Speculation, but as a former inmate, JP could also be on parole/probation right now. If that was the case, JP has a very compelling reason to be 100% truthful and upfront about anything he knows. BM, not so much.

I would not be at all surprised if BM doesn't purposefully surround himself with people who he assumes have beefs with LE.

What he doesn't get is that most people accept responsibility for foolish decisions, and don't need to hate LE, who are just doing their job.

But in his reality, he'd expect them to take his side and protect him at all costs. Because after all, he's just so awesome and worthy of their blind devotion.

That ego of his sure works against him. He must have had such a difficult time navigating the professional world. He has needed a lot of propping up but I'm thinking that no one can get him out of trouble this time. Moo

I'm cooler-less dagnabbit! Will order one today. :)
could the Girls camping have had all the coolers? I take a lot when I camp....

My guess is by now, LE has the GPS (which apparently doesn't match what the husband told LE per AM) and so they are working out exactly what was going on Saturday May 9 after the sudden stop of the messaging between SM and her friend - his whereabouts are important IMO. Wonder if they passed out those flyers in downtown Salida because they have information he wasthere? And let's not forget the request of the security camera footage and those dates.
I'm still wondering if she wore a fitbit or apple watch...

Also, I updated the timeline and included some new information starting on May 9

thank you for your work here.

yes and remember LE wanted videos from
May 8-12th. Wonder if they are tracking the moving around of heavy dirt equipment.
Was he getting machinery at the right places
for his weekend crime?
More premeditation??

That’s a good point. I know we can’t sleuth JP but BM said he spent 9 yrs in jail so that sounds serious. I loved it when JP said it was either foul play or the aliens got her! My thoughts exactly! :D

Well if they did, they’d be back home now & that would be the end of that. Doesn’t seem to be the case.

Sure they could have. But that would just be another in a long list of amazing coincidences.

And assuming the family has camped before, they probably have a couple Yeti coolers for camping while BM might have a couple large coolers for hunting and his work.

And while I love a cold beer while I camp, I’ve never brought a cooler the size that you would have for hunting or construction projects.

It's really nasty that BM is throwing JP under the bus because he's an ex-con. Sure, lots of ex-cons are just waiting to resume their life of crime, but there are plenty who have learned from mistakes and only want to move forward, not end up locked up again. Those are the ones we don't hear about. They go about their lives, doing the best they can. I don't doubt JP's account, I think he knows lots more he didn't share with the media, and I think it's another example of BM's arrogance to throw him JP into it because he's an ex-con, so obviously he must be guilty of something.

Puts soapbox away for now.

MOO
The irony of it all. We have two physically similar men. One of which has completed his debt to society...the other about to beg for only 9 years.

This makes me wonder if there was more to JP's interview with LS that was not shared but LS relayed it to BM? Probably not.

IMO, JP didn't say anything that was really damming about BM. At least not to me. He basically said the dude used the shower, left towels on the floor, left trash and maybe slept in the bed and they both agreed the room smelled. It was supposed to his (JP) room. I think it was understandable he was frustrated about being there and the job falling apart. Not sure how long it took for him to be compensated but he said he was. Unless BM is really that short fused and easily offended.

I know humor should not come into this case but I admit this made me laugh. I got a kick out of JP's statement here. I agree man, I agree. ha

“I mean it’s either foul play or an alien has got her ,and we know that aliens are far-fetched you know what I’m saying but someone just doesn’t walk off the face of the earth like that and disappear it’s just not normal, it’s just not normal at all,” he said.

Oh no jinx! Posted the same thing about JP saying foul play or aliens before I read yours. I gotta love a man who even thinks about aliens!

BM appears to be confident in his timeline. He thinks he’s got his ducks all lined up neatly, except for that Bobcat mechanical thing, late Saturday night.

There is a possibility that BM actually was at the job site in Denver, early Sunday morning, prepping the wall repair. He may have been there for the day, before checking into the motel late Sunday afternoon.

I want to know what happened in the dark, late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. I don’t think BM was sleeping.

I'd imagine they could have but wouldn't they return them? ( I'm the worst person to ask..I've never been camping)

Nancy Drew and the Case of the Crooked Wall.

My take: the wall wasn't crooked ever. It was just a story and a suggestion, an explanation for moving a crew to Broomfield. No soil, no machinery, workers paid to hang quiet in the hotel. The alibi IMO, such as it was, was only one layer deep. "BM, where were you?" "Up near Denver, setting up for my workers." Setting up what? Where? With what permit? With what equipment? Bet he didn't figure anybody'd ask any follow up questions.

Too bad his alibi only covered the period of time during which there was never a bike ride.

Well, not too bad for LE. Too bad for him.

Where was he between noon and noon, Saturday to Sunday? The only timeline that matters.

I think LE's close --

This !

Sadly I fear that BM may be preventing the girls from any conversations with LE.
Although they may have spoken with them early on in the investigation ?
Imo.
IMO
2 things may be at play with the daughters-
One is their biblical respect for the father in their family. That can really be ingrained.
It may not be in their nature to speak against him, period.
And like someone mentioned earlier, if they give up on their father, they have no one close by as family. Scarey for them.

But the other point is, we don't know how far
any familial abuse spread around in that family. Was BM abusive and mean to everyone? Did he lie and manipulate everyone?
IME some abusive fathers hide their bad behavior toward the mother from the children.
Also this is their only family they have lived in so they may not have enough life experiences to know what's bad behavior of a father and what's normal.
The dynamics in an abusive household can be very strange and people outside this family may not know much about it as it's often well hidden.
So I cut the girls a pass however they deal with this. They are major victims here.

These are just some data points I am putting together as I consider BM’s transportation from Salida to Broomfield. I’ve been curious when, where and how often he might need to stop for gas.

If he took the F350, which seems likely given the data I’ll show below, it also means he drove a vehicle with gps.

F350s appear to have either 38 gallon or 48 gallon tanks depending on the model.

An F350 gets 20 miles per gallon on the highway.

Salida to Broomfield is between 150 - 170 miles if you take either of the most direct routes.

If we are conservative and say BM’s F350 is the 48 gallon model and it got 20 miles per gallon that is 960 miles per tank.

BM was most likely towing something which reduces the gas mileage and I don’t think you’d get the true 20 mi/gal hwy when driving through those roads in Colorado.

Being conservative, let’s say he got 15 mi/gal which would be 720 miles.

So theoretically he could drive from Salida to Broomfield back to Salida back to Broomfield on a single tank of gas.

Since BM seems to be aware of cameras, he’d most likely know that a stop for gas would capture him on video and could mess up his self described timeline.

But since we’ve learned from AM that BM’s story doesn’t match his GPS data, it makes me think he didn’t realize his truck would show where he’d been and when.

So I get the feeling BM fueled up the F350 under the guise of this work trip and because he could haul things like a cooler, tool box, bobcat and not look out of place, while also knowing that a full tank would let him make multiple trips without needing to fuel up.

I bet the GPS will tell and interesting story and I have a feeling those locations will be crucial to the search happening in late Sept.

Now the question is, will BM panic and go to the site of the body first in an effort to move or further conceal it?

Mother's Day

The house smelled like bleach.
The hotel room smelled like chlorine.

What did BM smell like?

“I did nothing wrong in the hotel"

Hmm so where did you do something wrong?

he said with with a lot of conviction in his voice, its the first time i have heard him sound convincingly and passionately truthful. The way he said "in the hotel" however sounds very telling to me.

I think those two cars at the house the neighbor didn't recognize belong to Cassidy and Morgan. Which means Barry drove from the Puma Pass home to the hotel with them in his vehicle. I doubt there was any funny business. Barry must have dumped the body before leaving at 5 am on Sunday. MOO.

Wouldn’t it be a huge liability to have a wall near the highway that is not up to code? Wouldn’t a contractor get sued if he did not fix that within weeks or a month as opposed to almost a year later?

But I also wonder, why Broomfield? Maybe that is the furthest project from Salida that BM has ever done and he choose that location for distance reasons only?

JP said there was no machinery or any equipment on the jobsite when he got there.
