he'll be the alleged killer.

MOO
Respect is definitely a 2 way street.

After watching the latest Profiling Evil youtube, I want to comment on the surveillance video signs TD referenced.

My understanding of the video comment is that there are numerous signs posted on or near the biking trail (a sign not too far from where the bike was allegedly found).

While it's unknown if the signs are by Parks & Recreation, CDOT, or other, we recently learned during the Mackenzie Lueck murder investigation that both the video surveillance warning signs and mounted cameras in the City Park were bogus! The mounted cameras were actually dummies installed by the city with the intent to discourage crime.

City officials later cited that the cost of equipment and maintenance prohibited the use of real cameras prompting immediate fundraising and awareness efforts by ML's friends. MOO
The intrepid adventurer seemed to use WalMart as a base. By odd coincidence, the WalMart parking is a main stop on the Monarch Spur Trail marking the junction between the section of the trail that runs in the town of Salida, and the open country paved portion of the trail. I would readily believe that the town portion of Monarch Spur does indeed have some solar powered security cameras. The trail in town is surprisingly well signed and lighted. It is possible to ride continuously from the Monarch Spur Trail in Salida to the Monarch Crest Trail system in SM's vicinity.
The trails up on Monarch Pass, though, are primarily on U.S. National Forest Land. The federal service has been exposed using some concealed surveillance cameras on their lands, but is highly secretive about where and why they do. I cannot imagine that they would have signs announcing the presence of cameras.
Game cameras in Colorado must be "live action" and may not be capable of being connected to a remote device via the internet of any other means. (see Page 15, Section E at the third link below).

Not that long, unless that’s how long it takes for an arrest. The Stauch and Berreth cases took a couple months for the arrest affidavit to be released (After arrest), but that’s because there were extenuating circumstances.

The Stauch one was 32 pages long.

@Seattle1 i hope you can watch Lauren’s report tonight - I’m exhausted by the murders in Frostproof and we are more than 2 months in on Suzannes’ missing thread when everything IMO points to she is never coming back and may never be found - just wanted to say appreciate your research as it’s spot on

It’s been a long day and I’m on the east coast. I’m trying to stay awake for the Lauren Scharf piece but I doubt I’ll make it. I’m probably better off because when I wake up I can read how you all have dissected and debated it. I think I’ll come here first and read what y’all have to say before I sit down and watch the piece. I’ll know what to be looking for.

Right, but IIRC all the evidence is not disclosed in an arrest affidavit, so to hear/see/learn about all of it, that means waiting until a trial where the state presents their case in chief. But hey, I'd be happy to start with an affidavit.

A lot of what’s not in the AA will be presented at the preliminary hearing.

The Berreth case for example, still had some surprises at trial. But we knew all the important details beforehand.
