I completely agree with Hoosierfan72's great post. I felt the same way about JP's testimony. How much of what they are saying is colored by their current suspicions about BM?

I think the riverside (in the water) deserves a much closer look. Is it shallow enough to use ground-penetrating radar?

Also...why on earth would LE ask for MG's phone? I don't recall JP mentioning giving up his phone. Yes, you can buy a pay-go disposable pretty cheap, but if LE has your phone, you've lost all your contacts, etc. Major inconvenience, IMHO.

For that matter, why would the two fellows who spoke to her be telling her that she did not have to give up her phone to LE if asked?

If that's all true, it sounds like perhaps something on BM's phone led them to want to see MG's phone. That might go back to the microexpressions when speaking about BM and her reluctance to take a lie detector test. She probably fears (and rightly) that they're going to ask her about things she doesn't want to talk about. For example, if she had a one-nighter with BM, she wouldn't want it to come out now, especially if it had nothing to do with SM's disappearance.

Some of the stuff that Morgan said seemed to be assumptions on her part, and she actually noted them as such, i.e. the hush money, Barry’s bad night, him seeming stressed. I am trying to separate the noise from the facts.

This. I think both JP and MG are remembering what happened colored by current suspicions.

This case just constantly reminds me of the Dulos case in CT. It is documented somewhere that SM got a chunk of money from an inheritance and BM sunk it into this monstrosity of a house, and I am willing to bet his business wasn't doing as well as he projected, and that he was living a lifestyle above his means with SM's family's money. Much like Fotis Dulos. MOO.
I tend to agree w/ you.
So far in over 4 months of discussion about BM's work/business and ALL we've heard about is a wall job that's falling down and needs to be re-done and a subcontracting job of pushing dirt into a foundation of a residential home.
Not what I'd call big business in the construction business.
I don't think BM was earning his keep, considering all the toys/equipment he had to look legitimate.
I think he was'playing' at looking like he was a
big time contractor but hadn't arrived there yet.
If money was slow coming in, that by itself could have been a point of contention in the marriage.
I'd like to see his books and see what income he really had coming in. We might be shocked.

Lauren Scharf has done a beautiful job getting all these people to talk and getting LE involved. She's such a chess master.

I think TN suspected there was something suspicious about where the bike was found from the beginning. According to JS in one of the recent interviews, TN was the first one to say it looked like the bike was thrown down the hill.

After TN first spoke out I got the impression he didn't care much for Barry. He referred to him as "the husband" and encouraged the public to ask LE about the condition of the bike. He was probably holding back because LE had told him not to discuss any details. Then later he separated himself from the online Go fund account or whatever it's called. Everyone has called it different things so I don't know the proper name for it.

Did MG actually say it was TN who said that about the hush money? I thought she meant it was a relative or a friend but didn't say who. The army guy was also at the scene. He's the one who told Barry LE was mishandling the bike and ruining the crime scene.

IMO
You guys are right that I’m just assuming MG was talking about TN as the family member. (She said 2 men—a family member and a friend). I truly can’t think of one other male relative in this situation so that’s why the assumption. But y’all are correct that he is not named. For all I know there could be another family member of BM’s that we haven’t heard of yet!

yes, she may be THE most important witness to refute BM's timeline from Fri-Sunday plus she's good at reading his emotional state.
I'm glad she moved out of town, I'd say her life could be in danger here as well.
I say this as we've had several witnesses get killed in my area, before they had to testify in the trial.
She may have become his 'work wife' and as such he's unloaded onto her on the jobs. I know many intimate details about my married male coworkers that potentially have not been shared with their spouses. It's a common thing.

I don't get it, you walk into a room and “We opened the door and I mean, like, the chlorine hit you and you’re, like, my eyes started watering and burning. And, like, the towels were like super wet on the floor, and it looked like he had, like, made the bed before he left,” Gentile said.
So you just settle in with your friend and co worker and stay the night and next night in the room? You don't request a different room that you can breath in?

We don't know that it was TN that approached MG with the weird "hush money" statement.
The written article just says 2 men connected to BM, but in the video at about the 5:00 mark, LS says it was a M family member, and a friend of BM's.
Telling her they'd pay her but, they don't want to have it look like it's hush money, and that she has rights and doesn't have to give the CBI her phone.

Whoever these 2 men are, it certainly does sound like they were trying to encourage her NOT to cooperate with the investigation.

jmo
That's a ridiculous statement to say that a valid claim to be paid monies for work performed would look like "hush" money unless there is something else that is currently being "hushed."

Why wouldn't any innocent person cooperate with LE? It doesn't make sense unless there is something to hide.

As Dr. Phil always says, "People with nothing to hide, hide nothing."

I went back and re-watched the video from MG and have a couple of thoughts:

Listening to it a second time, I find myself questioning if she really is accurately portraying her observations at the time. I don't think MG is lying, but I think there's a difference between (for example) BMs actions on Saturday being so unusual to actually have the thought at that time that he's acting weird vs. thinking back on that weekend and, knowing what we know now, thinking it was a bit odd. So, if I could, I'd press her on those points to try to understand more details about it - things like "you say BM was frantic - what was he doing that makes that word come to mind?" or "did you mention to anyone (JP perhaps) at the time that BM was acting weird?"- that kind of stuff.

I say that because of what she says about how he was acting about the beach site. If BM was really acting strange there on Saturday am, I think that pushes me to think this very well could have been a hastily developed plan, perhaps born out of a significant argument on Friday between SM/BM where SM discovered something that BM could not allow to come to light.

I have no idea what to make of Cassidy's text. I don't follow this on any social media sites, but I'm assuming there are all kinds of rumors out there that are being referenced.... Does he know nothing useful and is just being coy? Does he know something HUGE and just doesn't really want to be in the spotlight? I'm sure LE knows, so that's encouraging - but that whole text message was beyond strange.. MOO, JMO

Good points on whether MG is recalling her thoughts then, or her thoughts after the fact. I suspect it might be a little of both - and I'm reminded that this is why eyewitness statements can be so unreliable. Memory and emotion are rather fickle & unreliable, and this is why I'm SO glad she turned over her phone to the CBI.

I've no idea what to make of his text either, but I suspect you're correct about social media rumors. I don't follow there either but have had the opportunity to see a few rumors and accusations about some of these folks, and it's rather disgusting, to be honest. Time and time again I see so many on social media = no filter, no facts, no class, no accountability.

I can see why MG has had to relocate, and how this awful case has impacted her life & family in such a disruptive way.

I hope all these bit players have been totally honest and truthful when speaking w/ LE and especially CBI and FBI.
They'll come back after them in a NY minute, if they find out they lied in their testimony.
Charges like accomplice to murder after the fact and witholding information in a capital crime are expensive to defend. Especially expensive if you're an hourly worker paid low wages.

I'm not assuming anything.
I don't know when this pic was taken and it's not mentioned anywhere that I've seen, who the car belonged to.
I'm not even sure why it matters, unless I've missed something significant?

Ugh.. I agree it’s not significant. But I read this too late to prevent me from going down the “car selfie” rabbit hole.

Googling around, it looks like a Subaru Outback rear window, or a similar-sized SUV.

Thanks! I just am a curious person, trying to look at all the angles.

is JP married? was MG? trying to figure out why on earth they'd be sharing a hotel room as co-workers.

Yeah, Barry calls everyone “meth heads” apparently. It’s an interesting defense, as their stories are either true, or they’re false.

Barry’s strategy is to not address that, and attack. Nice guy.

He must have attended the Lance Armstrong Scool of Deflection. Viviously attack your accusers' reputation. Well, we all know how that worked out in the end for Lance. I doubt we'll see BM apologizing to the world on Oprah any time soon though.

Maybe whoever took that picture foresaw what could possibly need to be substantiated.
Especially if their hinky meter was starting to smoke a little bit.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

Do we know how many hotel rooms were actually booked?
