From PE
This is the first I’ve seen or heard what time SMs communication with friend ended. 9:00 p.m.
Wonder if that’s Colorado time or Indiana time? Assuming friend is back in Indiana. Also, they aren’t calling it texting here.
Speculating and JMO : they were on FB messenger.

May 9, 2020 • Maysville, Colorado

At approximately 2100 hours, Suzanne Moorman Morphew is communicating with her best friend on social media about an upcoming wedding. According to reports, the communication suddenly stops. Sometime later, a number of social media communications occur from Suzanne's "profile" but seem out of character to immediate family members and friends.

WHAT ?

Suzanne Moorman Morphew

May 10, 2020 • Mother's Day

Suzanne's husband (Barry) reportedly leaves the home at 0500 hrs for a reported work assignment in Denver, Colorado. He remarks that he doesn't wake Suzanne. Reports say he texts Suzanne a Mother's Day greeting that goes unanswered. Hours later, Barry's daughters contact him and report that their attempts to reach Suzanne go unanswered. Barry contacts neighbor and asks her to check on Suzanne. Neighbor reports that she walked through house and can't locate her. She see's Suzanne and daughters vehicle there. According to reports, Barry asks neighbor to return and see if Suzanne's bike is missing, noting she may be on a bike ride. Neighbor confirms the bike is missing and the neighbor calls the local sheriff to conduct a welfare check.

A couple thoughts about Barry’s interview with Lauren Scharf:

Even now, he’s throwing the animal attack scenario out there. Literally no one believes that happened, and it’s stunning that someone with Barry’s knowledge of the outdoors, would still believe this.

Of course, I don’t believe he does. Mountain lions rarely attack people, and don’t kill them and leave absolutely no trace. That area was searched with dogs, drones, and trained searchers, as well as by family and friends.

Barry knows this did not happen, but he thinks it’s to his benefit to convince people it’s a legitimate possibility.

Secondly, Barry is being criticized for not utilizing the media to get the word out about his missing wife. He’s being criticized for his silence. That’s what makes this hilarious:

And, over the phone, Barry said unfair coverage of his wife’s disappearance has painted him in a bad light, and convinced him to stay silent.

So he’s criticized for being silent, and it’s the criticism that’s causing him to remain silent.

Chicken or egg I guess.

If BM knows the truth everyone is ready to listen.. I think most people are just confused because he keeps changing what his version of the truth is. By all means I cant wait to be enlightened with yet another version of the truth. I honestly think, he thought no one would bother to verify his claims so when then do hes left scrambling....but is a missing persons claim so his unreliable word alone just wont cut it. No ones stopping him from telling the truth or speaking to the media. In many cases where husbands are uncomfortable speaking to the media, the family has chosen another family member or close friend to be their spokesperson... so I mean hes also welcome to pass the torch. Although I doubt anyone else will be pushing the animal story

Been waiting for this one, absolutely knew it was coming. It's a little late that it wasn't in the lion, accident, total stranger abduction scenario.

I am to believe you have a $1.5 million dollar house with a security system already in place , and are worried enough to warn this character not to mess with your family SEVERAL TIMES, but you don't bother to fix the cameras already in place on a high end security system?

So Barry...what made you think this person would mess with your family? If you took this threat seriously enough to warn them several times did you ever file complaint ? Did you warn your family(?) , seems if you were so alarmed, that would have been a given, so they could be aware. Were your daughters on edge, was Suzanne (?), they sure should have been....any family would have been. Did you warn the 80 year old neighbor before sending her in to search your house twice? Do you still think it was a good idea for you not to make the call, since you had this personal knowledge?
Excellent post!!!!!

I just feel compelled to say, if anyone here is in contact with the girls, please ask them to contact their grandpa. And if they dont wish to do so right now, at least let him know they are ok. :( Poor guy could use some kind of peace in his life.
This is so sad and I feel so bad for the grandfather. If BM had a shred of decency he would have his daughters call their grandfather. I know the girls are old enough to call on their own but they are confused and grieving, BM should be encouraging them to call but all he’s doing is making them choose sides and putting them smack dab in the middle of this. He’s horrible. MOO

Checked in to report some notes from the PE video, but you fabulous posters covered it all way better than I would have.

Just one addition. On a sad note, Suzanne’s brother stated that he and his father have accepted the reality that Suzanne is not with us anymore. :(

"Little is known about what efforts Barry is taking. It is reported online that he does take a friend to an area near Crested Butte where he collapses on the ground uttering something about Suzanne."

From PE web page
Wow. I wonder if Crested Butte has special meaning to BM and SM? IIRC she is wearing a CB sweatshirt in that photo of her cooking in the kitchen with glasses on.

In the video with Chris talking to brother AM he tells Chris that BM laid down on the ground when they were searching on Tuesday and LE seemed very interested in the area where he did that.

EDIT by Me for clarity. The place BM laid down on Tuesday couldn’t have been Crested Butte since it’s 95 miles from Salida.

Agree. A decent man would call his father in law himself.

To the bolded point above:

This is a slick way of shifting blame for his own (in)actions onto others.
It's an extremely manipulative technique.

BM is emotionally tone-deaf.
He doesn't realize how bad he sounds here.

How media coverage of SM's disappearance paints HIM should be completely secondary to how coverage of SM's disappearance benefits HER.

His wife is missing, and he's ruminating over "unfair" coverage of him.
Very, very, very Letecia-like, isn't it?
I'm just waiting for him to come out and demand an apology from everyone.

JMO.

Just to be clear- it’s now been confirmed that her bike helmet was found?

That’s what I seem to be reading here- need clarification- thanks -

  • #52
So how many excuses has BM pushed for his wife being missing?

Abducted
Lion
Bicycle accident
Met someone she knew well
Botched investigation by law enforcement
Demise by ex-employee

BBM This is what I heard as well. That he disappeared from the group to another location nearby and laid down on the ground. A friend that was with BM apparently took a picture of him laying down. LE is interested in this area. I don’t think BM also went and collapsed/lay down in Crested Butte. MOO

Absolutely. I agree. At this time, I don’t think the grandfather wants to speak to BM but he desperately wants to talk to his granddaughters. The brother said the grandfather won’t ask any questions he just wants to make sure they are okay. MOO

Yesss and to further this, any information when he does find time to mention anything about the case, he provides way too many vague and unrelated details. I recently read The Gift of Fear (which I highly recommend) and they discuss how sometimes when someone is lying they subconscious provide to many details because although you may believe what they are telling you, they dont sound credible to themselves so they keep talking. In the last interview he jumped from being devastated, to SM being okay with how things have worked out, to the families faith, to why its okay he was confused, to LE's destruction of evidence. I mean BM covered alot of ground, but at the same time he really didnt provide any information about the case. Its like every time he gets in front of someone he feels compelled to talk until he thinks hes said enough and it changes to fit the present situation. Obviously Im no linguistics expert, and their could be a variety of reasons BM chooses to talk about things the way he does, but to me it just seems odd. It doesnt feel natural and IMO its his way of distancing himself from the case while still being able to claim hes trying to be helpful

I thought @Warwick7 was quoting from PE webpage, not the YouTube video.
