Go to worksite at 9pm, leave phone proceed down Hwy 50 in a pre GPS car. Round trip 30 -60 minutes. Return to work site make noise loading equipment.
Aaahhh ok...devious! Thinking BM is that clever are ya? Why not do that closer to sunrise so it doesn’t look so strange to be getting equipment in the middle of the night? You don’t have to answer...just thinking out loud. I’m open to the possibility of this scenario. If you had been speculating he was framed not so much. ;) I agree that direction also has a lot of very good hiding spots!

In the construction industry, equipment moving late at night or in the wee hours of the morning almost always means that thieves are at work, unless the job has overnight shifts. It just doesn’t happen - operators don’t want to have an accident in the darkness. An accident in a front end loader has a lot of potential to be fatal. Unless the site has temporary lighting, it is very hazardous to operate construction equipment in poor light, even if there is some lighting on the equipment. In a theft scenario, a flatbed transporter is driven to the site for transporting the stolen equipment, and the equipment is started up and driven onto the flatbed.

A few thoughts come to mind.

First, how cold was it in early May at high(ish) elevation Salida?

Second, were either of those Ford f350s diesel? I bet most of the heavy equipment is.

Diesel machines need to idle for a while to warm up before use when the temperature is low.

And to a little old lady like the neighbor (or myself for that matter), a honkin f350 diesel can sound like monster equipment!

JMO

Why are all those collumns around the river side of that home they dug up anyways? And they were all dug up. What are the purpose as the house foundation was in front of those?

Going off my memory of those photos, I took those to be recently-poured pier posts, footings for (perhaps/for example) a deck that will extend from the house out toward the river.

IMO

Thank you Oviedo. I guess it's been speculated that the "article" by the road could be the phone. Anyway, the friend would have the crucial texts of Saturday.

It was still open just over a week ago, as was her Instagram account.

SM’s twitter account @srmorphew (unless she had 2) is still public. No posts since 2017. Her IG account is private, it’s followed by BM.

This is really just speculation about why pad property was dug up, because I am very open to stranger abduction.

My point is with the work site that if whereabouts were seperate from the truck, this is where I would see that separation happening.
And MOO if either a stranger or someone close to SM took her, looking at the topography and urban build up I see highway 50 to be traveled enough not to arouse suspicion by stopping somewhere, but not developed enough to have cameras any where, with river access for tens of miles right off the shoulder.
Choice of night time? MOO more a choice of timing, immediate action to avoid dog detection later.

Yes, especially the disarticulation, let's put it that way. I never killed a deer, but I dealt with probably 100 of them afterwards, it's easy because many bones can be easily separated with just a sharp knife. I'm leaning towards premeditation as others have mentioned. His apparent peace in the aftermath of her disappearance leads me to believe he got over her sometime in the past, and is now not grieving but relieved, imo, with well thought out financial steps on the agenda 1) Saturday night comes home, not even aware she has been texting 2) gets her to the vehicle alive but restrained 3) drives to pre arranged spot to kill her, maybe doing it in a tote where no fluids or smell would remain at the spot, 4) drive to pre-thought out place to scatter remains, (up some mountain road, or in plastic bags in bins, stopping now and then) 5) back home in time to leave at 5 am, getting rid of tote or container or ice chest somewhere like in pieces in garbage bins. But I still think that 5 am hour has something tying it to the time line, like he had to be seen, or not to be seen, or....what? Also, he had to be oblivious to the interruption (or topic of) of texting, because it was a red flag.

ETA well the phone had to be taken by him. Maybe he knew how to smash/burn the card or whatever, to stop further action from the phone.
Can you even imagine the horror of being tied up and taken alive somewhere by your husband. Maybe incapacitated (sound familiar) meant unconscious somehow - drugged or knocked out first - but if she was alive and bound & gagged and couldn’t move or scream what must her last thoughts have been like in that type of scenario? She was probably thinking is this really happening or am I dreaming/having nightmare? What is he doing? Why does he looksso evil? Is this the same man I married and had children with? She was probably praying and begging for her life and worried what he had done or would do to their daughters. And what if someone was with him? Sheer terror! I hope it didn’t go down that way and she didn’t see it coming or suffer like that. An OP speculated he may have tricked her into going somewhere like a hike or a picnic and killed her there. But when we found out about the communication with her friend ending later on Saturday that seems less likely. I’m still leaning towards an argument/accidental rage killing but keep getting swayed back and forth to premeditated by OP and other factors. Your scenario was chilling... reminded me of that horrible and emotional scene from Sopranos where Adriana is tricked into thinking Christopher is in the hospital and Silvio is driving her there and she totally trusts him and she loves Christopher and is so worried about him but then Silvio pulls off the interstate suddenly driving into the woods and she suddenly realizes what is happening and that he is going to kill her and so she jumps out of the car and tries to run away but it’s too late...broken trust, betrayal, shock, terror and then surrender to her fate. :(

Following - what work being done on searched site- clearing land = bulldozer, basement = backhoe, footings = mini excavator or 12" bucket backhoe. What else could be on a simple residential build site? Can we eliminate the land clearing and basement based on it being a slab or crawl? (don't remember permits or work being done) I did leave out a compactor but a small 1 cylinder gas engine on a home depot $650 compactor would not be that roar).
From there we look at his trailer and his equipment to see if they match what would be there. We look at what job he actually contracted Monday in Denver to verify what could have been common to both.
First I would not take a job so far away . Second if I did I don't think I want to pull a backhoe that far and out of town contractors rent machines and labor from the union hall . Rule of thumb- Each piece of equipment on a jobsite--= 1 man labor price. @ 8hrs. So 3 pieces on a jobsite where labor is $100 per hr is 3 x $100 x 8=2400$. Add 1 operator who alternates equipment ( usual suspect) . A big time contractor would send 3 operators for 3 pieces and just overcharge or find somebody else. A beginner scabbing for anything would use himself as operator and 3 convicts or illegals. All that said, normal has to be established, before you can troubleshoot anything including a crime , and when a beginner is involved I don't think normal is normal. Then after u figure out how usual suspect operates his jobs- by asking the builders he worked for - and inspectors he has been dealing with- you might be able to figure out what the darn noise was but a lot goes into that if you want to bet on it. Is waterboarding legal yet? Sorry got off track. Then we get the neighbor who heard the noise to jump in bed , close window and we start each piece of equipment and ask her --did it sound like this or louder? then we let her listen to a woodchipper? But on paper thats what I do. Motown

I'm familiar with construction and heavy equipment also.

In regard to the job in Denver. If BM worked as a sub under a general contractor who bid the job, and it was a prevailing wage project. It could have been very lucrative for him to work out of town. If the job lasted longer than a day, his costs likely included per diem with lodging for anyone on the project.

I have no idea what equipment was at the job site and whether that equipment was BM's or another contractor's. It's worth noting Ms. Branson did speak with construction workers after she heard the noise and none of them seemed to know what she was talking about. So drawing a straight line, we could conclude the equipment which was operated that night was not done so by a worker who remained on the job site after BM's portion of the work was completed, JMO.
Neighbors want answers 2 months into Suzanne Morphew’s disappearance | FOX31 Denver

The small bobcat loader I saw at the house was not parked on a trailer, but next to it (see link video link below at 3:28). If that's the piece of equipment the neighbor heard, BM may have been finishing a bit of work, so he could remove it that night and either- 1). use it for another purpose that very night or - 2). take it with him to Denver at 5:00 AM.

To make the timing on this work, the neighbor would have to hear the noise on Saturday night/after midnight on Sunday. If it was BM, pretty sketchy goings on when viewed with what we know of the timing of Suzanne's abrupt exit in conversation with girlfriend. MOO

I have wondered since the beginning about WHY the FBI and CBI got involved so quickly. Could there have been some history of discord or abuse? Did the neighbor who called 911 offer some info on a personal level that made the sheriff consider homicide and reach out for more law enforcement,? Just thinking out loud.
MOO
Me too and we had a big discussion about that a few threads back. Possibly the neighbor heard something during the night or saw something suspicious or possibly the friend who couldn’t get back in touch with Suzanne was so worried she called one of Suzanne’s daughters and she told LE about that or even the friend could have called LE herself. Or maybe as has been speculated there was a history of domestic violence in the home. But something seems to have happened very early on to indicate to LE that the bike was staged. And I love your name @Area52! Would love to be a fly on the wall there and see what’s really going on.

This is why I do hope if she did get get abducted that it's stranger violence, and that she was happy until then and it was quick.

holy cow. i had not watched that video in quite some time. is that entire driveway around the house a dirt driveway? with BM being a professional landscaper, i'm wondering about a possibility. what if he say, dug a hole, absolutely anywhere on that property, but especially on a dirt driveway like that (with a bobcat?), do you think he would be able to cover it up and make it look completely undisturbed and/or like it currently did? what all kinds of things can you do with that type of machinery? (i don't have a clue). can you lift massive rocks and put them back down?

Can I give you one of your own BAMS?!! That makes a lot of sense...
@Warwick1991 I just realized I BAM’d you thinking you were @Warwick7 sorry. I didn’t know we had another Warwick here...but I’m sure Warwick7 would agree your post was BAM worthy! :D

My husband and both sons are avid hunters. When they kill a deer, they usually clean and quarter it up shortly after the hunt. Sometimes, it may take a few days to get the deer processed (as in taking to the butcher)

In that instance, the deer is kept in a large ice chest until it can be transported and processed into hamburger, sausage, back strap, or whatever.
I can see BM having a large capacity ice chest on hand since he hunts.
MOO

Also, doesn't a body that has been frozen - make it harder to determine time of death?

In a case like this, has a POI ever flipped on another POI while then moving their reward money to be under the control of the sheriff?

It sounds like a targeted search is underway. I wonder what new info was gathered and from whom to point LE to search today.

Thanks everyone for the updates !
Wow.
Searching today , no volunteers needed.
That sounds like 'no volunteers wanted' since LE know what or where they need to look.
Or someone was persuaded to talk ?
Sadly it's not an abductor but someone closer to home.
Imo.

This case is far from cold.
Justice for Suzanne !
