This is pointless unless the task force gives them locations in which to search. I hope they have areas of interest in which they can deploy these people. I don’t think she’s anywhere near that house.

So I’m happy this is happening, but skeptical it will result in anything fruitful.
I agree, @MassGuy, but maybe it will tweak ole Barry a bit.

Accessing G-f---M- $$$. How Often?
.... They annually deposit funds into a bank account directly connected to whomever is designated to receive it Believe me, that money is long gone by now. MOO
@PaulaDC sbm bbm Per website info (excerpted below), looks like $ transfers are made per beneficiary' request. Of course. other fundraisers may operate differently.
But agreeing w you: $$$ may have been spent quickly & may no longer be available to SM fam member searchers. jmo Sad.

"How a beneficiary account works
"When an organizer adds a beneficiary, an email invitation is sent asking them to claim the beneficiary account. Once the beneficiary has accepted that invitation, a separate but linked xxxxxxxx account is created for them. The beneficiary can then access the funds and request a withdrawal ....

"Here's how to receive funds from a fundraiser created for you: ....
As the beneficiary, you’ll have sole access.... You'll need to withdraw the funds within 90 days of the first donation, otherwise all donations will be refunded." bbm

Speaking of tweaking ol’ Barry a bit, I’d gladly contribute toward a fund if LE wanted to rent a large excavator on a flatbed trailer, along with a few motorized augers, and about 25 shovels and park it all just outside his property for a week.

Is Indiana a state where motive is required for a first degree murder charge?

I do not think it's required in all states.

Motive is not an element of the crime of murder. However -- from a practitioner's perspective -- I'd want to give a jury a coherent reason for the unlawful killing. Sometimes a jury really needs to know why the crime occurred in order to view the evidence in a light favorable to the government.

I’d imagine that SM’s best friend must have quite the backstory and text messages and emails on SM & BM’s relationship. She probably knew more about what was going on than BM could ever have dreamed of.

Suzanne Morphew’s brother calls for ‘army search’ in Colorado next month | FOX21 News Colorado

Suzanne’s brother clarified he did not see the recovered bike himself, but said investigators talked to him about what they had found.

“They told me at least the wheels weren’t bent. Nothing was tore up on the bike… and there was no signs of a struggle. And from that moment on – I thought for sure that this was foul play,” he said.
bbm
Yes.
In other words... 'planted' ?
Imo.

I think he is scheduled to be in Denver or Colorado Springs for fire training during the search. Moo
Seriously? Unreal.
Upon second thought, he would just be in the way.

I wonder if these two ever had any marriage counseling.
I've found that guys like BM wouldn't put themselves into that situation cause they always think they're right. Also sets them up to being the "bad guy" in a situation.
And maybe he didn't really want to change the
game. He wanted his cake and eat it too. ??
He doesn't strike me as the kind of man who would even entertain counseling.

Thank you @windrower for your great responses in your post. I struggle trying to decide in my own opinion what could have happened to cause BM to go into a rage and hurt SM (if that’s what happened).

After being together for 32+ years, they certainly would know the buttons which can be pushed, imho. In my mind, it had to be SM confronting BM about a huge issue or she was planning to leave him. (Although I’ll add, there’s not been anything to suggest she was planning that.)
No one should have to worry about buttons which could be pushed. No one. That's dealing with someone who doesn't deserve to be dealt with, IMO.

My heart is breaking for Suzanne's brother.
I can't help but think his search efforts will be in vain.
Sorry for being so cynical.
Seriously hope something breaks before then.
MOO.

In regards to Chris with PE’s tweet, I’ve always been curious if there was 2nd or 3rd party involvement. Not necessarily in the act of murder itself but in the disposal and cover up of such an act. Perhaps a younger person or persons that would buy into BM’s dog and pony show. Maybe people whom BM could promise to pay 6 figures to and that kind of money would change their life. Maybe that is the kind of debt driving BM to sell off assets that aren’t rightfully 100% his. Maybe if that money doesn’t show up soon, those people might want to start talking.
Or even the knowledge of what happened, whether involved or not.

I agree.
I suspect SM has been hidden so well she will never be found but you never know.

How do we know he’s at the gym?

He won a push up contest at the gym. A poster here posted a photo of the lead we board.

Maybe 9/24 is a game changer.

Does that mean that the immediate next of kin, aka BM, would have to be the one to initially request their assistance, and then the CCSO would also have to sign off on it? Or does it mean LE can request directly? I've never really been clear on how that works, and I've read conflicting info over the years.

I think Tim's rules are pretty simple. The request must come from the missing person's immediate family -- in this case BM and/or the daughters. He'll take that to the local LE and if they are OK, then Tim is OK.

I don't think Tim will get involved here without BM making the request. The exposure is too great when his services can be viewed as creating a wedge between families.

We already know that BM believes LE botched the investigation.

Add a well meaning search group answering to the call of his inlaws, BM would likely be all over this -- adding that their presence was interfering with the investigation, and questioning any possible evidence collected as planted against him, because that's what CCSO has been doing -- using BM as the fall guy.

And not to say that Tim would not be sympathetic to the Moorman's.
He's got to protect his service, organization, and his volunteers.

JMO

Not seriously, I was joking. Should have been cleared. Sorry.
