Thanks as always @al66pine for your never-ending research. :)
Yes, statutory declaration of death means judicial resolution--with none of the two exceptions you provided applicable (i.e, SM located alive, her remains recovered).
Confirming death terminates guardianship just as with POA.

Many years ago my daughter's large GMC truck was completely destroyed by a run in with a young deer. So I have no doubt a large elk would have hurt someone very badly depending on the type of vehicle they were driving.
That happened to my Dad too, with a deer. And he was in a 4 door normal size car. It happens in Alaska, the part of the moose that gets hit is right about the thighs, and the animal violently falls over the car/ driver. The heavy part of the animal. But that's on highways where speed is involved, not on winding mountain dirt roads.

<modsnip: Sleuthing BM's social media is not allowed>

Interesting that there was an elk rack with flesh still attached outside of the home. Maybe BM was on a hunt in the days before Suzanne went missing?

JMO
An elk looks very different than a mountain Lion.
IMO

Interesting. I wonder why they don't want people picking up shed antlers? Unless people were hunting under the guise of looking for shed antlers (?)
Explanation at the link. Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
Here's part of it:
"Why are other kinds of recreation and hunting still allowed in areas where shed collection is restricted?
While it is true that these restrictions may overlap with some hunting seasons, the amount of pressure put on the animals will be limited by the number of hunting license holders. Some shed collectors use OHVs and snowmobilese in their search. Loud, fast-moving OHVs and snowmobiles are major sources of wildlife stress. Also, the CPW Commission does not regulate other forms of recreation such as hikers and bikers on other land-use agency properties such as the Bureau of Land Management lands or National Forest land." bbm

Every time I think about BM renting a motel room for his tools, I just keep envisioning BM trying to drive the bobcat into the motel room. :D

But I digress...
Lol!! I needed this laugh tonight.
I had to work knowing I was missing the PE event tonight!!

I wonder if "army of a thousand volunteers" is a deliberate poke at BMs Army buddy who's done 400 tours?

moo
400 that cracked me up ! Nobody alive has done 400 tours to anywhere.

During PE session at about 1:00:06 mark, AM confirms he arrived Salida on May 11, and responded to host Robin Parks that BM picked up roadkill and had the antlers resting against the house. AM confirms the date the cougar was seen was May 13.

(I'm assuming this is not the date BM picked up the roadkill because the house was being guarded by LE on May 13).

I'm baffled why BM left these bloody antlers against his home and not against some distant tree on his 12+ acres far from the residence.

How about heavy equipment?

Still shocked he picked up roadkill for the rack???
Butchered it where?
Wait, what, when, how?
The bobcat bucket?
Elk are kinda heavy
Sounds like he was spinning a tall tale to AM to promote his big cat theory. Big time fine in Texas to pickup road kill for the trophy rack.
This BM is getting more Frazee the more he speaks .

It was “too soon” because he was busy acquiring guardianship in Indiana and multiple real estate deals. Plus his wife was missing! Priorities IMO

To be fair, where BM pointed in the TD video is toward their driveway. AM said the large male cat was spotted in the M driveway 2-3 days after she was reported missing. The cat showed interest in the carcass BM had beside the home with the rack on it...

He doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt but maybe, he was pointing in the right direction. Why would he haul a carcass to his home? Cover scent? Explain blood? Draw a hungry cat out? I think all of those are more likely than another bathroom decoration or chandelier.... IMO
Explain why a gun had been recently used? moo

Maybe BM was baiting a cat? I can't think of any other reason to do such a thing, at such a time. Then again, roadkill trophies happen when they do. What a man!

Chris told AM that they (PE) are friends with 2 of the 4 remaining Benghazi survivors and reached out to them. Forgive me, I didn’t look up their names, sounded like Tig and Oz. He said Tig will be doing something on his website to get the word out and Oz who lives in Colorado is trying to get some scent dogs and come. He said they were going to reach out to Military Vets. Then Chris said “ we’re not going to talk about someone who did 400 missions overseas, we’re going to BRING them. “. yikes

Honestly loving that PE disproving all the BM nonsense in search of the actual truth, and using their resources to make stuff happen! They coming for you BM and there not being subtle

This whole elk rack thing is sketchy at best. I know people will procure deer meat from roadkill but doesn’t it go against alpha maleism to hang a rack of anything that you didn’t legit and legally kill?
Also no marijuana farming in Indiana yet only hemp and subsequent usable CBD. Michigan another story and maybe given GM’a health, Suzanne was about to inherit a large amount of legally permitted marijuana farming? Adios Barry I’m out of here. Oh Suzanne I saw a mountain lion on my way home let’s take a drive so you can see it too. IMO
This is a nightmare but I love PE and AM. Every woman and child on the planet deserves a son, brother, uncle or father who will go to bat for them the way AM has for Suzanne. God Bless them! surviving Benghazi vets? Bring them! Kudos to the incredible crew who is about to make this happen. BM could have never expected this. IMO
^^bbm
PE session at about 1:31:00 mark, the hosts state land was sold to very extended
family so I don't think that SM was set to inherit from a farming business on land that's been sold and no longer in her family. MOO

How about heavy equipment?
Depending on which particular heavy equipment I would have to say the elk would probably lose that battle.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

AM and PE hosts were asking for cavers and mentioned the mines as well. I only recently learned about the caves in the Salida/Chaffee County area during "Valley of the Damned" on Investigation Discovery.
