Wow. Speeze is basically saying - we know everyone who communicated with SM via these apps, and you can come forward anonymously. That is by far the biggest tell they’ve put in a press release.

WhatsApp is a whole new ball of wax too. Maybe that is the app she used to tell her friends the truth about BM...
WhatsApp is too flimsy an app for real private communications. Voxer is heavily encrypted and all chats disappear ( for good) once you log out. In my opinion.

They probably don't, but I would think it would sure spook him that they are not mentioning any of the facts he presented and now wanting to know about her digital social communications, that has to eat at him and the thought I just had is, what if he just found out about some of the apps she used...

Good point. I think it’s very likely this press release told BM about some apps that he probably didn’t know SM was using. IMO

I thought WhatsApp was essentially the same thing (text only though). No?

Although I guess having 2 private, encrypted messaging apps at 50 years old is pretty darn telling regardless.

It's a free app, so it would never show on a cell phone bill.
Even if you had the app hidden on your actual phone, it will still show that you downloaded it in your google play store or the app store.

Ahh...see, that's what I was wondering. It still shows/leaves a trace. In this instance, on the google play app download. Depending on how much a spouse would have access to SM google play download list...as to whether or not he was aware of her using it.

BBM:

I love it when LE plays with BM's head.

"Task force assembled" = "You're outmanned and outgunned."

Also, the "Investigators say…." line is brilliant.

What do you figure the odds are that he had no idea SM used an app called "Voxer?"

Oh, man. I hope that's the case, because if so:

"SUR-PRIIIIISE!"

JMO.

I also love it when authorities play with the head of the alleged suspect!

I like public promises with the hint to protect you if you're afraid to come forward.

For example, two of BM's workers talked to the media and told us they also talked to LE.

We know that another worker refused LS/Fox 21 efforts (but is said to have an active social media presence where he shares).

I think all the hold-outs will be coming forward if not already-- and BM no longer holds anything over them.

MOO

Agreed.
I think that it's significant the LE named BM-- just him, and not the sandwich shop where some say she was seen, nor her friends/neighbors in that community.
By saying BM was the last to see her (and LE didn't say 'alive', sadly ), this debunks any sightings later that day whether biking or in town.

Although LE would like people connected to her SM-- from earlier in that day, or more likely from before the 10th -- to come forward.
They're turning up the heat.
Imo.

It is supposed to be but they had a big security breach last year. The vulnerability spooked a lot of users.

So why did an adult need some of these more secretive type of messaging apps? I don’t think it’s common for an almost 50 year old woman to be interested in these more teen oriented types of private messaging tools that are known to hide messages from parents. Was he controlling her phone and reading her texts so she had to ensure some privacy? This poor woman. And why the inquiry by LE about FaceTime? Could somebody have been on FaceTime and have seen something or heard something in real time? Jmo

Ita.
My .02 is that LE have nearly everything; except of course Suzanne herself. :(
I remember AM saying LE needed some more before they "...seal the envelope".

I think LE knows/may suspect Suzanne was talking to a man? The part about getting someone in trouble and the Voxer encrypted private chats ...
Maybe the "friend" Suzanne was supposedly talking to on Saturday was not a female?
I’m all over the place with this new release today but I have to admit this thought sure popped into my head as well. Also, release said someone might be afraid to come forward. If it was a male, and BM is not yet incarcerated, I’m sure he would be very afraid of exposure and of BM and his crew of meth heads and 400 tour cronies. There have been many cases where men become enraged and jealous when their spouse has relationships with men that may either be romantic and or platonic. I think a male friend is a possibility. Jmo

I'm close to Suzanne's age (a little older). I have SnapChat, WhatsApp, and House Party on my phone. I use SnapChat regularly and love that I can text (and videochat) back and forth and it doesn't hog up my memory. My cousin is a high school teacher and she keeps me pretty current. Suzanne had high-school-aged daughters - it's possible they shared these apps with her. There seems to be a lot of assumption around the fact that if she used these apps it was to hide communication from BM; I'm just saying that is not necessarily the case. Sure, it WOULD be hidden from him, but it wasn't necessarily the reason for her using the app.

To be clear, I am not sitting on any fences, but we can't make assumptions about the information we learn.

I think if anyone is afraid to come forward, it’s not out of fear of BM or his friends. In cases like this, it generally has to do with with the personal price (media attention, and secrets being exposed).

Anecdotally at least, it seems to happen all the time.

I know this is a stretch but....
Could BM still have SM's phone, sans battery, and CCSO is publishing the names of these apps to get him to turn it on to try to find these hidden apps, to trace it back to him. I don't really think so but I'm just reaching!

ITA. I also think that you can never have too many witnesses that will back up primary witnesses. A jury is more apt to be persuaded by testimony that is sworn to be true, by multiple people. Moo

I highly doubt it. Suzanne’s phone likely left that house when Barry did, and very likely, at the same time Suzanne’s body did.

I think it’s long gone.

I made this argument recently that without a body, we need not some evidence but multiples of the circumstantial evidence that's out there and/or available to convict the defendant beyond a reasonable doubt. MOO

I was looking at SM’s twitter account. Her posts were made using an iPhone according to Twitter. The last post dates back to 2017, I think she was probably still using an iPhone.

Yep. They need to stuff their envelope.

It seems like she was very afraid, and not just that weekend. :(
For how long did she have to resort to hiding from BM's wrath ?
Imo.

From the CCSO:
“Investigators say Suzanne kept in touch with friends she loved dearly. They also believe that sometimes in these types of cases that people don’t come forward with information for concern that they may get someone in trouble.”
This wording tells me that these friends are back in IN. We know LE has made numerous trips to Indiana as part of the investigation. They ask people to come forward whether they have been interviewed before or not. I think they know some of these people have been holding back. Perhaps the bff that SM was talking to on Saturday told LE that she is not the only person that SM had been confiding in.
Perhaps one of SM’s daughters confided in a friend of her mother’s in confidence and that friend doesn’t want to get the daughter in trouble with BM.
And the other elephant in the room. Was one of her friends that she “loved dearly” a male? This doesn’t necessarily mean SM was having an affair. If she turned to a close male friend in confidence, that would probably set BM off. I’m pretty sure BM has the type of personality that just wouldn’t allow male friends. If there was such a person, he might be married. Even if the relationship was platonic, he knows people would tear him apart and he may not want to admit to it.
LE was sending a message to certain persons with this PR and those people know who they are. Will they be willing to step forward and take the risk to tell what they know?
