There is also something intriguing about BM saying he had his tools with him at a hotel. That is a detail that he feels compelled to give to explain, for some reason, why tools weren’t at a place he typically keeps them.

I didn't get the impression that he was immediately suspicious. He texted her at some point in the morning and got no response. Later he left the voicemail. I think he was just responding how a normal husband would. I'm pretty sure he only called the neighbor after his daughter texted him and said she couldn't reach her mom. I think he was trying to put as much time between when he left and when he had to raise the alarm. Imo

Agreed. If he had texted or called a ton of times in the morning, LE would want to know why he didn’t try to call the neighbor much earlier, or come back home.

The fact that he mentioned the discrepancy to Lauren, tells me that law enforcement probably thought it was a big deal. It sounds like they caught him in a lie.

Barry did admit an inconsistency in one timeline he provided to investigators.

“It was only because I didn’t know the time that I did something, a mechanical thing, to my bobcat,” he said. “I was confused and I just found out my wife was missing, and I was a little bit not in my right mind when they were asking me these questions, but I did the best I could and I answered everything. I never once declined any interview.”

I absolutely agree! It's interesting how he brings up the subject of the Bobcat - almost like he's still kicking himself for not being more cautious with whatever he did to that Bobcat. It's definitely on his mind.

It's obvious that he did not expect the question and did not know how to answer it. If there's one thing Ive learned about these cases - it's to never underestimate the intelligence of the L.E. !

Also, detectives can spot a new shiny object (one of these things just doesn't belong) a mile away.

Do we know whether that old 2003 car was available for BM to use that Saturday night? It only makes sense to leave your phone at home and take a non-GPS car for any nefarious activities.

The bad guy IS an awesome hunter and outdoorsman, according to SM's brother Andy. The Morphews have spent a number of vacations in Colorado and/or that Salida area, and they've lived there 2 years. It's not crazy to think that BM has scoped out much of the surrounding area, noting features of the landscape. If he went into a rage and did something unthinkable, he probably panicked and took her body away, away, from the house, and wandered for a bit, looking for a likely burial spot. SM is out there, and I regret to say she may only be found accidentally by hikers or hunters. MOO.

I understand that the family thinks BM is an awesome hunter but once again, we have only Barry's word for it. Suzanne's brother, IIRC, grew up - like BM - Indiana. Maybe they hunted occasionally, but there are no reports of hunting in the Mountain West or Intermountain West. It's a whole nuther ball game, if you ask me. The Big Leagues (and I am including especially places like the Yellowstone region or up into Canada).

One of the taxidermied heads shown in the Christmas Picture was in the MLS picture when the house was for sale. So BM didn't kill that one - but like everything in his world, there's a spin. He sits under it, and most of us would think he killed all of those animals - I now doubt him rather than believe him, whenever I hear what he says. I'll believe he's a real hunter when some actual, experienced Colorado or Montana or Wyoming hunter says he's hunted alongside the Great Hunter. It's probably like his claims about push-ups. I doubt those too.

SM's brother very likely never went hunting with BM in CO, owing to the lack of contact after BM moved to short time that BM had lived there - they moved to CO during one hunting season and only had one more.

I do believe BM spends a lot of time outdoors, moving dirt and pouring concrete and hardscaping. I can see the physical evidence and the man who ran for Mayor of Indiana says that's what Barry does, and it seems LE thought that was his job as well.

So I agree with your point about him scoping out the landscape - although I truly wonder how far from his house he'd actually wandered. He went to Salida a lot, for companionship at the gym (IMO).

I also agree that right now, the most likely way Suzanne will be found is by hikers or hunters. Off trail hikers. But I think she's very well concealed out there. I do wonder if further use of cadaver dogs at this point might be helpful (that's what families usually set up a G_F_M account for, in a situation like this, IMO). Or does LE have a reason to believe that method wouldn't work?

What was the mechanical thing he was doing?
Is it back home and being held by a search warrant?
Does BM own it or rent it?
Or belong to a fellow construction guy?
What attachments does he have for it?
The bobcat story is bugging me. I'm convinced it an important piece to this puzzle but I can't
put it together. After the 'deed'........
Did he take the bobcat to Salida site and remove the 'dirty' bucket? And replace it or?
Put a clean bucket on it at the site? Or a different attachment?

Re BBM
Yes I listened to PE last night and that is my understanding too. That they think it was the "front bucket scooper thing" that is attached to the front of it. Its shown (barely can see it) in the news video of it when we see it in their driveway. The front bucket portion is resting on the ground in that aerial video of their house so its hard to see it, but its there.

So lets suppose a person was using the bobcat for nefarious reasons and decided to put a body in the front bucket to use it to carry the person to another place. That person may have been worried about blood or DNA evidence that was on the scoop bucket and so they may have replaced the entire bucket scooper.

PE hinted that there may be records somewhere of someone either purchasing or renting a new or used front bucket attachment for it.

From SM social media, I believe BM did hunt in Colorado as far back as 2015.

This article was clearly significant. It resulted in the highway being shut down and dive teams being called in.
