I have to take AM's comments about where and how far out the hiding place is, as being info provided by those LE tracking BM's whereabouts.
No, he can't come out and say directly, "LE told me this", but to me it's the innuendo that someone "in the know" shared this with him.
I just don't believe AM made this stuff up.
I've believed all along he has some great sources
sharing this inside information.

That is a lot of ifs. And yes, it would be a shame if some evidence was destroyed early on. However, we should also look at it another way. LE arrives on a scene with a blank slate when they are called. At the beginning, they take what they are being told at face value. When LE arrived at the Morphew home, they were told that SM had not returned from a bike ride. They had no reason, at this time not to believe it. What if it was your child, wife, husband, parent, who had gone missing while on a bike ride? Would you not want LE out scouring the area? Protection of life is always the first priority.
Continuing on with the narrative, as the search spread out along the road/trails where SM usually rode, someone spotted the bike down that steep incline. I’m quite sure that LE did scramble down there. I’m sure that when she wasn’t found right near the bike, they spread out in a radius around the bike to make sure she wasn’t laying in the area injured, incapacitated , or dead. Would you have not wanted LE to do the same for your family member? Do you know that the bike was not fingerprinted and photographed before it was brought back up to the road?
I’m sure it probably did take several officers to get the bike up to the road. It may have then been examined then to determine if there was a mechanical issue with the bike.
Perhaps that is when some doubts began to form as to what really happened to SM.
In the meantime, CCSO within hours brought in both the North and South Chaffee County SAR teams and canine search dogs from the local DOC facility.
LE’s first priority in those early hours was to find SM. Shame on them if it wasn’t.

A hundred thanks. Yes I would absolutely want the entire team of searchers to get into that ravine and go every which way in search of my person. If a friend of “the husband” cautioned me, as a professional, against that, I would certainly give him the side-eye and wonder exactly what was going on here. I would be far more concerned with LE finding my person, evidence preservation be damned-why would they have been thinking evidence? As soon as it became apparent that something else was in play, I am sure LE locked down and proceeded. I don’t believe that the “bike evidence” is the crux of the case, and mattered much in finding Suzanne, or the culprit. Well, maybe the culprit, but not in the way it was intended.

That would be helpful. I remember we had a poster here post several photos of changes they had found on the Puma Path property since the Ms had moved into it.
For those of you able to attend the search and need some ideas to possible consider checking out, I have a few ideas.
If you look at the overall map of Maysville there's not a lot of good locations to hide Suzanne's body. Personally I think he went east with her towards Denver since Monarch has a motel close to the highway that likely has cameras and that would alert LE that he went west, or the smartest move is probably heading north.

38°32'36.9"N 106°10'32.7"W
East bound-Looks interesting this road. Nothing out there.

38°29'53.6"N 106°04'41.6"W
East-Looks like some kind of abandoned mining area.

39°01'57.0"N 105°59'14.0"W
If he hid her body on the way to Denver I think this would be an interesting spot. Nothing over there. If he brought the Bobcat perfect spot to bring the trailer. I think it was closed at the time.

38°33'46.6"N 106°11'59.9"W

This whole area here going north from Maysville looks interesting. Miles and miles of spots to hide Suzanne. Honestly feel like this would be the smartest move, not a lot of possible cameras that way. This road 240 will take a lot of work to look at it all.

38°33'21.0"N 106°11'21.7"W

Another north bound spot, this dirt road here opens up a lot of possibilities as there is nothing up there. Probably smart to get off road 240 since there could be people headed to North Fork Reservoir.

Excellent post! I’ve missed seeing you here in recent days, but I did remember your research on possible places! Thank you!

That's true he states that it is his own suspicion, but IMO, with taking the whole of that interview, and the other one where he says he thinks he knows a lot of what the FBI knows, it's clear to me that his info comes from from LE, thus the "suspicion" from LE. But you're right of course, he does say "my suspect".

This is the most specific statement he has given. He did say that LE was sharing EVI but holding the phones closely and none of the phone data is available to him. Maybe this is how he came up with the timeline. I travel the rest of the way tomorrow, i'll be there @0800 on Friday and at the vigil. If permitted, I will upload photos. Any WS'ers that have not been in touch but would like to stay in touch during the search, reach out to me via DM.

Trackergd, what, then, might be done differently with searches? What is a good website where we can learn more about the science and nuance of searching for the missing?

Because, quite often, organized searches do seem to miss who is being looked for. People and dogs are not infallible--how is that mitigated during a search? -
windrower in last thread

NASAR is the best source - Home - NASAR

Best way to mitigate is to search the same area more than once using a different team each time.

In one of the interviews posted here yesterday he said pretty clearly that he knows a lot of what the FBI knows, maybe not everything, but a lot. (paraphrased)

Found it..... "He said he is expecting to receive satellite imagery soon that will point him in the right direction. He said he has four places of interest he wants to search not far from Salida.

"I'm going to get results. I have very good intelligence. Very good intelligence," he said. "Maybe I don't know everything the FBI knows, but I know a bunch of it."

'I'm going to get results': Brother of missing mother Suzanne Morphew arrives in Colorado ahead of volunteer search

I feel crested butte was a red herring.
"Look here not there!"

i think andy misspoke and called it crested butte, when what he meant is that barry laid down on some random butte closer to home. remember, he had never been to colorado to visit, and there is no logical reason they would have been searching that far from the house that day. this happened while they were out searching for suzanne.

Say hi to Barry for me when you’re at the vigil!

Just kidding, he won’t be there. I’m sure honoring his wife is also some sort of “publicity stunt.”

He’s probably got better things to do anyway, like riding his dirt bike or grilling up some peanut butter. I don’t know how Barry likes his, but I like my peanut butter cooked rare, with a nice sear.

I think he killed her, put her in the big cooler for transport, disposed of her body over a cliff or ravine or an abandoned mine, took the cooler into the hotel to bleach it, and possibly tools, then got rid of the cooler. But see, those coolers are pretty tough. They get bounced around a lot but they still last forever. So, the bobcat is used to dismantle/destroy the cooler as much as possible. Mix the scraps in with a load of dirt. Maybe that's what they were looking for at the work site? Parts of the cooler?

All of the above is just speculation, obviously.

For those interested, it was WS member Topppps that posted those "before" and "after" photos of the Morphew property with changes noted in post #823 on thread #32 (Sept 6).
Thank you! My memory was escaping me as to the member’s name who posted !

"My sister was murdered," Moorman said. "And she was hidden within a three-and-a-half-hour window. So that — I can draw a circle on that and tell you she's within that circle. And that's what I know happened."

This is so damn intriguing, and it tells me that LE has (at least) a pretty solid picture of the timeline here. That 3.5 hour window is specific. My guess is BM had his phone off during this period.

Good point !
What do the rest of you here at WS think ?
And if LE found some shreds or broken pieces of cooler, I'll bet they've kept it under wraps.
Just like the other evidence they may have found.

"Her brother, Andrew Moorman, who lives in Indiana, has organized several hundred search volunteers — from various other Colorado towns and even other states, including the mayor of Moorman's small town and local business owners and friends — to help scour the area."

BAM!!!
That's gotta make BM a wreck!!
I love that the city of Alexandria posted their support yesterday on their official FB page.

"The latest 3rd hand info from LE via AM is that they don’t believe SM’s body was ‘well hidden’."

In the interest of keeping the facts straight, this is what I was commenting on.

While some of the information AM has at his disposal for the search party most certainly came from LE, AM did not say that it's LE that thinks SM'd body is not "well hidden".

AM made it very clear that this is his speculation, that she's not well hidden because there wasn't a lot of time, to do that. While it is entirely possible someone from LE did actually say that, AM did not make that claim on the PE interview on Monday night.

I bet BM is pacing and looking out the windows today, as well.

One thing that searchers can bring that they may not have thought about is to bring along a good pair of binoculars.

Binoculars allow a person to view the surrounding areas that you may not be walking to but want to get a closer look at them.

When I finally got me a good pair of Swarovski binoculars, I was floored and I still am amazed at how crystal clear and balanced they are.

To give an example of how important they can be, I was once hunting with a guide and he had forgotten his good binoculars in his truck which was about 1/4 mile back. I had not yet purchased my good Swarovski binoculars yet and so I offered him my regular basic pair to use instead.

He tried them out and giggled a little as he handed them back to me and told me to wait right there as he walked back to his truck to get his good pair.

This case has been very frustrating, as LE has kept everything so close to the vest.

And it seems to us that the obvious suspect is so transparently guilty---yet nothing seems to be happening.

The same thing seemed to be going on in the recent tragic case of a missing young pregnant woman in Seattle. Then suddenly, last night, her remains were found and her ex boyfriend was ARRESTED.

Reading the 'memo' posted by Pierce County LE was very very inspiring. They laid out a detailed description of their case against their suspect.

If you are feeling down about Suzanne's case now, just click on this link and read a quick rundown of what kind of evidence Chaffee LE probably has on Suzanne's murderer...

Kassanndra Cantrell: Body of missing pregnant woman found in Pierce County; suspect arrested

@katydid23 Thank you so much for this. (I wasn't aware of this sad, sad case. Yet another sleezebag who's willing to commit murder while being too stupid, selfish, and lazy to use a condom.) You are right - these details offer perspective in Suzanne's case and give hope for an eventual resolution.

So if the 12:30 PM Mountain time is when panic set in for Suzanne's best friend on May 9, then the window would close around 4 PM when BM was seen by JP in Salida. Is this what we are assuming?
I have so much hope this "army" of volunteers will prevail.
Please let Suzanne be found.

I don’t think BM disposed of Suzanne’s body that early. I think he left the house at 5am on Sunday morning for a reason, and the purpose was hiding Suzanne.

I think this time may be a lie though, and I suspect he actually left earlier than that.
