By "eyewitness" I literally mean a witness who saw the actual crime take place. It would be extremely rare for an eyewitness to exist and yet police take no action.
I get that, but rarely do we have an eyewitness to a missing/murder victim. I feel confident that LE is collecting evidence and soon we will have more answers.
I want justice for Suzanne.

Oh man, this is going to be gold. Barry throwing JP under the bus. Sounds like that DM article got him all fired up yesterday. “Listen, listen, JP was in prison for 9 years...”

Was he really in prison for 9 years? If so, for what?

Rule of Evidence 609 does allow a witness to be impeached with a prior conviction but -- in general -- the conviction must be under 10 years old and it must be for a crime of dishonesty (theft, fraud, perjury, false informing).

I agree with you, he's going to do what he feels comfortable with. Though I think a shovel is much quieter than a machine.
JMO but I think he just threw her over a cliff in an isolated area.

We all want justice for Suzanne, but crimes are not always solved with an arrest. There are many crimes where police know who is responsible but simply do not have the evidence to obtain a conviction.

They almost certainly know Barry did this, but they still have to prove what “this is.” Namely, that Suzanne was murdered by Barry.

Say you know the bike was staged, you can prove Barry staged it, the alibi is garbage, his gps data shows inconsistencies, you can show he lied repeatedly: that still doesn’t prove murder.

Without a body, this case is going to be made up of a ton of pieces. When this happened, I figured we wouldn’t see an arrest before 6 months. It just struck me as that kind of case. It’s different than the Stauch and Berreth cases, which included the dumbest killer alive, and a cooperating witness, respectively.

I have no doubt they’ll get there though, and I actually don’t think they are very far off.
Okaaaay. Fiinne.
But, I don't like it because in the end it is all about ME. :D

At roughly four months in, I’m not ready to suggest that police do not have the evidence to obtain a conviction. Some cases can take years, but they do end up with a successful conviction.
I’m not throwing in the towel just yet :)

Omg, that is why BM chose JP. He thought he would be a good suspect to hand over for his wife's murder, due to a prison record. Holy cow. What a pompous jerk! Moo of course.
It sure seems that that was the idea. It's a poorly-executed idea, however. Poor JP! No wonder he thought he was being set up!

Hopefully this is not one.

Praying for justice. I have a very strong feeling, justice will prevail here.

Podcast resumes at 9:44 Crime Stories with Nancy Grace

This kind of got buried with all the other developments but I do think it's worth pointing out that BM's subconcractor JP did in fact go to the jobsite in Bloomfield, despite the info in the DM article to the contrary.

Beginning at just around 10:45 he describes to LS what he saw there, at the job site.
No dirt to do the job, and no equiptment or tools either, which made him really upset.
So then he left, Tuesday afternoon.

If the government cannot connect a person to a crime, it cannot make a case against him/her. If the investigators in this case do not have blood, DNA, or any such evidence linking a person to Suzanne, then they will have to rely on eyewitness testimony. The problem, though, is that if such an eyewitness existed, we'd probably know by now (and an arrest would've been made).
replace DNA with bones and that's about right see the Woodchipper murder.

It just sounded to me like JP arrived alone, there was nothing like "When we got there.....". Even though he said he entered the room alone, you'd think he would have referred to all of them getting to the hotel. Like, my hotel room was a wreck and smelled of chlorine, but the other room(s) were pristine.

Do we know if JP and the other two workers knew each other? They may have been people BM had used before, perhaps even knew each other. This was the first time JP was working for BM on a BM job.

'Cuz if they did get together, you know JP would have asked the other two how their rooms smelled!

Who is Dan May?

DA who prosecuted (and won) the 'no body' Kelsey Berreth case. VERY tough call - he had to make, in his words, a 'deal with the devil', aka Krystal Lee.
