Good one-either way, it’s a problem. If he didn’t leave a card or note, I assume LE is curious as to why. I don’t care if most people think “it’s a Hallmark holiday”. This is a woman who had two miracle babies, and was very thankful for that. There are photos of past Mother’s Days, so it was celebrated. He asked Suzanne if it was okay to be away. Even if he didn’t buy a card (a pain during Covid), wouldn’t he just leave a little note? If not, really? Why?
And if you did, was it opened? Why not?

He says he asked Suzanne permission that morning. This is in phase 2 of his explanation. First we hear from his nephew that he went "to Denver for training." Then we hear he spoke with Suzanne that morning to see if it was okay if he went up there on Mother's Day. Then we hear he didn't go there for training, but to set up a work site. Then we find that he never spoke with Suzanne that morning, instead the last time he saw her was at 5 am, and she was sleeping (so no convo that morning).

He seems to be having a bit of a hard time keeping things straight - wonder if he has a timeline written down like Fotis did?
JMO
Or one on a back of an envelop like Frazee...

What I hear is vagueness. “I talked to my wife......”, the rest is muffled and not easily understood, IMO. Subconsciously, he could not bring himself to say, “I talked to my wife MD’s morning,” about the job in Denver, because he didn’t. She was dead already. However, then he is quoted elsewhere saying she was asleep on Mother’s Day at 5 am when he left so surely he did not have this discussion with a sound asleep SM.

We have no idea when he left for Denver or if he ever made it to Denver at all. What we do know is that he was “on the move” Saturday night, likely at the Salida building site. What if he had dropped SM’s body off in an inconspicuous hiding spot (he likely knows many being a hunter) until he had his equipment and dirt from Salida, came back and got her and off he goes to disappear her for good under the cover of darkness in the wee hours of the night, heads home, turns his phone back on at 5 a.m. and heads off to Denver. All JMHO.

susiQ, your second paragraph appears to fit in, to what perhaps happened, when we add in all the info collected.
Now we wait for announcements, which can't come fast enough.
Still waiting....
MOO.

911 calls can"t be made from out of the 911 covered area. Asking some one to call in for you is the only way.
But by calling the regular police line they might patch you through.

Not the only way. Throughout Colorado (and many states) all you have to do is call 911 and tell them what area the emergency is in, and they'll patch you through.

Of course, BM might have assumed otherwise, as many do.

911 emergencies/welfare checks are frequently reported from out-of-area and patched through to whatever agency/place they need to go to. It takes a few more seconds, but in an emergency can be much quicker than trying to locate the police number for business (which may or may not be working on a Sunday - where I live, there's no response to the non-emergency number on Sundays).

Moo. I have to confess, I have not watched the interview with Suzanne's father and brother. I just can't right now. Caring for my own mental health. But poster comments paint a pretty good picture, thanks to all of you.

I get a sense that her family are decent people. Not the type to attack people for the sport of it. I think they must have had suspicions from the beginning, but had no proof to back them up. I think that LE has shared enough of what they have discovered with them, that all doubt is gone. They are now sure who is responsible.

This is encouraging. I don't think LE would have done that if they weren't sure that they have the proof that they need for an arrest. I think they are still hoping to find Suzanne for the slam dunk. Moo

good thoughts-
what impressed me w/ her relatives in the video is that they didn't even allude to BM being guilty. At this stage I think that took great composure and character on their part.

I, too, believe they've gotten hints from LE.
And their main wish right now is to find her body and bring her home to bury.
so very sad, it's best that you don't watch it now, @ Fireflize.

The BBM, " they have built an interactive website about Suzanne's case with some new info, and members got a sneak peek. what does that mean?

911 calls go to a dispatcher, who then directs the call to the proper emergency department ( police, fire, ems) If BM called the Salida police directly, he could have made contact with the police department immediately. And I'm sure any firefighter worth a salt would know the phone number!!!! He chose to have someone else make the call. MOO

BM makes sure, all his actions/answers distance him from Salida, and therefore SM, even phoning 911 etc.

I second or third your wise sentiments, each time he discusses what happened that morning it seems like he uses whatever details seem to make sense in the moment. I do find it interesting that he seems adamant that he left at 5am. This is the only concrete fact hes repeated and it means, there should be no reason for him to be in the area later. It seems odd he would make this commitment to the timeline when hes been so vague about everything else. It makes me think maybe something happened later in the day (he was caught on camera somewhere or ran into someone), but its JMO since theres no real proof either way

We've speculated a lot here about what huge "Whoopsies!" BM could have committed that caused LE to dismiss the bike ride scenario so quickly.

That is definitely one possibility.
If BM didn't try to call SM himself at any point that day, it would be beyond damning.

It would be hard to reasonably explain to LE why he didn't reach out to SM via phone or text after talking multiple times with not just the daughters, but the neighbor as well.

This is way up there on my list of potential errors BM made that day.

I think BM may have been so focused on distancing himself from SM that day that he completely forgot that trying to get hold of her himself was a critical part of playing the role of the innocent, concerned husband.

JMO.

We don't know if BM was trying to phone SM after she was missing.
I would think not, as he has not mentioned this.

Even though he rambles with run-on sentences and mumbles... He does start the ramblings with 'it was mother's day' so I tend to agree with you, he does imply the conversation was on MD.... from the transcript.....

It was Mother's Day so...um...we uh...had two daughters that were coming
home from the trip and I had that job in Denver that I wanted to get started on on Sunday set it up for my workers, my workers were coming in Sunday night. Normally I don't work Sunday night, I work Monday, but I being the owner I wanted to get everything lined up so that I didn't have to worry about Monday morning, just get busy working. So I told my wife, I said, "Listen, the girls are gonna be home; they want to spend Mother'sDay with you. Mind if I go get started with this?" She said, "That's fine...."
Sometimes, when lying or trying to cover up the truth, we go into way too much detail. I feel that’s what he did here, just rambles after pausing for 8 seconds before answering a pretty direct question. Without even answering the question.

@Warwick7 i was just reminding everyone to tune in. i cannot share for discussion bc it's unreleased as of right now, but at 8, during their live, it can be shared. (i say maybe someone else can share at that time, bc i am in the EU and will probably be Zzzzz.)

One other small point: when a loved one is missing and a person gets a chance to speak about it, the vast majority try to say things that will be concrete and aid in finding the person.

"The last time anyone saw Suzanne was when..."

"Suzanne went for a bike ride every Sunday morning, her bike was X color and X model. Maybe someone saw her? Please call the tip line."

"Suzanne was/was not at online church that Sunday morning, she usually went to church and it was online due to CoVid."

Etc.

Did not know that. Good.
