Atty for BM, Now?
Even if he doesn't have a defense attorney, he has one who represented him in the IN assault case (of which BM filed and lost) and a RE attorney. Not sure if it was the same attorney but many are GPs, especially in small towns.
Anyway, I can see the attorney giving him advice. BM still has more properties to sell off.
@marylamby
I don't know if BM has had a CO atty since May, but doubtful imo he engaged the one he hired re IN assault case, IN real est transactions, or IN guardianship case. Not likely these IN licensed atty's are also licensed to practice law in CO or would be allowed to appear in CO court pro hac vice.*

If BM has not already engaged a respected, CO criminal defense atty, he may be caught flat footed if/when remains are recovered. In the meantime he'd do himself a favor by following advice even a :D;) 1L who flunked Crim Law:D:( could offer, "Don't talk." jm2cts.

As always, welcoming comment, clarification, comment, esp'ly by our legal professionals.

Maybe the 8:00 a.m. activity were the texts that didn’t sound like her. They had allegedly been on a rather lengthy text series discussing the bff’s son’s wedding among other things. How early did they start this lengthy discussion?
OR.... Maybe the texts ended unexpectedly the night before and the 8:00 a.m. texts were BM impersonating SM.
I'm more confused than ever about the time of the communication. First the conversation was on SM from mid-afternoon to mid evening, ending abruptly at 9:00 pm. Then a couple of weeks later it was said to be by text and ended at 12:30 pm with no explanation. Now it ended at 8:00 am on the same day as the wedding? It must be a mistake. Could they be referring to Sunday? Maybe her daughters tried to call her around that time and the phone was dead?

Did AM actually ever talk to the friend who said the communication ended abruptly? And if so, why does the time keep changing?

The "new" 8 AM confuses me.
Is this verified ?
I mean, when we are trying to build a timeline, these times are important and keep changing.

UGH-- I will revisit tomorrow. I am too tired to try to fit this into the timeline tonight.
Only want to say that IF it was 8 AM Saturday, then that is why BM cut employee loose at 11 AM.
JMO

BBM:

I don't trust these shifting times we're hearing. At all.

Facts don't change.

At this point, I'm pretty much mentally dismissing any claims regarding when the last text was sent by SM's phone.

We don't know for certain when her phone's last activity occurred, and we won't know until this case sees a courtroom.

I think we'd be best served by leaving any times r/t her phone activity off of the timeline, because I think it's all questionable at best, anyway.

I continue to be most interested in Friday.
I think that may prove to be the critical night.

JMO.

As far as the IN attorney(ies) he used in the past, I was speaking more to 'advice' he may have received - or not.
Alternately, any CO attorney he may have hired or has been approached by - no clue thus far.

It’s going to be. We’re playing a game of telephone here, and we don’t know if something is being lost in translation, or was wrong to begin with.

BBM:

My solution to that problem is easy: hang up the phone.

We need to leave SM's purported phone activity completely off of the timeline.

The info isn't verifiable, and at this point, it's not trustworthy.

Scrub it.

AM said BM hired a defense attorney for himself and one for his daughters in one of the latest interviews.

This is going to be one stressful week for Barry.

I’m not optimistic the search will turn up anything, but there’s always a chance. That has to have him on edge.

Then there’s going to be extensive news coverage, both locally and nationally. It’s going to be all Suzanne, all the time. At least as far as Barry is concerned.

Reporters are going to be reaching out for comment, and may come knocking on his door.

Then there’s the vigil on Friday that Barry has promised to attend. He’s going to have to come up with an excuse for not going.

I hope Lauren has her phone on, because I’m sure Barry is going to have things to say.

Not that this clarifies anything..

Tricia : Do you know who this friend is that SM was talking/texting with?

LS : Um... I do but that has not been made public.

Tricia : Were the texts flying back and forth and then.. radio silence ?

LS : Well I have not spoken to the friend but according to AM they were talking about a wedding, you know girl talk and then it stopped abruptly Saturday MORNING.

At 1:20

You're right, forgot about that!

Yeah, it might be like searching for a needle in a haystack, depending on what "leads" or tips they've had. There's always hope, though. I wonder what information AM has that makes him feel BM hid the body within a 3 1/2 hour window. Or was it 2 1/2 hours? I thought I read both. It's not clear whether he is talking about Saturday or Sunday.

Thinking about the drug angle- The man in Indiana that BM had an altercation with, described him going from rage to crying at times.

That could definitely fit with substance/drug abuse, IMO.
bbm

OMG,
an adult man, husband, father, business owner, fire fighter, "gym expert", hunter, etc. did that??? How very crazy is that?!

Almost forgot....

* The bleach/chlorine smell at the house and the hotel room
* AM says that the CBI tells him the GPS data doesn’t match along with NOT taking a poly or voice analysis AFTER BM says he did so.

I’m sure I will think of more, but my mind is scattered right now after losing my beloved dog -Nola

Keep the posts coming because I’m relying on my WS family to take my mind off of it! :(
Sorry to hear this. Thinking of you and sending you xoxoxo

MOO. I’m 100% LE knows SM is deceased, the only thing holding them up from arresting the perp is proof of her demise.

We need the remains or other proof of death, unless BM breaks and confesses.
I think they will eventually go the no body prosecution route If they have to. I think, unlike others here, the thing holding them back right now is that in areas like this one it is pretty common to wait until one full hunting season has passed. Many times remains will be found by hunters, and there is no need to rush to prosecute if the discovery is still possible. That, and now this search. I think it is likely she will be found at some point, and if that makes the case easier to prosecute I am all in favor of being patient and waiting. But aI think if she isn’t found by spring, they will make their move.

AM thinks Suzanne was murdered Saturday MORNING.

JMO
What, if the daughters had called/texted Saturday already to speak to their mum about coming back home on Sunday ....? Did BM pretend to be mum Suzanne to hold the daughters off for at least one day?

I'll have to go listen again (tomorrow) I could have sworn they were there together at the site when at 11 he took off and told her to wrap it up.
You are correct.

Where was he supposed to get the right set of tools for the job? Did he not have them because he was in an awful hurry - or did he take the right tools, but for some reason needed to bleach and discard them?
Perhaps he wasn't able to return to the site, where the right tools were, so as not to betray himself?

<modsnip>

I just wanted to say that i am utterly utterly mind blown that barry said AM's search was a publicity stunt!:eek:, Barry has come out with some outlandish statements but this one took the cake, The fact that he thought it was in any way shape or form a good idea to say such a thing tells me really just how self centered and out of touch with other peoples feelings and the real world he really is.

It was literally a jaw dropping statement to make, how on each can 500+ people coming to search for your wife not be the greatest thing that's happening right now? It just goes to show that when he's angry all rational thought seems to disappear for him.

I am also now thinking there is a chance that the bobcat didn't play a part in the concealment of her body, at this point i am thinking he may have simply used the "mechanical thing" to his bobcat as another alibi to fill in the missing parts of the timeline when he WAS out hiding the body.
