IMO there is no possible logical reason to not give the money to the search efforts. Theres no excuse good enough to justify this. Its truly unconscionable and shows how little BM truly cares about his wives recovery efforts

Not only should BM give all the money from the original fund, he should also donate his own cash to AM's search. But that's what an innocent person who actually wants to find his wife would do.

Me too. Desperate men do desperate things.
Yes. Absolutely.
I don't think he would harm his daughters but we don't know his frame of mind right now. He's probably been freaking out and the heat is getting hotter.
I expect the daughters trust their dad and feel he's a protector and can't fathom what has really happened. And I also suspect they're somewhat frightened because their gut is telling them something they don't want to believe.

Perhaps he was trying to stick to the truth as he did not expect his story of the bike ride not to be immediately not believed and thought LE would be supporting good old BM the brave firefighter so taking a lie detector test would not be a problem as no awkward questions would be asked.
BBM:

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Hoo, boy.
Thank you for that.
I needed a good laugh.

BM, trying to "stick to the truth."

Good one!

Barry doesn’t seem to learn from his mistakes. He had to fire a guy because he messed up a job due to drugs. Then he worries about the guy being a threat to his family, but doesn’t think twice about leaving his wife home alone, no security cameras. He doesn’t even think twice about her off alone on a bike ride while he’s gone, can’t even warn her what kind of car the bad guy is driving. So what does he do next? Hire another guy that he doesn’t trust. And then pats himself on the back for giving the guy a chance.
Everything Barry does is self-serving.
Everything.
He doesn't give a darn about others. He only pretends he does.
there is no end to his emotional depravity.
He has no inner soul. No empathy.
I need to stop but the more we see of this guy,
the more morally bankrupt he becomes, in my eyes.

BM's style of rebuttal seems to be throw it back 10 X as hard. He plays hardball. Nobody is gonna mess w/ the tough guy.
BULLY!!!!!!!!!
poor Suzanne.
That phone interview showed how aggressive he was in my opinion. That was not the voice of a heartbroken spouse.

The case that this most reminds me of is Susan Powell, not that they have small children, but I do believe the camping trip was a convenient plan for BM to have time for his diabolical plan. I am not of the belief that he just came in Saturday night and an argument ensued and something just happened off the cuff. I feel that he had plans made, claims of a class or job so he could be out of town, hotel reservations and a supposed job that he could call a worker to come and do so he could have an alibi to head home. then he wanted us to believe she went "missing" I would not be surprised if he has told Suzanne's girls that he has to do this and that with money so one can stay in college and the other can have the same lifestyle she is accustomed to. I just pray that if and when it comes down to brass tacks that we are not looking at an ending like the Powell children endured.

It's strange how many murders are entangled with a warped view of religious beliefs.

I hope when an arrest is coming that it's totally
surreptitious, no warning, no chance of some hothead doing a hostage situation.

Yeah, hopefully they take him down in a very public place both for the safety of his girls and for the increased shame it will give him.

He doesn't fix the security cameras OR put in a land line for her, since her cell did not have good service. Wasn't he worried about his daughter's being there alone with no cell service and no security cams?

I wonder if they did still have a landline but SM’s family did not have that new number? I’m sensing some possible tension between SM and her family in IN. There seems to be a disconnect. Was there some maybe strong opinions on their plan & ultimate move to CO? I’m not suggesting it’s anything earth shattering but families can have words with each other, then the silence starts. Perhaps some disagreements over BM & his wild plans?

At the same time, many people do get rid of their landlines (I did about 8 years ago) and use cell phones only. I guess I’m having a hard time believing that this family, including the young daughters, one away at college, had ongoing issues or were controlled in their everyday lives with communicating with people, including SM.

Doesn’t it also appear that SM social media goes silent or private after or leading up to the move to CO?

It also sounds that maybe her 2nd bout of cancer happened after they moved to CO.

Rambling opinions by me only.

Thanks for the info in appreciate it, I just can't fathom her Mom passed away and I don't know but thought he was living on his own after she passed
So it seems very odd that she would not call to talk to her Father but with no landline and bad cell reception at the house and I'm sure her dad didnt text maybe that is the reason for no or limited contact.
I think she was alienated from her own family, you know sometimes isolation and being cut off from fiends and family was part of that alienation of her family.

I'm a little confused on the timing of her mom's death and father's remarriage. Base on that 1994 wedding announcement they list her mom with a different surname so I thought her parents had been divorced for quite a while. Did her dad only remarry after his wife (her mom) died?

Yes, but it sounds like SM and the girls could always use texting or Facebook messaging at any time. And if they were in town, they could actually talk on their cell phone any time they wanted to anyone back in Indiana. And frankly, anyone on either side could write a letter and stick it in the mailbox anytime they wanted. So, what was going on, really?
I've wondered if SM's family in Indiana didn't
start getting a negative impression of BM for some of his past behaviors that he could not hide or that SM shared with them.

sometimes these controlling types want to separate their family from prying eyes that may know too much.
Isolate and Control.

His name possibly was MUD to her family.

There's just so much secrecy in this guy's behavior. So much he's tried to hide.

When all is said and done I think we'll be flummoxed at the deceit he's been involved with. Get ready as it spills out.

If the Morphew family wants to communicate from home, they are text dependant. Unlike their neighbor that went to the home to check for vehicles, and returned home and called BM, they have no landline. It follows that AM would phone BM as he'd have a greater chance of reaching BM within cellular coverage since he typically works away from home whereas SM did not. If BM was responsible for eliminating the landline at their home then in that sense he was controlling accessibility. MOO

She had a phone, too, though, as well as the girls. Why not call the Ms in IN while in Salida or any other place with better service. There's another dynamic within the family that we aren't privy to.

The missing tools is strange - BM says he left them there but JP says there wasn't any tools there - wasn't there 2 other people there to work? Is it possible BM contacted them and asked them to move them to somewhere?

Missing tools is a problematic thing for me. If I am not mistaken, BM was/is not a huge contractor with hundreds of employees.

My job requires that I do some small, specialized contracting, and that I work with colleagues who have similar skill sets. I know my measuring tape versus theirs, my levels, drills, batteries, and everything down to the Nth degree. And they do, too. It's not because we do not trust each other, but it's the way small companies work.

No small contractor would just "lose" a bunch of tools and not question that. No matter what those tools were.

Just another piece of weirdness in this case..

My $0.02.

Thank you for clarifying, I realized after I asked about probable cause last night that one of the trucks was initially searched. For some reason I had thought none were and I was thinking that was odd, but nothing odd there. I may have already presumed the bike is a red herring despite the lack of information released by LE. I fully admit patience is no one of my virtues. In my mind theres already been a very convincing trial and sentence handed down but sadly it only holds up in my mind and not in the real world

I'm wondering if BM made two trips to Broomfield.

Regarding the 'tools'.
I've suspected all along that BM will accuse JP
of stealing the 'tools'. You know, the guy who spent 9 yrs. in prison. Who you gonna believe?
He just hasn't said it publicly YET.

I get what you’re saying. It seems conflictive.
how about Barry rented the room Saturday night but didn’t get there until Sunday morning (because he was busy all through the night) and just crashed on top of the bed for a bit when he got there. idk. Trying to make some sense out of the conflicting stories.

I'm positive one hotel room was booked for Saturday. The others for Sunday since the workers weren't coming until then.

In my post this was meant to have been read as BM's version of the truth that he left Suzanne asleep at 5am.
But in reality the place he left her 'sleeping' was not her bed at home.

Well Josh Powell had a whole community looking at him and a court appointed supervisor for his supervised visitation with his kids, but he was able to chop of their heads with an axe and blow up the house with the court appointed advocate in the driveway. I pray there is more attention being paid here than there was there.

I don't see many similarities between the two cases, to be honest.
Completely different motives, for one thing.

I'm convinced that the daughters are entirely safe, if for no other reason than because the perp knows that if either one of them were to come to harm, he'd immediately be toast.

Neither one of them are at risk, because the person who harmed SM can't risk harming either of them.

SM's perp appears to share many more personality characteristics with FD than he does JP.

I think this perp is a LOT like that evil creep, Dulos.

JMO.

I wonder if it wasn't easier for SM to limit contact with her family in IN, than to deal with the fallout from BM?
