2 other workers were there, man named ____ and woman named _____. But they aren't saying when these people got there or if there were different rooms, maybe they will specify that. JP was very upset because he had no equipment, etc.

Was just listening to Nancy. Crime Stories with Nancy Grace At 32:50 and further, she describes "it looked like the bed had been laid in".

Huh... I know contractors share rooms to save $, but ummmm, "the bed" vs. "one of the beds"? I would assume that room had two beds if he was coming to room with him.

Also, again... if Barry left early to go to work site to ready it... he already had napped and showered? Yet never went to the site?

I'm confused....

  • #522
Definitely agree. And isn’t BM supposed to be a millionaire? Surely, he could afford an extra room?
Maybe he was planning on playing sharesies?

BBM:

Oh, man.
This is so freaking transparent.
So. Transparent.

We now all know why BM picked JP for the (nonexistent) repair job in Denver.
He's just told us himself.

He picked JP because he had a criminal record, which would make JP the perfect patsy.
Because, hey, who's going to believe the felon over the upstanding husband and father?

Nice try, but NO, BM.
Sorry.
Again, we're not buying what you're selling, because it's trash.

Here's the problem:

Why would BM call a random guy who'd been in prison for 9 years, a guy that had never worked a job for him before, and ask him to come do a rush repair job when he had his own crew?

BM is trying to be so crafty.
He's starting to put me in mind of Wile E. Coyote.
All he needs is an ACME kit.

JMO.

YES. I wish I could like this to infinity. I wonder how long Barry had this subterfuge in mind. It's becoming easier to see how BM thinks and what his mind was up to. No wonder JP spoke openly to LE - he knows the score.

Yep, BM expects us (or a jury) to believe him over JP. Except of course, BM will be sitting in a seat where he's really unlikely to be allowed to testify. His attorney won't allow it, is my bet.

Oh man, this is going to be gold. Barry throwing JP under the bus. Sounds like that DM article got him all fired up yesterday. “Listen, listen, JP was in prison for 9 years...”

“I’ve heard the FBI Lie and I know, legally they can do that” -BM

I believe the slow drip campaign is working.

The barn door is open and letting the horses out.
Sorry, Sheriff
You can hold it closed for a while, but with the passage of time and a case this high profile, you can’t keep witnesses silent.

The thing is, I don’t see a great deal of harm being done here. In fact, I think in some ways this helps law enforcement. Barry knows where he screwed up, and probably has a decent idea of what law enforcement has on him.

He knows he’s the prime suspect, and most importantly, he’s talking. That can only hurt him.

Pressure can pay dividends. Just ask Letecia Stauch.

It’s happened, but it doesn’t make sense to me with the facts we have. That alibi looks to me like it was thrown together last second.

Impersonating someone else, or having someone else impersonate you, takes a lot of time and effort; there are a lot of moving parts.

Here’s an example of one that was premeditated, and required the aid of a willing participant.

Alleged accomplice lays out murder plot: "It's done," witness says Douglas Stewart told of his wife's killing

I don't actually think this is what happened, but you can't really disregard the most outrageous when you know stupid criminals have actually tried that "outrageous" thing, more than once.

BM got the room for JP. Next morning saw piece of mail in trash, had to do with property insurance. Looked like BM had just showered, laid on bed for awhile and just left. JP's name was even on the door. Lauren does not know if BM ever had his own room.

Who knows if Barry even said that was the room he was in. Luckily, the mail was there or otherwise it could be stated later by the defense that this room was just not cleaned by the housekeeping staff prior.. and that is why wet towels on floor and bed slept in?

If there are new developments in this case or information is going to be released it will be disseminated through an official written press release.
Thank You
John A. Spezze

Bravo!

I love this statement by the CCSO.

It's superb.

Sheriff Spezze, I tip my hat to you sir. The fact that I'm not wearing a hat, notwithstanding.

I may be the only one who doesn't think it is strange that he took a shower there and rested (aside from the chlorine). But why was he there anyway? If he didn't set the job up?

Well, he had hoped to go swimming. So he arose early and went to the hotel. Where the pool was closed. Disappointed, and with nothing else to do (there was no job to set up), he splashed around extensively in the bathtub in his room, somehow wetting most of the towels (which had been over bleached by the hotel staff). Then he took a nap.

It was Mother's Day, after all.

BBM:

Now, now…chin up!

There are some wonderful Barrys in the world:

Barry Manilow.
Barry Sanders.
Barry Gibb.
Barry Williams, who played Greg on "The Brady Bunch."

Besides, to quote my main man William (Shakespeare, not Occam):
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

If you'd like, maybe we can all start referring to you as "The Good Barry."

As opposed to, well, YOU know….that other one we're all talking about.

JMO.
Right
Hi Good Barry.

That's a very good point. If the room was in JP's name, why did BM use it himself? Taking a shower in a work colleague's room (even if he's the boss) sounds really weird and suspicious to me.
I'm starting to give the patsy theory some thought and I have to wonder if this is the guy BM said threatened his family.
Still don't know if I heard correctly (or was it read it?) where BM said he how after he warned this 'maniac' but then hired him to do a job? Didn't make sense so I chalked it up to misheard or misspoken.
Someone, anyone?

  • #532
So according to LS on NG, when JP got to his hotel room, someone had been there before him and left chlorine smelly wet towels and had been on the bed.
I always thought BM took a nap on Mother's Day. I think he had been awake about 30 hours straight, doing all kinds of dirty deeds. Moo of course.

  • #533
But shouldn’t he have his OWN room?
I don't know, I just don't see it as that gross that he showered in the employees room. I just want to know when he got there and what he was doing before that. And why he apparently had his own personal stash of chlorine, and why he was worried about covid in someone else's room...I'm not making excuses for him at all, just that if he really had legit reason to be there for a short time that day, why not relax in the room he was actually paying for instead of renting a whole new room. "If he had a legit reason to be there".

BM can NOT stand it! He’s like a child needing to get in the last word.

IIRC, in the Nancy podcast, LS said she called BM to get a reaction and he did not answer, but called HER back later. He couldn’t stand keeping quiet. His own words are going to be his unraveling, IMO.

He threw some chlorine tabs in there, just so he could have the “swimming pool experience.” Probably were a bathing suit too.

I just want to know what a search of that room turned up.

  • #536
Did he really say that?
"Look, i've heard the FBI lie. I know they can legally do that..." BM to LS

canceling plans for tonight, I need to hear this!

  • #537
JP got there Sunday evening after 6 pm, Lauren not sure if it was before 7. 911 call was just before 6 pm from neighbor. Nancy wondering why BM left before 911 call went in.

I recall a situation where I was worried about someone and alarm bells went off in my mind. Within the 40 minute drive to the persons home, I had called the numbers probably 10 times. Called cell/landline/cell/landline/cell landline...all while driving. You get the picture.

Yet, I was concerned for the welfare of the other person vs. Barry?

  • #538
Totally agree! I can only hope more information is forthcoming!

LS has done a great job. IMO the traction really began when @ProfilingEvil got involved.. They have taken this to the next level!

  • #539
Did he ever say if the other 2 people were in a different room, or 2 different rooms? Same room?

One of the other workers was said to be a woman, so automatically, she should have come in later that day with P & C yet had her own room. I would think due to the timing/urgency, perhaps all 3 arrived around 6? Would be suspicious if one arrived early perhaps unless Barry met that person at 8 am when he got there and checked in and went to the site to prepare? MOO.

  • #540
Goldie Locks and the Three Bears. Who’s been sleeping in my bed?

The hotel has to have clear video of BM entering his workers room, that he (BM) reserved, assuming using his own credit card, right? Was he really trying to sneak around here?

I sometimes overthink details and get stuck. I’m there right now with this hotel room.

IMO
