As in gun or drum? What's a barrel grinder sound like, at 3am?
Asking for a friend.

She did what I have done, not knowing anything about a connection to BM at the time. She asked about the keys to their equipment. I've know a few with heavy construction equipment and they've told me that they try not to leave equipment on site overnight if at all possible. Vandals have been known to put dirt, sand or sugar in the gas tanks, engine oil, coolant and hydraulics systems.Neighbors want answers two months into Chaffee County woman’s disappearance | FOX21 News Colorado
I’m posting the interesting parts:
The investigation team has said it continues to push forward on the case, all while keeping most of the updates under wraps. No arrests have been made in connection to Suzanne’s disappearance and, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, no searches for Morphew have been conducted since July 9.

Branson said while her memory is sharp, her hearing is going. She said that’s why the loud noise she heard, in the middle of the night on Mother’s Day Weekend, sticks out in her mind.
“At the very first I thought it was a truck or something maybe parked in my driveway or something, but no, it kept running and coming from the same direction over there, and I had been hearing all of this noise for quite a while,” she said.
“I thought it sounded like one of them running and I sat up in bed and said, ‘it is one of them, what’s going on, this time of night? That’s ridiculous.’ And I thought maybe they had orders to move it or something, so I laid there listening and it kept going and going and going for about a half an hour. And I finally got up to check and, as I opened the back door, it stopped. So I thought, maybe they are just moving something or whatever, and so I did not go out and investigate.”

Tyson Draper:
“He said something was wrong with the front wheel and then he changed the subject and started saying something else,” Draper explained.
In the video, Barry also talks to Draper about where he was on the day his wife vanished.
“He was describing that, about having a job in Denver, and it’s very out of the ordinary for him,” Draper said.
During that exchange, however, Barry didn’t tell Draper if he had joined in on the search for his wife on June 1. However, Draper said he thinks he saw Barry searching the day before.
“He was wet, cold, and distraught. He looked like he was out searching or doing something,” Draper said.

“I was quite shocked with how liberal he was with this information – giving one theory after another. And I was trying to process it all in, in the moment, like what is going on. And I don’t understand -why is he telling me all of this stuff? And I thought, at one point, he would just stop and say, ‘Who are you?’ And that was the gist of it – and what do you think, but he was just on a roll. And I didn’t say much,” Draper explained.
There are surveillance cameras in the area of the Morphew property. Deputies have asked people to save video around the date of May 10 – two days before and two days after, specifically.

Detectives with the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office said they obtained a second search warrant to return to the Morphew property on July 9. Law enforcement would have to have something substantial that they were able to show to a judge to be granted a second warrant. However, they have not released any details on what they were looking for – or what was found.
I want to know what day on Mother's Day weekend? Did she hear the equipment noises Saturday or Sunday, what time? I'm going to ask Lauren that very question.
Or swapped out.Wonder if it was machinery that was already there being used, or something brought there and taken away.
Is DWAP info admitted here? I believe that the neighbor of the 'dig' site is the same woman who called in.
I could be totally mistaken but I believe the loud noises were supposed to have happened at 3am onward.
Extremely odd no matter how you look at it. And, she saw a man and a woman.
Please delete if this is inappropriate, with my apologies.
I think the neighbor’s account is accurate, but at the same time, I don’t think it’s relevant to this case.I am a little bit questioning of this neighbors account. Often people elaborate to make a finding more interesting than it is. I doubt BM would be foolish enough to go to a job site in the middle of the night and start working. The neighbor thought it was a truck at first. It may have been a truck running its engine. It may have been BM digging. I am on the fence about this one.
What are your thoughts? Making up for lost time?I think the neighbor’s account is accurate, but at the same time, I don’t think it’s relevant to this case.
I didn't catch that DWAP call-in, but the 3:00 am starting time seems perfectly logical for the amount of work that needed to get done that Sunday in order to pass inspection first thing Monday and begin pouring concrete immediately (in my opinion).
The home project is in Chaffee county, outside the city limits of Salida. Chaffee county has no noise ordinance but has adopted the state statute on noise abatement. That law allows construction sites to have a constant noise level of 75 dB(A) during the hours of 7:00 pm to 7: am. This is slightly less loud than the manufacturer's published noise level for a pneumatic tamper which would have nbeen needed.........but the statute covers constant noise levels, not intermittent ones; and the remedy is for the offended party to seek an injunction for abatement.
I fully understand why she was upset, but I can't endorse what I believe are very unfortunate consequences of her ire. IMO

Middle of the night, h'mm, that's interesting. Wonder if they picked up his car then on CCTV .... those webcams aren't the best when it's dark, so not sure what would show up .... or maybe his car didn't show up at all, someone else's .... very interesting piece of info though. What on earth would that machinery have been doing?
Was able to watch that live too![]()
'..at this time...'May 24, 2020 press release from CCSO:
"The three-day search conducted at a residence on County Road 105 on the east side of Salida has concluded. Investigators with the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, CBI and FBI went to the site to follow-up on leads developed during the course of the Suzanne Morphew missing person case.
Investigators searched several locations on the property; however, they were unable to make any connection to Suzanne Morphew’s case at this time. ....."

Not boring at all. I like use of stats and research to determine probabilities in these cases. Love it.
You make good points. For me this feels somewhat like the Michelle MacNeill case. She and her husband were about the same ages. He was having an affair. So, he killed her so he could be with the new woman.
I see that happen more in cases where the family is super religious and/or can't deal with criticism from family or the community. Also in cases where they don't want to lose money in a divorce.
I have no facts to base my feeling on. Just a feeling.
The CDC does studies on anything related to the health of the populace. I guess spousal murder would count, even though it's not necessarily a "disease?"
Me too. I'm slightly concerned that a search of that scale was based solely on what she reported in her interview. Hopefully LE had a lot more which led them to search that site.I think the neighbor’s account is accurate, but at the same time, I don’t think it’s relevant to this case.

While nothing may have been found initially, we can discount ensuing lab testing.
We still have no idea who was/were at the dig site, that early morning.
Did Lauren answer that in a follow-up Q&A? I trust you so maybe it was an entirely different person who called in and, it might've been about a different site/night altogether.Me too. I'm slightly concerned that a search of that scale was based solely on her what she reported in her interview. Hopefully LE had a lot more which led them to search that site.
Lauren answered the question- neighbor does not remember exactly which night, time was about 11:30 PM.
