I haven't fully caught up yet, so maybe this has been covered but I doubt that BM stayed in the hotel room on Saturday night.
The Daily Mail's conclusion/headline seems to be based on JP's assumption that BM had spent the night due to the used towels/etc. They don't say that the hotel confirmed he had checked in on Saturday and obviously JP can't know for sure since he didn't get there until Sunday night. My personal guess is that the room was reserved for Saturday night to allow BM to access it early on Sunday without waiting for check-in time. And then he showered and did whatever else after he arrived on Sunday morning.
The reason I say that is because it seems like it would be helpful for BM's alibi if he were in Denver earlier than previously thought. That narrows the window when he could have harmed Suzaane. So why would he risk lying to law enforcement about it? I could see it if he was trying to hide the hotel room itself, but from what AM said it sounds like he was telling everyone about the hotel room, the worker and the job with the faulty wall right from the start.
To me, easily the most damning part of JP's story is the lack of tools/dirt. That certainly makes the whole job seem like a quickly set up alibi attempt. And if it was, then the exact time that BM talked to JP on Saturday would be interesting to know.
