Here is my neighborhood lion... Not seen much, but around intermittently based on elk/deer carcasses. Never acted aggressive/attacked a human yet... (knock on wood)....

Yet?! Oh @NoSI be careful! I’m feeling much safer down here with the gators and hurricanes right now.

Why would Barry buy a home with: "The 2 Environmental Hazards are high potential risk of radon and high exposure risk of UV Index." Especially since his wife is still being treated for cancer? Would this have been disclosed to Morphews before buying the home?

It sounds like many homes in Colorado come with high potential risk for radon due to the decay of uranium. Colorado is a 'highly mineralized state', according to the attached link and affects nearly 50% of all homes in Colorado. The missing pictures of kitchen and garage may be related to some aspect of mitigation attempts to ameliorate the situation.

Radon levels high in Colorado homes.

ETA: Oops behind again, see this has been discussed. As an aside, I live in Ontario and when we sold our century home we were told by the agent that radon was pretty much everywhere, and our region was considered low compared to other counties.

I wonder if the non functioning, semi- functioning security system was deliberately not repaired. <modsnip>

LS said she saw one camera, in the area of the front door, when she left one of her notes for BM. The security system seems to come and go, which I suppose could be the sign of a really good system. Maybe LE missed the security system in the first search, which certainly could explain the reason for the second search, I suppose. JMO
LS said she saw two cameras if I'm not mistaken. I highly doubt LE missed the security system. I'm not a professional and it would be the third thing I looked at in the home :)

I think under normal circumstances, that is the norm. But in this case I believe the seller is aware that interior shots will be downloaded, saved and reviewed by hundreds of online sleuths!
Right. Bigger question is why would he care about that? His wife was abducted. What does a picture of the master or kitchen matter?

just out of curiosity what would have been your first two things? ITA LE would have been aware of the system, they seemed to mention the neighborhood checking their doorbell systems right away, and its probably a standard security feature for the area..... although youd hope when someones wife goes missing theyd voluntarily hand over the footage and not make LE get a warrant for it.... somehow I think if that had been the case we'd have heard all about it in BM's 2020 summer of spin tour

I have recently had a bad experience with a business that is located in the Salida/Poncha Springs area. I am not going to provide any further details but I will say what occurred was grimy. It seems this area may be a little hidden mecca for some of the questionable characters in our society. Like another poster, whose name I cannot recall, has indicated several times, I think there may be a lot more to this.

Well in our POAs we account for the principal to be missing now - and their attorney-in-fact assumes all the powers granted in the particular POA but that’s my state
JMO
But didn't BM get guardianship anyway after SM went missing, so IF she would've had a POA before she went missing, how would that have changed anything now? He still ended up getting what he wanted. That's what my point was. Basically, SM not having a POA, just meant BM had a few other steps to take after SM went missing (which was getting guardianship). Am I understanding it correctly?

If SM had set up a POA prior to her disappearance, whomever she assigned as POA, either an attorney or family member or friend, would have been granted guardianship in place if BM. POA is given the most priority in guardianship cases and there would have been no real way for BM to initially contest it, unless the person was unfit in some way (financially irresponsible or medically unable) POA would have barred BM's access to SM's finances

Ahhhh, I see the point now! Thank you for the explanation!

no problem, guardianship is an odd and minimally used area of law, happy too help translate the legalese into actual English lol. The good news is regardless of who is guardian, they are required to file very regular paper work with the court and meet with them on a regular basis to go over the estate, so theoretically one couldnt do too much damage if they had ill intent

Interesting theory - and that was my original thought, too. I did blow the letters up and try to compare them (but I'm no handwriting expert) and there definitely are some differences between the Valentine's Day card and the "remember' notes. There seem to be plenty of similarities, too. My completely uneducated opinion was they were all written by the same person, but the differences made me question whether they were written at very different times and/or emotional/physical states. But I'm with you - would love for an expert to review and comment on them.

I took the "I remember" parts to be a plea from a wife who knows her husband no longer feels the way he once did about her and is desperately trying to recapture/rekindle the flame that she believed was once part of the relationship. Unfortunately for her, I don't believe she was successful. JMO, MOO.
Did SM want to morally save him from his (maybe bad) future life, that he had begun to live at some point? Without mentioning: don't do this or don't do that?

I do think BM disappeared SM.

And if LE says a cougar was not involved, a cougar was not involved.

But has anybody seen that video that a hiker in Provo, Utah posted of an encounter he had with a cougar in Slate Canyon on Saturday? The mountain lion stalked and lunged at him over and over again for six long minutes while he was hiking. Absolutely terrifying. Idk how to link (on my phone) to the version I saw, but it's gone viral. Whoa.
I just watched it... I love cougars, big cats, and wildlife in general. But glad it was him and not me in that situation! Mama cougar was being very protective of her babies. Much more so than some human mamas we read about here, iykwim.

I hear what you both are saying, but I don't believe the lack of an arrest at this point means they don't have enough evidence for probable cause. While Ms. Turner would almost certainly benefit politically from an arrest - there still is time before the election for that to happen - and what better boost to an election than an arrest the Friday before? However, it's also been pointed out that Sheriff John hasn't publicly endorsed her (the only one of the four sheriffs in her jurisdiction to NOT do so), so it's possible that has an impact on the timing as well.

It also could be as simple as they are waiting for hunting season, hoping that they get lucky re: finding SM's remains. JMO, I'm personally of the mindset that they have a lot of evidence (based on the fact we're aware of only a little bit of what they have, and that alone, IMO, is extremely compelling), and are simply taking their time to make sure they get it right. MOO.

The problem with an arrest so close to election day is that there's the chance that the news of it will get "drowned out" by other election news. There's also no guarantee that any sort of hearing will occur before election day if the arrest is too close to election day.

The cooler thing is not a big issue IMO The Daughters were on a camping trip = coolers needed. We do not know upon their return if that had taken coolers and if those coolers were returned at some point , assuming they were not returned to Puma Path since it was under a week+ search warrant. Respectfully I can see your point of view.

The thing that bothers me about the cooler missing is that, in my circle, no one will use a cooler that is used to bring home a deer, for a picnic or camping.
We have different coolers for foods and drinks.
Maybe we're just picky.
Moo

Possibly. Or maybe Barry just listed it to give online sleuths a piece of meat to chew on while he busied himself with something else. I'm not saying this is what he definitely did, just that it's possible. After all, if he can "bait" deer with corn/oats (a class C misdemeanor in Indiana, btw, which makes me doubt that he intends to do that here), then he can certainly "bait" online sleuths with an online real estate listing.

I seriously doubt that one actor is smarter than LE, State Bureau of Investigation, the FBI and thousands of online sleuths. Prisons are full of individuals with the same flawed high opinion of their intelligence.

Did barry tell the people at the market why he was looking for a helmet and did he leave a contact number in case they did find one? or did he just leave a note with bike helmet etc on it? if that latter then that's just weird.

Probably that would be my guess. And also why it isn’t mentioned in the new listing.
