IMO, he either:

-Is trying to liquidate and then protect the assets from a civil suit

or

-has a large debt that has come due

BBM - I hadn’t even thought of that as I’ve been so zoned in on Suzanne’s disappearance. Yeah, it’s just a matter of time before the Moorman’s file a wrongful death suit against BM, I would imagine as that would be a way to obtaining answers. Can u imagine all the BM double-speak his deposition would include ? That would keep us busy for weeks lol. IMO.

I'm a big fan of this theory.

It would explain his hasty moves in the wake of her disappearance.
Not only that, it would also potentially explain what triggered events leading up to her disappearance.
I do think the motive to this crime is primarily a financial one.

I think BM's eyes are bigger than his wallet, and they always have been.

Just ask Fotis Dulos.

Oh, wait, that's right…never mind.

It not only fits with all of his actions subsequent to her disappearance, but it could also provide the motive her disappearance.

GK, when the dust settles, I think you will get the "I told you so" trophy for your love of money motive.

I don't think AM was making it up, but I think it's possible there was some kind of misunderstanding.
Which is why I said I'd be more inclined to consider it credible, if the info was quoted back to the investigator him/herself.

I agree that AM may have misunderstood. It's a fairly major misunderstanding and so far, uncorrected.

I also believe whatever it was, it wasn't a recorded document that was against their property(ies) either IMO. Something "off the record" perhaps? The mail in the hotel room still puzzles me.

It's not the first time.
AM also said BM moved to a condo in Pueblo.
AM also said BM had a landscaping job in Colorado Springs.
There have been more than a few times he either misspoke or was given the wrong information and repeated it.
No shade on AM, it's just the way it is.

Yes, it's important to fact-check when AM says something. He doesn't mean to mislead, but he does get confused at times and misspeaks as a result. I suspect the timeline, whatever it actually is, has had various 'misspeaks' over time, which is why it's so confusing.

IMO BM's liquidation of assets is because his future is uncertain and cash in the bank will allow him to tread water in a fluid situation.

IMO he is cash poor, spent the $ he got for his business + Suzanne's inheritance buying the PP house. He was bringing in $ from local jobs but who knows how much he was working and if he is still working.

I think it is fair to say his monthly expenses beginning in May have been trending upward and it is easier to manage your assets when you are a bird on a wire than when you are a bird in a cage.

I've been thinking (more like wishful thinking) the reason BM has been liquidating property is that he'll need big bucks for a defense attorney "sooner than later."

Or the balance due to the accomplices.

If and when the PP home gets sold I wonder what BM is going to do with all of SM's personal belongings.

He won’t need millions to defend himself. But he will need millions to disappear and never be heard from again. Argentina and Patagonia is kind of nice this time of year. He could ask Michele Traconis for referrals.

Take note that in the state of Colorado, the Moorman's have no standing to file a wrongful death lawsuit.

As SM has a spouse and dependents, GM's right as a surviving parent is void.

(We learned this in the Berreth case where Kelsey's parents filed WD suit on behalf of their granddaughter only as they had no standing to sue under the statute).

Probably what anyone does when they lose a loved one. Sit on things for while and eventually give family members an opportunity to take what they would like. People tend to need varying amounts of time. Some are quick and others hang on for long amounts of time.

Yes I wondered if someone would point this out.

A wrongful death civil suit against BM could end up costing the girls financially big time. Unless you believe the Mooremans are planning to sue Barry and give whatever is left over to the girls, which might end up being less than what Barry was planning to leave for them in the first place.

Her father and siblings can't sue. It has to be the daughters (or BM against some other party).
