Yes. It is. [insert weeping emoji] As a "professional" poet, I am both nodding and staring at my screen in horror.

Also: who on earth thinks they can tell a story about a mountain lion or bobcat that doesn't include massive amounts of forensic evidence left behind on a road, a bike, the ground, etc? BM has invented an imaginary monster to hide the real one.

PS If you want to have a retirement plan, please do not become a professional poet. It is even less useful than my philosophy degree. :D One tiny benefit: I pay much closer attention to language and how people use words than I did before I became a writer, and everything in BM's words worries me. He distances himself from SM and her life. He is finished with her.
BBM
Haha that made laugh. But that’s so awesome that you’re a poet! Such a romantic profession.

Good thing the PE guys honored the Moorman family request to not interview SM dad due to health concerns

How do you know Suzanne’s father didn’t ask to speak on camera for the first time? @ProfilingEvil has been diligent in keeping SM’s name before the public, as Lauren Scharf has. As a matter of fact, far more so than her husband has been willing to do. Why the snide remark regarding the PE guys? Just curious why you think this was all on PE and not initiated maybe by the Moormans... MOO

My heart is BREAKING for the Moorsman family and SM's daughters. The feeling of being gaslit by the person who is now using religion to explain to his wife's death/disappearance, the cruelty of this betrayal.... wishing so much I could pour light, comfort, and justice around this family today.:(
I so agree with you. "Preacher Barry" is a very tough pill to swallow.

I believe that request was made a couple months ago, and I think Mr. Moorman was ready to speak about his beloved daughter, as was Suzanne’s brother, Andy.

Any particular reason for calling out PE hosts?

other than the time they wanted to invite BM on their show and ask him how Suzanne was doing, no reason

That statement makes no sense to me. He's focusing on one small aspect of the investigation that occurred in the beginning upon finding the bike. Can his thinking really be that narrow that he thinks that is the only thing that is significant? Considering all the agencies involved and all the investigative work since then, he thinks everything has been a cover up based on one initial mistake? All agencies involved are participating in this cover up? He can't really believe that.

The circumstances around the bike seem to be the only thing that is important to him. What evidence does he believe was there that they missed or destroyed? He's been stuck on that from the beginning and it's very telling.

IMO
Yes he is only focused on the bike, and LE hasn’t even mentioned it.

Vomiting in my own mouth just thinking about it. But..... you know.... that whole preachiness and control, the way he has been "preachy" from the start in his tone and in his self-assurance, also paints a psychological portrait of who he was in the family. He was (and probably is) very hard to disagree with or to argue with, especially given the undercurrent of self-righteousness.

I've been thinking that there is importance in what particular mechanical adjustment he made to the bobcat. But as others have alluded to, it's probably the WHERE of Barry WAS at that time, rather than the mechanical thing. But it could be both. Maybe changing out some part of the body of the bobcat that had blood on it, and the new part stands out for being too new.

Haha that made laugh. But that’s so awesome that you’re a poet! Such a romantic profession.

Romantic and (cough) pretty useless. Though I sometimes get asked to write eulogies (and that means so much to the families but it breaks my heart because I over-identify with them. It's hard not to start caring deeply about a life when you write a eulogy for that person and see them as a human who did their best and whose loss is just devastating).

When my kids tell their friends "Mom is a poet," we get some of the funniest looks and laughs. :)

I think of my own Dad, who has passed. These are men from a certain generation, private, less involved in their children’s day to day than many of us are. I saw photos of Suzanne with her Dad, and I saw love. Her father spoke for her. I am sure my Dad would have done the same-very uncomfortably, which makes it so much more difficult to watch. This man wants to make sure his baby is found, before he departs this earth. And Suzanne’s brother wants to do this for him, for his sister. This is the emotion that was missing. Suzanne does have a voice.

All of this. Yes, all of this. Thank you for saying it.

So...... if I'm LE and I read that interview with BM, I think the first thing I do is call up BM and ask him to take a polygraph, right? (Which, btw, I trust SMs family's account on that anyway).

I was struck by the profound difference between the statements/emotion from SMs family versus BM. BM just doesn't look/sound/act like a broken man. SMs father and brother are clearly broken and devastated.

And 100% agree with all the statements about BM adding God to our list of suspects. Disgusting. MOO, JMO.

Yes it’s poetic, isn’t it?
Maybe a title for a book should BM decide to create a new adventure series for boys. I can picture BM in a loin cloth on the front and the title will be: Bobcat on Puma Path!

Because the bike is what he needs us to believe--it is his staged scene. The fact that LE isn't buying it means he took this opportunity to do an interview to try and stir doubt about LE's actions and draw attention back to the bike. I do think this part was intentional on BM's part--to bring the bike back into the picture. (Too bad he slipped and mentioned the bobcat.)

So true MsBetsy. I think he was so certain that the bike staging would fly, that he is stunned and stuck. I think there's something wrong with his cognitive processing. Really. I think those who know him may laugh at him behind his back, when he starts trying to impress them with his brilliance. He's a legend in his own mind. Moo

Little Buddy’s cellphone rings on Sunday evening, May 10, 2020.
Hello?

Hey Buddy, it’s Barry.

Hey Barry, what’s up?

Listen, my wife is missing. She’s probably been abducted. My neighbor already called the cops. Can you take a ride over there and make sure they don’t screw everything up?
We need to protect any evidence.

Sure, Barry, I’ll head right over.

Great, I’m on my way. Call me if they find anything. See you when I get there.

MOO
I'm struggling with the amount of arrogance it must take to publicly call out 3 law enforcement agencies in an interview when your wife is missing. He really is an arrogant son of a gun.

No, not useless. We NEED beauty in the world right now. :)

Barry the Bobcat on Puma Path?

Honestly, my first thought. He might be implying SM was spending time with someone known to her and that person harmed her. I also get the impression he believes this is someone she should not have been with.

"People don't know the truth" , "oh Suzanne", "it's too soon".

Who knows really.... IMO
