I'm behind but jumping ahead before the thread closes. Do we know when the above "beach" photo was taken? At the time of the work? Or just now for the news article?

Look at about 2:20 in the following video to see the beach at the time of the concrete search:
CO - Suzanne Morphew, 49, did not return from bike ride, Chaffee County, 10 May 2020 #6

IMO, both the beach photo and the overhead helicopter aerial view are probably both from around May 23-25 or the time of the search.

This is private property and I don't imagine cameras would be near the property any other time other than when media was camped out during the search, waiting for any update.

I'm not sure of the cut along the river bank -- nobody else has this (per the aerial). I'm thinking it looks like a below-grade canoe launch or river raft landing. MOO

And explain to me why BM would be mad that MG would turn over her phone.

There is something on that phone that he doesn’t want LE to see.
Yeah, that and he’s also his control freaky self did not give his permission for her to do that.

Death was Established, w No 'Body'
I remember it well. Henry Lee became famous.
Was it a thumbnail they found on the shore of Lake Zoar? Helle Crafts. Airline attendant. And, he was a pilot.
MOO.
@citygirl Well, a fingernail w polish, and 3 ounces (85 g) of human tissue, crown of a tooth, bone chips, 2,660 bleached-blonde human hairs, and O type blood, same type as victim at water's edge. Chainsaw w hair and blood matching her DNA was found in the lake.
A local man driving a snow plow saw a truck and woodchipper being operated in a snowstorm at the lakeside (like 3:00 am?), later led LE to it & helped break the case in 1986 death.

LE verified husband (and I'm using term loosely) had rented a big woodchipper; he bought a chest freezer day before wife was last seen, sold a short time after. Plus blood in home carpet, etc, etc, etc.
Murder of Helle Crafts - Wikipedia
I read this book: https://www.amazon.com/Woodchipper-Murder-Arthur-Herzog-III/dp/0595183549

ETA. 1st trial = hung jury; 2nd = murder conviction in 1989 w 50 yr sentence. Released, Jan 2020 to halfway house.

If he fired her for giving them her phone, then it seems that she already had her phone returned to her at that point.

So that firing text came after that I think. I’m sure she showed them to investigators during a subsequent interview.
She allegedly met with CBI 5 times...

While thinking about BM’s activities on May 9th, Saturday, it seems he was quite busy that day. Please correct me if my list is not accurate.

He went to the home remodeling site sometime Sat. Morning.

He left around 11AM.

Per MG he spent a few hours wandering around town.

He either met with JP or talked with him (not sure which).

If we believe he killed his wife after 12:30 PM, he has the cleanup to do and perhaps body disposal.

He drives to the HI express in Brookfield, CO, unloaded his truck, spent at least some period of time in the room doing who knows what.

He was seen at the home remodeling site at 11:30 PM? Has this been verified? If not, did he spend the night at the HI Express?

How could he possibly accomplish all of this in 1 day? I would appreciate any clarification because I can’t make sense of any of the other statements from MG or JP based on this timeline.

RBBM

BM seems to like calling people "meth heads", isn't hyper activity associated with meth?

Maybe the pot is calling the kettle black, maybe BM was doing meth himself.

If so, I can see BM engaging in lots of frenetic activity, running around, thinking if he's visible to potential witnesses, he couldn't possibly have killed his wife. Or, so he thinks.

JMVHO.

I'm inclined to think the reason why BM would be mad that MG would turn over her phone is connected to messages relating to purchasing drugs - maybe BM got his steroids through MG.

Consider the source, though. MG has no actual personal knowledge of where Barry was after noon.

Where does she learn that he was "in town"? Who could know that he was in town the whole time? Some other person - who actually was with Barry? OR, perhaps MG was told by people that Barry was "in town."

Could that be the two men who approached her? "Look, M., we were with him in town - he was in town all afternoon."

In which case, those two guys (if lying) are simply aiding BM. Or, more likely, these two men were simply told by BM.. "I was in town all afternoon" when in fact none of these people have personal knowledge of his whereabouts.

Although..if even one of them said they saw Barry in town that afternoon, that's establishing an alibi and complicating the case for LE.

I personally do not think BM was "in town" all afternoon.

I'm really only concerned about whether or not BM was home around 12:30pm when SM communication reportedly ended abruptly.

If BM went home around 11 AM when he directed MG to wrap it up, he had plenty of time to get home (about 11 miles away) --albeit MG doesn't seem to think he did.

We learned from JP that he met with BM on Saturday afternoon -- don't know where or what time. I just have to put 12:30pm on the shelf as it's interrupting my thought process...!.

It seems reasonable that they would be.
You can't have stoned/tweaking first responders.
Imagine the massive lawsuits.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

Initally I think LE used scent or tracking dogs. The mention of HR dogs is recent. Wonder if that was part of the reason for the second search of the house. How long will dogs be able to scent human remains?

I think if we’re talking about drugs, we’re talking specifically about steroids. Not all departments test for them, and it’s apparently really easy to get away with, as you have to test for a specific compound (steroids come in many forms).

Agreed. Although I do not believe her body is intact based partially off of the chlorine and wet towels in the hotel room. BM is a hunter, he could have easily, as we say, dressed, his prey/kill and left her in many places. Since I'm here on the subject, I will also state I believe he killed SM via strangulation or savage beating.

@MassGuy as an aside I was wondering if you were going to be changing your name to @FloridaMan anytime soon? :D
We play Tom Brady and his teammates Sunday on our turf

I am way behind and trying to catch up so if this has already been discussed and answered, I apologize. MG talks about working on Saturday until 11 a.m. So when JP in his interview talked about he got to hotel on Sunday and stayed until Tuesday? Do I have that right? So did MG and other unknown worker show up at hotel Sunday along with JP and so all 3 of them possibly stayed? Maybe I have it all wrong/mixed up?? would somebody please be so kind to help me out in this? I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thank you. I'm obviously thinking of athletes, thinking of a generic tox screen -- some with better luck than others.

This Saturday Sunday timeline and players is exhausting - hoping the late night sleuthers will figure all this out

Did you find the dog?

Horrid ending. Run over.
As the finder saw one of my flyers, I was notified, days later, about the finding
The poor little thing, ran for miles.
I always think, if found early, maybe would still be alive.

That’s A LOT to unpack.
And MG said something about it looked like he had cleaned out the back of his pickup? (verbatim). I am hoping LE has been able to get video surveillance from car wash places and from places he was allegedly "shopping" by himself. Several things in common with Fotis Dulos but Fotis didn't have access to his kids (thank God). I so worry about the girls. Will keep saying prayers for them and Suzanne.

MOO A wood chipper would not be able to be cleaned of DNA. A hunter is going to know that buried off the path is as good as gone.

Sadly, I agree with you. Especially if 20 yards off the path. And if in some kind of container. It's really hard to know if cadaver dogs are effective in a scenario like that - if anyone knows of such dogs finding a body in those circumstances (even if nearer to the path), please let me know!
