@Oveido I'm thinking ....potentially a "roid rage" fueled argument on Saturday (shortly after 12:30pm), followed by a short window of opportunity (while girl's are out of town) to clean crime scene, dispose of SM and create an alibi (using MG, JP, CC), for pretend job on Mother's Day.

I tend to think it all started to fall apart on Sunday when the neighbor was asked to check on SM. Once 911 call was made, everything was suddenly out of BM's control. In addition, MG and JP coincidentally find strong odor of chlorine, wet towels, left behind mail and tools in the room, at about the same time. I don't believe BM had time to get his "spin story" straight (in his head) so that he could cover ALL his tracks and convince anyone of his innocence. MOO!
If it is "roid" related - curious what the long term affects of steroid use is on the brain? does it make people forgetful, unable to think quickly? I really have no clue. maybe I will do some research this weekend - I've always though the use of them were bad for the body over time.

The big search is massive and growing. With the sheriff's help and guidance, I think Suzanne has the best chance for being found to date.

If BM wants to deal, he's running out of time.

If Suzanne is found, I think he will get a maximum sentence and a lot of his secrets will be broadcast for everyone to see.

I wonder if he is thinking clearly enough to realize this.
Moo of course.

Based on what we (not LE) know now, I don't think finding SM's body will necessarily be enough to wrap up the case.

Depending on manner of death and state of the body, there may be no conclusive evidence of how she passed. LE will still need a very solid case (Kelsey Berreth solid) to go after BM.

I am hopeful, but I think finding the body is a problem...also, those other individuals may plead the fifth if they get put on the stand, but hopefully, they would turn into states witnesses before then in return for some leniency for any charges for after the fact accessory, which they probably were.
this is what i think, too, @Hoosierfan72. something came up, or was found out by suzanne, that was going to destroy him. moo.

eta: he's too arrogant to think that if she asked for a divorce, he wouldn't have all the ladies knocking down his door. i don't think a divorce prompted it.
I think it's about money.. Am seems to think he was obsessed with money. And most of his money came from SM's family from what I gather.

So what was Barry’s disjointed plan? Did he not expect the girls to call the neighbor? Did he have a room of his own in Broomfield, or did he plan on using Jeff’s? How did it play out in his head? Did he think he would have much more time to be in/around Broomfield, showing his face, interacting with the workers? Were the girls not expected home till closer to midnight, so he thought he had tons of time? I’m trying to envision what his thought process was, up in Broomfield, and why it ended with tools in a hotel bin, and wet towels, bleach and mail in a worker’s room. Did the neighbor call 911 too soon?

I too have wondered whether Suzanne found out something which would have awful repercussions for him.
But why would he give Susanne time to discuss it with someone else?
Did he make her promise to say nothing and he would go and speak to the LE himself after the girls returned from holiday?

maybe. maybe they sent the girls away on holiday so they could discuss the issue? it's only a gut-feeling though, i could be totally wrong. i just have always had the feeling it's deeper than divorce or an argument, and that he was into something she did not believe in. moo.

Was sonar used in the water at that location or just divers? Does anyone know?

I’m not sure if it was ever reported that the Arkansas River (beside the Salida construction dig site) was ever searched by divers?

It was reported that Fooses Lake was searched and another May article reported “waterways”. BBM

From Wikipedia

Anabolic steroid
Anabolic steroids, also known more properly as anabolic–androgenic steroids, are steroidal androgens that include natural androgens like testosterone as well as synthetic androgens that are structurally related and have similar effects to testosterone. They are anabolic and increase protein within cells, especially in skeletal muscles, and also have varying degrees of androgenic and virilizing effects, including induction of the development and maintenance of masculine secondary sexual characteristics such as the growth of facial and body hair. The word anabolic, referring to anabolism, comes from the Greek ἀναβολή anabole, "that which is thrown up, mound". Androgens or AAS are one of three types of sex hormone agonists, the others being estrogens like estradiol and progestogens like progesterone.

Long term use of annabolic steroids can damage your heart, liver and kidneys.

Paper trail?
I'm not thinking there would be one if he 'borrowed' one from a fire dept site - nor would there be one if he paid cash to someone he'd rented from before. While not on the up and up, cash deals happen all the time.
Now, that's not to say it's what happened. I'd love to find that there are receipts or forms that were signed.

I can’t tell you how much I dislike the wood chipper theory.

That sort of thing is incredibly rare on the whole, yet I’ve seen it brought up in countless cases now. Not once has it been true.

Barry had limited time, as he had a hell of a lot to accomplish in the hours following the murder. Not only that, but using a machine like that creates more evidence than it destroys.

That machine would have to be disappeared as well, as the forensic evidence inside would bury BM.

They will also collect evidence from where she is found, sifting the dirt if she is buried. They can potentially tie anything they find back to the home, a vehicle. Ask Chase Merritt how that worked out for him. :D

I'm thinking that it's more like he borrowed it from a buddy. And now that buddy is in hot water in more ways than one.
Just a hunch.

He doesn't fix the security cameras OR put in a land line for her, since her cell did not have good service. Wasn't he worried about his daughter's being there alone with no cell service and no security cams?

This line of commentary frustrates me. If SM wanted a landline for her own personal safety or that of her daughters, to talk to her family more regularly, or for any other reason, she had every right and opportunity to get a landline herself. IMO

On a related note, I don't think we know the whole story about AM's difficulty reaching SM. We don't have any reason to believe she was permanently stuck at home. She could have easily returned his calls/voicemails on her cell phone when she was in town for some other purpose. AM also could have used social media to contact her, where it seems she was active and had working access right until she went missing. IMO

No offense and not picking on you katydid23, just jumping off your post which was one of several similar comments.

Her texting with her friend on Saturday morning about the up coming wedding really messes up the time line of when he may have killed her to where he put her body. All the activity at the Salida property that supports the possibility that he buried her around there or put her in the water off the beach there took place before 12:30. This is making me crazy !

Who is GD and TN? How do you know Cassidy was in Broomfield?
Fox21 LS reported CC and GM were in Broomfield together with JP. This was during LS first report featuring JP.

TN is BM's nephew -- the former spokesperson that went dark on May 17.

*GD is off limits on mt.

ETA: * earlier warning

I really don't want it to be true - and it likely is not - but he is so smug about her not being found IMO - that I have to consider it as a possibility. It's what we would know, he's been around it for both landscaping work and firefighting - so it's one of my personal possibilities - the worst of course. And if something was interfering with his normal brain function whether fear, or Adrenalin, whatever and he's not thinking clearly - he may have not made the best decisions over that two day period.

Agreed. Although I do not believe her body is intact based partially off of the chlorine and wet towels in the hotel room. BM is a hunter, he could have easily, as we say, dressed, his prey/kill and left her in many places. Since I'm here on the subject, I will also state I believe he killed SM via strangulation or savage beating.

@MassGuy as an aside I was wondering if you were going to be changing your name to @FloridaMan anytime soon? :D
