Thanks everyone for the updates !
Wow.
Searching today , no volunteers needed.
That sounds like 'no volunteers wanted' since LE know what or where they need to look.
Or someone was persuaded to talk ?
Sadly it's not an abductor but someone closer to home.
Imo.

This case is far from cold.
Justice for Suzanne !
No they aren’t searching that I know of the tweet was from the beginning sorry for that confusion @LietKynes

This was awhile ago not today - I posted to show the no comment from the sheriff

oh. I thought this was something happening today.

I see too much silence from Salida. That makes me wonder if something illegal i.e. grow, gambling, trafficking, drugs has got the hood scared of retaliation as well as the family quiet. Reminds me of NYPD or Chicago PD shows where nobody saw anything.

Interesting comment from a former prosecutor
and now private attorney, who spoke on
Court TV this past evening.
She said she doesn't remember any case she ever prosecuted of homicide committed by husband against wife, where there wasn't
prior violence against wife before her murder.

My mind jumped to SM and how we've discussed BM's controlling personality.
I'm sure LE has most all the pieces and knows pretty much what happened.
They just need those little additional details
to put a credible story together to convince a
jury of what happened.
It's coming BM, get your affairs in order.

Your post is most encouraging, with the sentence BBM.
Previous statements that BM is controlling, has a temper, suggest he has acted on this, towards SM in the past.
If there was prior violence, surely friends would be aware or there would even be Police reports.
SM's marriage to BM will be examined in detail, and brought to notice when applicable.

Again, we wait....
MOO.

Hey I’m all for BM sharing his story, round two, in what I’m guessing will be in a more formal setting. Good for him.
My question is can he push the needle in a different direction at all? We will see.

  • #551
I wonder how BM's interview will go over with the audience when compared to such silver tongued devils as Chase Merritt or Fotis Dulos?

  • #552
The M property and Arkansas River conversation got me thinking about a similar post I made recently. This post is MOO and is just something to consider regarding where SM’s body might be found.

-BM was/is a volunteer firefighter
-Volunteer firefighters train on swift water rescue in the Arkansas River
-I’d imagine some aspect of that training involves what happens if a person is swept down the river with knowledge that there is a dam. I’d imagine you’d also be familiar with how corpses of people that drown are found in that area
-As a volunteer FF, you’d also have a lot of experience with the various terrain in the area
-As a big game hunter, you’d feel comfortable being out in remote areas

That leads me to think that if BM is the perp, he’d have enough info on why trying to hide a body in the Arkansas River is not a good option. I could see a weapon that would sink being disposed in the river but not a body.

On the other hand, as a FF, Big game Hunter, and someone very familiar with hardscape work, I think you’d have a lot of ideas on how you could use the terrain for your benefit.

Your last sentence EggSalad, is important:
to dispose of a body, clothing etc in terrain you are familiar with, but there being poor access to outsiders.
The site could be covered, concealed, never to be located.
Any Perpetrator, having such knowledge could successfully hide important items, lost forever.
MOO.

BBM:

Back on August 12th, I posted this about the flyer distribution and SM's family talking to both the PE guys and LS/MSM at the 3-month mark of her disappearance:

"LE is hitting his pressure points, and as a result, the person who killed SM is likely experiencing a ton of pressure, both external and internal, as a result of everything that's unfolded this past week….
LE has all but officially named him a suspect at this point.
They aren't coming right out and saying it, though, which is also brilliant strategy.
The more ambiguous their words and actions are, the more anxiety SM's killer will feel.
Anxiety is a hard emotion to just sit with…generally, anxiety produces a reaction.
Either a person talks, or a person acts. "

Looks like LE's tactics worked perfectly.
Clearly, BM felt pressured to talk.

Can't wait to hear what he had to say.
I'm sure LE is all ears, too.

JMO.

I apologize if this has been covered previously... I admittedly haven't read everything - but I still wonder about the noises reported by the neighbor at the job site late on the 9th.

Does it seem like someone would take the risk of making all that commotion if they were in the process, or in the possession, of something nefarious? Someone might do this I guess and we know (thankfully) that mistakes do get made. But could it serve another other purpose to have a verifiable reason to be out and about that night on that route? I guess it could also have been that something was needed for the trip on Sunday to be believable, or to make up for lost time if work had been planned and missed for another reason. I believe the neighbor said she heard noise for about 30 mins, no clue how long loading up equipment or finishing up a job might take.

If I recall correctly, LE said a "tip" led them to search there the way they did. Would a search like that have been carried out based upon just a tip without someone else's admittance of being out there or GPS data? I think about the unknown item being referenced widely in the media and wonder if they could be looking for someone to have seen it there (if you know what is it, then you saw it) before a morning ride was feasible. IMO.

Welcome NatKingCola with your first terrific post.
Hope we hear more from you.:):):)

I feel the noisy equipment, the article located may purposely have been staged.o_O
Equipment as to be 'important work', article to cause a diversion of direction: both to have LE on the wrong track.
With this line of thought, there would be no chance, in these areas, to find anyone missing.
MOO.

Good on LS!

Although this reads live broadcast to see the "video," I'm very curious if the video will be just LS and her audio with BM (a la nephew, TN), or if BM will also be on video with LS.

Hmmm...o_O

I am hoping that something breaks soon. My insomnia has caused me to watch a lot of late night true crime shows, and so many take years before an arrest is made. In a majority of those cases, LE had their suspect from the beginning, but needed more for an arrest. I do feel that whatever happened, it took place in the house, and there was not a lot of physical evidence at the scene. All about the digital footprint, in my estimation. But is that enough?

DizzyB, today, our digital footprint provides so much info.

If this leads to missing items, then further background evidence, testimonies of family and friends, past incidents will all add to the case.
Must be very absorbing for Prosecutors to 'put it ' all together.

We try here, with the little we have, to make a case.o_O
Let us see, where our thoughts lead, if some here, are correct.
MOO.

I wonder if this will be a true one on one style interview, or if it will be set up in a way that affords Barry more control. Something like: he provides to LS a written statement to read, Barry reads a prepared statement through audio only, or he provides written answers to the questions of his choosing. I guess we’ll see.

I found a News Site video that shows the Bobcat Tractor at the SM home.

Go to 3:07 in the video and then hit PLAY and it comes up clearly. Its a small white Bobcat Tractor with a bucket attachment on front.

ETA - And a trailer that can be used to haul it around is sitting right there next to it. It really makes me wonder now if this was the equipment taken from the Salida work site and was needed for maybe nefarious reasons. JMO

Well ya, she is a curtain twitcher, no doubt, heh.

BUT some of these 'busy bodies' provide important info, not seen/heard by others.
Police often canvas areas for such people in cases, and these often lead to valuable details in their cases.
