I may be a little dense here but, what are these "readings" this guy keeps referring to?

I just assumed he meant their readings of the situational environment, i.e., their take on who and what was around them.

I don't know anything about this particular group, though, so it's hard to decipher the context of their statements.

Kind of like the PE guys, and their teasers which they never actually explain, e.g., "Think of the number 5," et al.

Yeah well I don’t believe he is innocent. So let’s change the word to story. If your loved one is missing, you tell LE what they want to know about where you were. You don’t lie. And anyone with common sense would know LE is going to checkout exactly what your “story”is.

It's not hard to believe at all if you consider the possibility that he was rushed, panicked, possibly suffocating with guilt (that, "oh man, what have I done?!" kind of guilt), and trying to act like Joe Cool all at the same time, while trying to come up with an alibi. Not that it worked, according to MG who said he sounded frantic, not like himself, "just had the worst night of his life", etc. that Sunday morning when he phoned her about getting the crew together for Broomfield.

From that perspective, the sloppiness makes sense.

Yes it does. Suzanne just had the worst night of her life on the last night of her life. So he may well have been frantic.

One would think, but we've followed enough cases here in Colorado alone to know that common sense plays virtually no part in the actions of most of these asinine killers.

I think BM was counting on LE biting into the bike ride narrative hook, line and sinker.

I also think BM is accustomed to people taking whatever he says at face value, without fact-checking it.

He took it for granted that his account of SM's MD bike ride would not be questioned, most likely because his accounts have never been questioned in the past.

That’s how I read him also. The good looking guy who talks smooth. Likely a good salesman. Everyone’s friend. Likely thought LE is this tiny mountain community couldn’t be near as smart as he is. They HAD to believe a mountain lion took Suzanne. Or maybe someone just abducted her. He sure never thought about anyone but Barry.

I wish we knew. The PE guys seemed confident that Suzanne was communicating with her friend throughout the afternoon and evening on Saturday and the conversation ended abruptly at 9:00 pm. Then later, AM clarified that it ended at 2:30 pm, and finally at 8:00 am.
Either way, I think it's enough to point to her being alive on Saturday and at some point during the day or night she was killed. That would explain the last minute rush to get to the jobsite a day early and calling MG early Sunday morning to get a crew together for Monday. Imo

Holy Crud.

JL said they were "under watch" today, i.e., being observed by hostile onlookers.

They intended to search 5 sites, only went to one and had to pull out of that one early, ahead of schedule, because people had scopes and eyes on them at all times.

They also mentioned that other people coming into the area have received death threats, but that they hadn't received any.

JL said they felt they had to stop, "because of the safety of our lives."

He went on to say they were only a couple of hours into the search when, "the team felt as though something was not right. It was unsafe….because of what they were seeing."

Obviously, they felt very threatened.

Sounds like BM might have been back on armed patrol duty today.

Re. these death threats, I can't imagine BM would do this himself; nor expose himself by letting searchers observe him holding a gun with a scope attached, pointed at them !

Eta : Or just spying on them with the scope or binoculars-- which is what I imagined was happening to these searchers.
I think by now most intelligent assessment, imo -- is that BM does not want searchers out there.
Very telling.

The guarding of his property with a shotgun could be brushed off (in his superior mind) as 'protecting his home.'.
But a death threat to searchers isn't going to be beneficial to him right now.
As in-- he can't be that stupid, can he ?

LS is still listed in her same job with the Fox21 News Team. She has her own YouTube channel now. This and all of her previous SM related videos are on it.

This video is interesting, but there is no evidence there. I personally would never hire LS to do any construction work, but fortunately for her she doesn't have to make a living that way.
