Would someone with a profession like BM insure their tools? Thus providing the insurer with an inventory of the tools and their value?

That would help identify if any of BM’s tools were missing. Maybe that property insurance letter was also the coverage of said tools and he was trying to throw it away to protect against LE finding out his inventory and what might be immediately missing the same day his wife is reported missing?

I don’t remember the exact quote so I’m paraphrasing, but Barry said (and he did use something close to this), that the workers had to “figure it out” as far as wall fix went when he hightailed home.

Depending on the cost of the equipment, they could be named under an inland marine policy. Yes, it sounds ridiculous to be classified as “marine” coverage, but that’s the coverage. Big stuff requires serial #s etc. I also did wonder if the insurance doc in the trash was proof of GL coverage for the wall job (required). But Jeff would know about that stuff, I think.

In case anyone is wondering - the traffic cams you can look at along highways don't record. Someone's cameras in the neighborhood might, but the ones everywhere else don't. So you don't have to be canny to get around them and no one could verify you did or didn't do anything by looking at CDOT data because there is not any.
One thing there IS, however, is toll data along some stretches of 470 - they take pictures of your tag and send you a bill. I don't know if he passed any of those or not. AFAIK they are on the east side of Denver only.

If he took tools into the hotel it will surely have been captured on camera, If he left with no toolbox that will also be on camera and if that's the case where are these tools now ? did he enter with a tool box or a cooler disguised as a toolbox?
Speculation on my part but could that cooler have been the thing cleaned with chlorine leaving the strong smell?

The problem with that then would be what happend to the cooler if he never left with it, did he leave it some place else at the hotel? maybe he smashed it up in his hotel room into bits that could then be disposed of in the trash and or small enough pieces to make it unidentifiable on camera when taking it back out to his truck.

I think the daughters did speak to LE, especially in the beginning stages of this search. It's just routine, especially in the beginning stages of a missing person case. Now, if they continued as the months went on, hard to say. These questions from investigators, IMO, would have been more uncomfortable, more directed at perhaps BM. That would be tough and confusing for sure.

I might be odd one out on this one but I'm not a fan of PE calling them out, whether it's the oldest because of the G*M funds and an attempt to have them allocated for SM brother's search or saying recently they might have important info for LE. While they are not 12 year olds, they are, IMO, very young. Leave them alone and let LE work that. I don't think they will feel compelled, by unknowns to them, that have a show. Again, just my opinion.

So I wonder if that letter was indeed related to insuring his tools, or more broadly his business but also covering tools.

As you mentioned, it looks like this is coverage someone like BM would have.

I guess it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to keep a bill or policy for that coverage in your work truck. That way you could call or file a claim if something happened while you were on a job site. Maybe BM needed to dispose of that letter because he knew when he got home his truck would be under suspicion and didn’t want a full list of tools that he owns but some of them to be missing to be found in his truck.

don't forget, he KNOWS the cameras are there and were watching, bc he was sure to say that in his interview with lauren last night. surely he wouldn't make a rookie-murderer mistake like walking in with a big cooler but not leaving with it. i would think he was being methodical at every step he made at that hotel, but who knows. anything is possible with this crazy case.

Also it's possible that the fbi mentioned the lack of any coolers after they'd spoken with the daughters and expected to find x amount of coolers only to discover they were missing ?
That might not mean much (maybe they were older coolers and had been taken to the dump ?) in and of itself.
It's just that this was an extraordinary chain of events.

I'm guessing he needed the bobcat for the job. That might be his excuse for fixing it late at night - the problem showed up when he was ready to load the bobcat to go to the jobsite.

I'm curious about this job. Were the other two folks at the hotel supposed to be working the same job as JP?

If so, I wonder how long the other two waited at the hotel before giving up and going home.

has he admitted that it was him at the job site that the neighbor heard? or was it just some unidentified person? wonder if he's admitted to police if it was him or not. i don't think we have a definitive answer for that, do we?

Very unprofessional behavior; imo.

If you hire a crew to repair a faulty retaining wall on the interstate or wherever; you at least need to provide them the tools to get the job done.

So, what happened to BM's equipment ?
This isn't something you throw away or accidentally leave at a different job site.

I just wonder if the 3 worker names had been out there for some time, with the press hounding them for interviews. I had heard the other names, but not Jeff’s. And Jeff decided to be the first one to speak publicly. He really didn’t implicate Barry, just stated what Barry c0nfirmed.

I think the names have been out there on Social Media. LS and PE probably see it way before we do because we are not allowed to discuss it.

I would bet BM is just seething because AM is going to be coming with his search party. He is probably wishing they would just stay home. It must be intimidating for him..perhaps he thinks they are all picking on him.

I wish they were getting there even sooner and I hope the weather holds for them.
