Was SM a member of an online DV support group? I don't remember reading that, but know I have missed plenty. In what context? Where was this learned? MOO

I don't believe there's any evidence that SM herself was a member of an online DV support group whereas there's evidence that she gave support to such groups via Church or Charity. For example, I recall a FB like by SM of an entity that provides services for recovery and abuse. MOO

Sheriff's release named 5 specific SM apps.
Is it possible LE is still waiting on one or more of those sites to provide some info LE subpoenaed? I hope not.

They state that Suzanne was last seen by her husband on May 10th. Does that mean that they confirmed his story that she was in bed when he left? Or that she was alive on Sunday morning?

At least now it's confirmed that she wasn't seen on a bike ride that day.
Not necessarily, depending on how you interpret the wording, as some here have claimed LE will carefully word statements to allow various interpretations.

They don't actually say SM was alive when BM last saw her, only that Sunday was the last time *he* saw her. So that leaves open the possibility that someone else saw her later than he did on Sunday, or that she was deceased the last time he saw her on Sunday, or alive when he last saw her. Quite possibly carefully worded to leave open several possibilities. But they do seem to shut the door on the possibility she was killed and hidden away before Sunday.

"In one aspect of the case, the task force continues to focus on Suzanne Morphew’s social media presence as part of the investigation. Investigators say Suzanne kept in touch with friends she loved dearly. They also believe that sometimes in these types of cases that people don’t come forward with information for concern that they may get someone in trouble. To those who may be fearful to come forward, they can reach out anonymously. Once investigators know your concerns, they can address them."

There is more to this case than SM's murder. IMO.

It is and that very encouraging. It feels like a final last push before a January 1st arrest.

He is specifically targeting her online friends. Also assuring people that he will work with them if they are afraid that they might get others in trouble. IE, he wants Suzanne's killer and maybe not so much interested in other illegal activity at this juncture.

I also wonder if he is speaking to members in the DV group, who are afraid that their spouses will find out they had reached out for help. Moo

I believe this is as much an appeal to friends and/or associates of BM that may feel threatened or made to believe they will get in trouble if they talk or come forward.

ETA: I also read two separate issues in the press release: social media, and those that engaged with SM. I think there's been much chatter on social media by those known to BM that may be afraid to implicate themselves, and CCSO is publically extending that branch and stating they will work with you.

From the Sheriff’s PR:
Suzanne Morphew, a loving mother, devoted friend and wife, was last seen by her husband, Barry Morphew, on May 10, 2020.

Normally this sentence would read:
Suzanne Morphew, a loving mother, devoted friend and wife, was last seen by her husband, Barry Morphew, on May 10, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. at her home.

Aside from leaving out the bike ride bit, leaving out the time and place she was last seen is IMO, very telling. They’re acknowledging that BM was the last to see her, but they’re not buying his story.

I recall that during the same PE session, Mike King, an avid, experienced hunter, put to rest for me that this was not likely a
"fresh" kill. (i.e., Antler shedding, the velvet dries (actually skin) and looks gruesome). MOO

Leaving something smelling of blood leaning against your home. Can't this guy be arrested for being a pure jerk?

Or.... there are people who think coming forward would violate an oath of confidentiality....

"Once investigators know your concerns, they can address them."

LE is firming up past behavior IMO.

I wonder what it's like to enjoy your freedom when you know what's coming.

Until today, I've never heard of Voxer.
Which is odd, since I follow cases where everyone uses social media & chat apps, and I have 8 kids that all grew up in the digital age and all use these kinds of apps every day. o_O

So then...

What is Voxer?
Voxer is a free app that combines the best of voice, text, photo and video messages for a powerful and personal messaging tool. Easily and instantly communicate with friends, family or teams at work – live or later. Voxer works over any 3G, 4G, or WIFI network in the world. Voxer is the only service that delivers voice live - so it can be listened to immediately - and simultaneously records the message - so it can be listened to later. Learn about Voxer

I'm curious, does anyone following use this app, or have you heard of it?

My thought in the latest press release screams DV. JMO

Voxer. Never even heard of it.

I wonder if Suzanne had a lot of "loving" (by which I mean controlling) monitoring of her SM... hence using more obscure apps? I wonder if any are routinely used for virtual support groups, like DV.

Yes, good point. BM has been intimidating everyone that could harm him, moo. He viciously attacked MG and JP publicly. That alone would make others think twice.

If only.....

Thx for pointing that out. Seen clearly by your old cop eyes!

I was wondering the exact same thing.

Perhaps one uses voxer to communicate in complete private (no cell records, as an example) with others.

Teens use it sometimes to keep conversations hidden from their parents. All my opinion.

Thanks for researching @Ontario Mom.

I think Voxer may be something helpful when you don't have cell phone service/coverage to leave a voice mail -- i.e., would enable sending your text as if voicemail.

Shiver. I'm reading up about Voxer, and I can't help but think this app is one of the ways BM controlled SM. Creepy IMO. It basically functions as a walkie-talkie while sharing location on your cell phone.
