from PE:

AM and crew are headed to colorado, from indiana, in a caravan on sept 22 (about 35 people). he plans to get with the sheriff and CBI first thing.

mark johnson's (lawyer, CEO of Visual Labs) company specializes in forensic documentation and forensic visualization, showing accurately a crime scene, or a disaster scene, using digital tools and interfacing with LE groups, as well as search and rescue. they use drone technology with thermal-based sensors to detect activity and disturbances and clandestine graves, things not apparent to the naked eye. they have new software developed to coordinate on the ground, so as to not waste resources and/or time. since it's such a remote area, they also have access to image libraries, both aerial satellite- based and terrestrial photo-dimetric imaging, so it's possible to go into the historical record and see if they can find any useful info. he's going to be pulling some of the aerials, from mother's day, to identify potential areas to make available for the search teams! wow! (mark also helped with the daybell case.)

per andy, they have collected EVI (electric vehicle information). the cell phone info has been kept very private by the investigators, and AM feels there must be a reason behind that, so he's not questioning it. he is hoping once he gets to colorado, they will give him and his crew suspect areas to search.

mike asks andy to share with the viewers (and mark, the guest) the change that has happened in the last 4-5 weeks since he went public with his pleas for help. andy replies, "LS from fox21 did some really interesting interviews that i would beg you to watch. if you thought some things were sinister before, when you watch those, you're really gonna think that. i know i do. my sole mission is to find my sister. i'm not a judge, a jury, or the police. they can deal with the rest. i just need to find suzanne. that's my goal. my only goal."
Very interesting program, the whole thing. AM sounded a bit defeated, saying IIRC that the search would probably not result in anything.

One parallel item, I'm listening to that podcast on Susan Powell PE recommended, at some time into her disappearance they got together a whole bunch of volunteers to help search for her in the desert. LE was appalled, with all the (thousands of) dangerous mines, liability, inexperienced but well-meaning searchers, etc. I think they finally did the search, but like AM, with emphasizing experienced searchers, etc. In the podcast they extensively described what old mines are like, with gases, eroding rocks and pillars, very dangerous, they portrayed it. The professional searchers had to lower down specialty cameras, and even after each mine they couldn't be sure it was really searched, due to crevasses, cave ins, etc. I thought it was interesting.......a glimpse into the thoughts of LE on volunteer searches, some 10-11 years earlier.

I understand MG's testimony to be, in part:

  • She has worked with BM for long enough to develop a relationship of trust - i.e., she would expect him to share his feelings about SM's disappearance and LE's focus on him.
  • Two men associated with BM approached her with bogus reasons to withhold her paycheck, and in that conversation suggested that she should not share her phone with LE.
  • Shortly after that, BM fired her for reason other than her cooperation with LE.

JMO, if she hasn't consulted an attorney about claiming unemployment benefits and suing BM for wrongful termination, she should. If the above can be proved, she has him over a barrel: if he defends, her attorney gets to subpoena records and ask him questions under oath. If he takes the 5th Amendment, he gets hammered with civil damages and penalties. JMO

Colorado is an at will employment state. Unless you can prove that MG fits into some extremely narrow exceptions, BM was/is allowed to end her employment with any or no reason whatsoever. And, in fact if MG is acting as an independent contractor, which is common in construction day workers, she would not be eligible for unemployment compensation.

Which WS poster said- BM is trying to avoid showing his face in the media?

Idk but in the beginning he wanted to be referred to as "the husband", which I found odd.
Imo.

Thanks @Fireflize & WS family! I would rather the roof get ripped off than lose my internet connection...or AC! Lol :p
Me too - I’ve been through too many hurricanes that included loss of power - turning my phone into a hotspot and having battery powered devices To plug laptop in helped my sanity for sure - stay safe

BBM I agree. I don’t think he took the bobcat or any other tools needed to work on that wall. I think the DM article could be right in that he checked in on Saturday. It would mean a lot of driving back and forth but we did hear that his truck GPS data wasn’t matching up. MOO

rbbm

Hi :) don't think this is gonna make much sense typed out, but what the heck, I shall give it a go o_O - if what is reported in DM is accurate, his GPS data wouldn't match up to what BM had previously (reportedly) said would it? If BM drove to and checked in HIE Saturday, stayed there until Sunday late afternoon/evening - how did he see SM at home 5am Mother's Day? His GPS is showing "BM" at HIE and not in Maysville - which is where he said he was 5am Mother's Day, so he is either lying about being at home, or lying about being in the hotel, or lying that it was him driving, or just lying and lying and lying - urgh lies and secrets, secrets and lies - what a load of ****

In the latest PE Choir Practice, at around the 11.12 minute mark, Chris says to AM, "We're working on a couple of things - I don't know when you want to, you know, talk about that, on the other side of it, in terms of, you know, some of the stuff that's coming, but I'll leave that - I can - I don't want to get ahead of it." Does anyone know what this is referring to? Is it to do with the search, or more info that's coming out from LS's interviews, it just got me wondering. I noticed CM touched the back of his neck when he said it, I don't know, just got me curious what it was all about.
@Lilypad13 stay safe from Hurricane Sally - just had a look on youtube at some footage, whoa

We might still be confused about his timeline, but LE will know exactly when he checked in and out of the hotel.

I have wondered if BM wanted to make it seem as if the Colorado relative was Suzanne's, instead of his.

So, by this time , LE has processed all digital info from cell phones, all GPS info from vehicles , have investigated the home twice and didn’t find anything to make an immediate arrest , have processed any DNA or anything that would need to come back from the lab. At this point , can I assume they simply don’t have enough to arrest him? If her body doesn’t turn up, there’s not much more they can do it would seem. Is this accurate?

I also want to ask:
A) Would dragging a body behind a dirt bike cause similar injuries to a mountain lion/or variant of any other large feline dragging it's prey

and

B) would BM be dopey enough to think dragging a body behind a dirt bike would cause similar injuries to a mountain cat dragging a body in the event of SM being found at all?

I am very sorry for the hideous question, and I don't think they would be similar but I don't know and I wanted to check with you lovely people

p.s. (sorry to mention the cat )

I am trying to keep current, while catching up on my missing threads...I’ve begun watching PE interview with AM, not going to be able to finish in one sitting...

MVHO, AM truly suspects BM, doesn’t make him guilty.
BM truly suspects AM, doesn’t make him guilty, either.

MOO, both parties have to have been proposed as POIs, therefore both have been scrutinized by LE, 4 months in, no probable cause on AM, search warrants, etc. Is it possible HE has just realized BM isn’t guilty? Area of search based on suspicion of BM or acceptance that that has not proven to be possibility...

WOULDN'T crisscrossing pointing fingers of suspicion have had some results?

To clarify, I began my theories, using random suspect, but realized lately, this is a bit inaccurate, tho still slim possibility. It is more like a perp who has had minimal contact with SM, perhaps thru her husband or her own brief contact...on the sidelines, watching and waiting.

Someone familiar with the area, and is still in the area. Someone who sits back and watches all the developments, smugly thinking he has gotten away with it. Someone who understands that as long as BM is under suspicion, they are safe. Should that change, they have a plan, but for now, they are comfortable...
I hope this search causes them to slip up ...not necessarily find her, that becomes increasingly less likely.

NO ONE is suspecting AM of being involved in SUZANNE’s disappearance.

NO ONE.

Suspecting someone doesn’t make it true, that is true. (What?!?!)

AM, and many WS members, suspecting BM of being responsible for SUZANNE’s disappearance doesn’t make it true.

But putting the puzzle pieces together, lining up facts and information and coming to a thoughtful, considered conclusion, gets us closer to the truth.

Perhaps it's getting ready to be sold?

JMO

That’s one way to get the $$$,$$$ from SUZANNE’s inheritance.

I’m sure her birth family was glad she had the security and benefit of that inheritance. What a wonderful legacy for her to share with her daughters.

For her, a Godsend; for her killer, it’s filthy lucre. Nothing good will come of that money if SUZANNE is not here to direct the use of it. If it is stolen, it is tainted.

As GordianKnot quoted scripture: For the LOVE OF MONEY is the root of all evil.

Is BM greed personified?

Someone mentioned EVI, electric vehicle information. I’m curious how that works, does anyone know? Does BM own a EV?

EVI means ELECTRONIC vehicle identification. All the electronic data a vehicle produces.

It certainly feels like a body, or weapon, or eye witness/confession is the missing piece and seems hard to come by.

But I’m not convinced that all of the lab and data work is completed and it’s possible that the vast amount of video footage would take a long time to put together.

I don’t think we’re looking at a cold case but I’d feel a lot better if the search next week pays dividends.

And, he has yet to mention her name but for his first "Oh Suzanne".
This is really being picky and means nothing but........
When he first spoke with AM and said ' your sister was asleep in the bed at 5 a.m.when I left.
He couldn't say her name.
It means nothing, I know, and it is just my opinion.

i am thrilled about having mark on board for the salida search, too, and it seemed like AM was as wow'ed by him as i was. i agree, he definitely seemed exhausted. :(

*(stay safe @Lilypad13! my mom is on the coast in MS, and i'm watching closely from over here in EU. i always joke about how much i miss hurricanes (bc i love the bad weather chaos, lol, i know, i'm weird), but when they are upon y'all and i have to worry from afar, there's nothing about it to miss. it can be scary. we are here if you need us!)
Hey @swedeheart thanks and you’re Mom should be just fine except for a ton of rain and storm surge. Hopefully she doesn’t live right on the coast. If so she most likely has evacuated. It looks like Sally is going to make landfall far enough East that MS will not get hurricane force winds at all...but even if they do, Sally is no Katrina! And I don’t think you are weird - I get it and we usually try and make the hurricane chaos & bad weather fun by playing games and eating and maybe a little drinking too but my family isn’t sheltering together due to Covid. Just me, Daisy, DH...and my MIL! Ya’ll are really feeling sorry for me now aren’t ya? ;) I wish I was in Europe with you, @Skigh & @MrsWatson right now!

Edit: please excuse my OT discussion and I won’t post anymore about our little hurricane except just to say thank you to everyone for thinking of me and cheering me up and guess what? Power literally just went out.

Well that’s genius! I’ll try that if we lose power, thanks!

rbbm :)

It means everything imo - he's detached from her, he has de-valued her and is showing disrespect to her and to her family by not using her name, tried to deny her of her identity - she is no longer human to him, she has become a 'thing' or 'an article' - moo

I second this, I can personally attest to the fact certain forensic tests take MONTHS to get back due to back ups at the lab and that was before COVID so im sure its even slower now. Plus given the volume of information, they may have, hashing out the specifics may take some times. emails and financial documents alone can be thousands of pages to go through
