I admit to getting lost in the guardianship discussions. Why do you think LE would be waiting for that hearing event to happen before making an arrest? What's the possible smoking gun with it? Again, I'm lost in this one.
Because it helps solidify the motive that he did this for money and assets. MOO.

we need Lauren or the @ProfilingEvil guys to call this guy and get the specifics - the way I read it, he found all that stuff in the room, and stayed there until Tuesday and that day turned it over to LE. I'm sure he heard she was missing since BM told him he had to leave the hotel room for a family emergency
JMO

I wonder how Lauren will approach this. She is in a different position than the PE guys, who are like a fly buzzing around Barry’s face. Lauren kept her position as a neutral party in order to make Barry comfortable. This is like an orchestra. Everyone has a part and together, they are building to a crescendo. Who’s the conductor?

Yeah, he must have given him permission to stay there. I wonder why he would leave incriminating evidence behind. It sounds like his alibi didn't add up at all. I don't know why LE wouldn't have arrested him. Megan Boswell was charged with lying to investigators and it took months before she was charged with murder.
It's not a crime to lie to your brother-in-law or journalists. Lie to the police and it is a crime. Seems to me that BM did not lie to LE about being in Denver and that's why he's still free to go hang at the gym and look for SM every day.

Never thought about this. A small sparkle that comes out of it.

The only reason I can think why he has not been arrested is that LE are still hoping to find Suzanne.
Perhaps they are still waiting for a pieces/pieces of digital information. Or they are hoping for someone else to come forward with information.

Maybe BM thought JP was a KK and would clean up the hotel room for him.

BMW's often mistake control and loyalty.

Grateful to JP for turning

JMO
Please, please let there be only one scary
nurse KK on the planet!
Hoping his helpers take a cue from JP

Our Governor deemed hotels essential businesses so they were not closed during Stay at Home orders.

I think they meant the gym, pool, spa in the hotel. Most certainly weren't open yet at that time. Unless the hotel was not following covid restrictions.

sorry one more, was social distancing being enforced at all? and also THANK you

Yes and no. I say this because during all these restrictions all of the outdoors areas were packed here. But everywhere else I witnessed social distancing and restrictions being enforced. I think CO had some of the more extreme stay at home/safer at home restrictions in comparison of other states.

BM has been stingy with details! He did not tell LS about the tools in the hotel room. This info came from AM. BM allegedly told him he had a job in CoSpgs and that he took/left tools to the hotel room for his work crew.
Didn't BM also tell AM that he was planning on staying in Denver for four days?

I cant say for sure, but I Hope its because they want to have a solid case before bringing him in. Until theres a confession or an official arrest theres a limit to how long he can he held in custody. and we know BM just got an infusion of cash that he will no doubt use on his high priced lawyers that which tends to drag it out a bit further

Everytime i hear hotel i can't shake the feeling of another woman, but nothing that really points that way. Jmo

Maybe he pays for that service? jmo

I'm thinking he was hiding the mail from her - so when we know the check in time - that may narrow down when she truly was disappeared
IMO
So maybe SM was with him when he checked in ? And he killed her in the motel? I am I interpreting that right?

One of many proven lies, since the employee (Jeff) said there were no tools available for the job and two days of basically nothing for the employee to do.
Wonder if LE found any dna/blood on the towels ?
MOO

Is anyone still on the fence?

Debbie Downer here (lol) - I'm honestly side eyeing BM in SM disappearance. However, based on what's been permitted to be discussed on WS (the only site I'm personally following this case from), I would not cast a guilty vote at him right now. This DM article doesn't do it for me either, even though I find it interesting. I also think LE has had this information for months.

Now, talking about my feelings, my gut still gives me a little pause in this case. I think some people tend to romanticize victims and those who they feel are justice fighters for them. That does not mean I have negative opinions towards them at all and I don't. At the same time, I don't believe all the negative opinions some have about Barry either. I have said prior, that I believe BM is weak and I still believe that.

I'm leaning more towards BM being the bad guy here but no way am I comfortable yelling guilty, burn in h**l.

With Gannon's case, I was absolutely on-board with LS murdering that poor kid.

I also like open discussions and would find these conversations incredibly boring if all members thought the same thing. I enjoy hearing opposing views. I'm hoping some of our defense attorney's chime in with their thoughts as well.

IMO

It doesn't make sense to me. Why would the hotel staff allow someone to check into a room that had not been cleaned and the towels replaced? How does that explain the sudden end to the conversation Suzanne was having with her friend if Barry was 2 1/2 hour away in a hotel room? Why would Barry do all that driving back and forth and never show up at the jobsite knowing his alibi could be easily confirmed by LE?

Did he bring Suzanne with him to the hotel on Saturday night?

MOO. The room had been reserved and checked-in by BM. If BM invited or asked JP to stay at that room for the "job" the next day, there isn't any reason why the hotel would have done a room/guest changeover, because JP was not a new guest, rather a guest of a guest.

I think it's possible that BM didn't drive to the hotel until after the sudden ending of the text convo SM was having with her friend. We don't know that the landscaping job he told JP about actually even existed. JP states in the DM article he stayed in the hotel for two days, then left.

Regarding BM's alibi. Well, he's had several, so, maybe not so well thought out on his behalf.

Ah yes, the rock solid explanation of BM driving to a hotel 3 hours away and disinfecting COVID with bleach, only to leave out dirty towels for his coworker that is showing up later for a job that doesn’t exist with no tools, and BM isn’t even staying there that night. Makes perfect sense.

I think BM might want to consider saying that he’s being framed by that mountain lion, who followed him to Broomfield, covered the bathroom in bleach and then stole his tools.

It’s like he passed alibi 101…make an outline… Where were you, (out of town) who were you with,(people) make yourself available (loosely) in that timeframe somewhere with CCTV/ electronic purchase/store or motel will do/etc. Watch your GPS and bobcat thingy’s…..

but then failed alibi 102, fill in the blanks for your outline. No Barry, tools are not witnesses. No Barry, You couldn’t have been three different places, you needed to pick one.

This may have been mentioned already, thread is flying too fast for me to catch everything.

This statement, even if there was nothing nefarious that happened in that hotel room. Say, it just happened to smell like chlorine due to extra cleaning measures because of Covid. Why would Barry take a shower if he had just left his house at 5am that day?

Speaking in an exclusive interview, Puckett told DailyMail.com: ‘I got there Sunday night and the room smelled like chlorine real bad.

‘It was his room and he’d taken a shower – his towels were all over the floor.’

Husband of missing Colorado mom spent the night before her disappearance at cheap Denver hotel | Daily Mail Online
Why would he be disinfecting the room just before he left in the late afternoon, and taking a shower presumably just before rushing home to help find missing wife? He arrived in Salida at either 6 or 9 pm. If he left at 5 am, he could have been there...when, at 8am? So if he checked in then, wouldn't he disinfect the room right then? And air it out because of the chlorox? But if he was busy that morning (!) And checked in at mid day, why would he disinfect it just before taking the shower, or..after?

Anyway I call BS because no business owner calls his employee in the morning of Mothers Day to tell him to go to a hotel for work in the morning. And then never arrange any work for the employee.

So the story doesn't make sense.

Maybe the pool was open since I think the restrictions were lifted on May 8th, if I'm remembering correctly. Going for a swim would be a good way to get cleaned up and relieve stress. He must have a had a very busy evening.

  • #639
My thoughts along the lines of a swimming pool were that possibly he went swimming (maybe even with his clothes), thinking this would remove evidence. It will be interesting to see if there's any evidence that he bought some bottles of bleach somewhere during this time frame. MOO.

I don't really know what BM meant about being able to work in the area after leaving the employees in CoSpgs to correct deficient work (crooked wall). I assumed he meant that he returned to Salida. I think we can pretty much discount anything that BM told others-- except for what he told LE.
