Hi just wanted to chime in on the Voxer thing. My sister is close-ish to Suzanne’s age and in sort of a similar demographic and she and all her girlfriends use Voxer. They think it’s fun- I have never understood why. She has tried to get me on board with it.

Just pointing out that it may just simply be a fun thing she and her friends got into and stuck with using.

bbm
Ita.
My .02 is that LE have nearly everything; except of course Suzanne herself. :(
I remember AM saying LE needed some more before they "...seal the envelope".

RBBM
Yes I remember that as well. And iirc, AM also stated, I believe on one of the local CO news outlets covering SM case, when asked by a reporter what he thought happened to SM-

I believe this was Domestic Abuse to be honest with you. (paraphrased)

Telling.

IMHO

Now that we have a new press release, maybe BM will reach out to media to complain about LE and the investigation and cover his butt. Every time a new bit of info comes out, it seems he feels a need to explain it away.

WhatsApp is too flimsy an app for real private communications. Voxer is heavily encrypted and all chats disappear ( for good) once you log out. In my opinion.
Maybe Barry was using it?

BBM:

I love it when LE plays with BM's head.

"Task force assembled" = "You're outmanned and outgunned."

Also, the "Investigators say…." line is brilliant.

What do you figure the odds are that he had no idea SM used an app called "Voxer?"

Oh, man. I hope that's the case, because if so:

"SUR-PRIIIIISE!"

JMO.
Oh yeah!! If we’re interested in understanding how Voxer works can you imagine BM burning up the internet tonight?? :p

I think if anyone is afraid to come forward, it’s not out of fear of BM or his friends. In cases like this, it generally has to do with with the personal price (media attention, and secrets being exposed).

Anecdotally at least, it seems to happen all the time.
I was thinking “they” were threatened but your idea makes more sense - the notoriety that can come with this kind of case would be threatening to me for sure

Or.... there are people who think coming forward would violate an oath of confidentiality....

"Once investigators know your concerns, they can address them."

LE is firming up past behavior IMO.

I wonder what it's like to enjoy your freedom when you know what's coming.

JMO
It’s possible that LE is reaching out to SM’s daughters, who may be fearful of coming forward to tell LE what they know.

Quite frankly, after six months of learning who BM is I'm sick of him. I can't imagine how Suzanne tolerated him for all those years.
I'm encouraged by the release today, tik-tock and I don't mean the App ... :D
RBBM
You are not alone! When I see a ss of his face during his 26 second “whatever that was,” I want to chuck my cookies!

Having said that, I completely understand why Suzanne stuck it out. So many of us do/did because of our religious upbringing. Always forgiving and praying and hoping things get better, but they don’t. Why? Because only 1/2 of the equation is working to make it better. And, of course, it’s the BETTER half! So sorry for her family :(.

I thought WhatsApp was essentially the same thing (text only though). No?

Although I guess having 2 private, encrypted messaging apps at 50 years old is pretty darn telling regardless.
We have to use whatsapp because where we live here in the sticks, there is v poor cell phone signal. I.e.,we can't text.

But I never heard of Voxer and dont know why you would need that as well as whatsapp, unless as it seems secrecy was key.

Voxer could be a decent app for Barry to use-it seems to be good for on the go messages, where you don’t have to type or spell. It might be a good one if you are on the road hauling around a bobcat and don’t have time to text. I think it could be good for work applications like Barry’s business. I have also seen that bible study groups, and some life coaching types seem to like it. Lots to unpack.

Forget about BM for a second- what are some reasons LE would continue to return to Indiana in this case, the hometown of the Morphews, when they have resided in CO for two years. IMO

I’m all over the place with this new release today but I have to admit this thought sure popped into my head as well. Also, release said someone might be afraid to come forward. If it was a male, and BM is not yet incarcerated, I’m sure he would be very afraid of exposure and of BM and his crew of meth heads and 400 tour cronies. There have been many cases where men become enraged and jealous when their spouse has relationships with men that may either be romantic and or platonic. I think a male friend is a possibility. Jmo
Yes, I've also wondered if BM suspected Suzanne was communicating with a man on SM on Saturday and was looking at her account for "evidence." That might explain the mysterious "friending" of several men Andy's age that allegedly occurred that night.

BM also suggested someone close to Suzanne may have been responsible for her disappearance.

Good question.
I asked my 17 yr old if she's ever heard of Voxer, and she looked at me like I just grew a second head.
Nope, she's never heard of it & her friends don't use it.

If you search here on WS all the bazillion (roughly) cases in all the years we've been here, this app is only mentioned in 5 other cases besides's SM's.

So, it's NOT at all well known.

I suppose it's possible this app was suggested to her by someone (counsellor, friend, daughter?), to keep her messages strictly private.

jmo
Or to keep the friends conversations private.

I was thinking the same thing but I couldn’t get it out as easily as you did. All those apps mentioned are the most curious to me after the press release. Then the mention of the weird fb friending Saturday night.

If it was a friend that was dear to her that leads my thoughts back to Indiana. Jmo

Maybe they are interviewing a few of her close friends, or people who have known both of them for a long time to gain more insight into their marriage. Most of her closest friends that she communicated with online are probably from Indiana.

Just say it was a man that SM was talking to and BM murdered her out of rage and jealousy. It sure would explain this statement he made about Suzanne:

“Suzanne trusted the Lord and if one person got saved from this, she would think it was worth it.”

Was he subconsciously referring to the other man being saved from him killing him as well?

I could tell you, but it wouldn’t work out well for me. Use your imagination :)

These apps are also very interesting within the context of covid. Obviously with stay at home type situations, the need to communicate via apps with people both in IN and locally is the way you’d do it.

IMO, with stay at home type orders in place, that is highly concerning for victims of DV. I wonder if these encrypted apps took the place of in person meetings once covid hit.
