So, with the comment BM made about how "cats drag their prey up the mountain" (whether that's factually accurate or not), maybe it was the Bobcat taking its prey up the mountain somewhere...

A Bobcat machine is going to leave massive prints behind unless used on already disturbed earth.

My 757th possible scenario about the machinery running at midnight or thereabouts. HYPOTHETICAL: SM was murdered at home. BM leaves her body at the house, drives to Salida, and digs up enough dirt to load into the back of the pickup to cover a body. He has to then re-level and re-tamp the dirt for the concrete pour the next day. He heads back to the house, cleans up, then loads the body under the dirt in the back of his truck. He either starts out for Denver and leaves the body somewhere on his way to Denver or he dropped the body somewhere nearer Salida. I mentioned in an earlier post that the area between Johnson Village and Antero Junction was the least populated most rugged area between Salida and Denver. Johnson Village is about a 40 minute drive from the Morphew home.
If he is stopped on his way to Denver, he is just a landscaper on his way to a job in Denver,. No suspicions would have been raised because no one knew that SM was missing at that point.
When LE learned about the machinery running at night, that BM had been hired to do the prep for the concrete pour and that his truck was there that night, they began to investigate the site with GPR and dogs. The GPR would have found spots that indicated ground disturbance. This all together was likely enough PC for the search warrant. It would also account for the fact that they might not have found anything during that search. (Although we still don’t know if they found anything or not.)

I asked at one point if cadaverine could be detected on a vehicle if she was in the dirt. This is a very logical thought in my opinion. Perfect way to hide a body.

I agree, @Goldenseal. I’ve always thought she was fairly close by. First of all he doesn’t want to be driving around with a body in his truck. And secondly, he wanted to do what he was going to do under cover of darkness. Sunrise in Salida on May 10th was at 5:55 a.m. First light began about 5:25. He had about 5 1/2 hours of darkness from the time he left the dig site until the break of dawn
Of course, we don’t know when and where BM’s truck went that night. LE likely does.

Someone earlier had posted a graph. It was a graph showing what a 200-mile radius would look like from where the bike was found. ( the chart was perfect, the concept was ridiculous).

Now what we need is another graph, that shows us approximately a 2 hour and 45 radious from the dug up garage.

Interesting idea, old cop. Dirt. Was there a big pile of dirt there that was used for the house pad. I know nothing about Colorado construction, but it looks like it's all rock up there. So do they haul in a lot of dirt for leveling? Colorado being rocky, did he use that dirt to cover her not only for the ride, but also after she was placed somewhere? If he wanted to bury her, dirt would be easier to manage than rocks. Moo

Given the way he is reacting to his wife being missing, he doesn’t come across as take-charge, alpha personality at all.

I have no doubt that SM was sincere in her beliefs, and I get the impression that BM went along with appearances of a Godly believer for a long time. It almost feels like he’s mocking her beliefs with the statement that SM would think it’s worth it. I’ll add that I come from a background that used that sort of religious reasoning, so I do understand what he means. I just think it’s shocking to use in the context of a missing wife, when you presumably do not even know what happened to her. Whatever horror it is, it’s worth it if one person accepts Jesus into his heart. Is he telling SM that he finally has accepted Jesus, for real this time? Is he telling her that was God’s Plan?

I found the photos, and a helicopter video, but I don’t know how to attach here? I never noticed the yellow tape until now, but it definitely attaches to the bob cat and there’s two cops sitting next to the bob cat and the trailer.

I meant how much "set up" was actually needed? A whole day seems excessive. Would getting there at 9:30 not have worked? In other words, leaving his wife so early on MD was elective, even if it was true there was a business need.

Meaning, he did not even wait to have a cup of coffee with her in the morning?

I don't think there was a job in Denver. The only person who has stated that is BM - after he changed his story from "training" (which he did only after Fire Chief said there was no training).

And first he had a conversation with Suzanne about whether it was okay for him to go that morning (no mention of how early it was) then it was "she was still sleeping."

Because if he now said Suzanne was awake when he last saw her, there would be big questions about why she didn't speak to her friend or her two daughters on Mother's Day. That was an initial oopsie, which he has now corrected.

I’d speculate it was quite a few things off pretty much right away that triggered LE to confidently squash prevailing theories. The bike being the most obvious. For all we know, the tires didn’t have dirt from the road on them in the photos...assuming it was even rideable. IMO.

Agree completely. Something triggered LE early on. MOO, I personally think the bike was inoperable. Once LE gave it a good once over, they realized it wasn’t operable, and they saw no evidence of a tumble or fall. It seems I’ve watched a video of the area where the bike was found. For the life of me can’t remember if it was LS when interviewing another rider. IIRC, the area just beyond where the bike was found (btw the bike and water stream) was fenced off by what appeared to be barb wire fencing. SM wouldn’t have accidentally stumbled/fallen into the water unless she climbed through the fencing. I’ll try to find the video on YT.

Men like this 'train' those around them over the years. They train the wife and kids that life is easier and less chaotic when they go along rather than go against.
I jokingly refer to these wives as dishrags, not in a disparaging way but it's how they get treated by the household ruler. The ruler whips them around like a dishrag, and has no respect for them.

Tragic how this seems is to work or play out most effectively in families with daughters, where the daughters are also invested in pleasing "Daddy" and in keeping Daddy happy so he won't be emotionally abuse to Mom. This sort of pattern is usually deeply embedded and normalized, and it takes years of therapy for those daughters to untangle themselves from both the guilt and silence of living in those families.

These are the families that look perfect on social media and on the outside--and everyone is shocked when a crime occurs inside the family. It breaks my heart because sometimes there are very few signs and no way to protect the females involves--it is airbrushed on the outside and everything is perfect until he loses it and then it isn't.

I don’t know. Was it a call directly to the Sheriff’s office? I’m hoping the scanner feed would pick up the dispatch of police to the Morphew residence after they received the missing person’s report.
