Bleach is used to purify contaminated wells. I'm wondering whether any such well , disused or used is within the triangle he insists was fully searched by him and his friends? Long shot, I know and it's used for very many other purposes..
THAT is an extremely interesting idea - one that I had not considered, but one with merit. Hope someone has passed that along to LE who are working on the case, as it is something they may NOT have explored.

From looking at before images and after images of that location it looks like he just cleaned up what was already there...not any major change. It appears most of it was there from the home that was torn down. The rock retaining looks like a neater stack and the waters edge is cleaned up.
Afterwards less nice design than before - my impression. He has no feeling for the arrangement of rocks ...., IMO. Probably had something other in mind at the time.

Ah, they're pretty smart, they won't be depending on my longshots. Thanks all the same tho'.

It's unlikely he would have used the house well if he'd planned on selling it which I imagine he had.
It may be a thing of no consequence at all. The bleach.
Grasping at straws here, which I tend to do a lot.

I felt a deep sadness while looking at the photographs of her home, the kitchen she used to cook, the sink, the floors, the beauty of the views.
It was HER home.
Whoever 'took' her stole that with her life.

Here's hoping they don't ever get to enjoy the spoils of their evil.

It is interesting to note that in the the latest CCSO press release: Suzanne Morphew case remains a priority to the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office - Chaffee County Sheriff - that Sheriff S said that while working closely with both the FBI and CSI they are also working closely with the 11th Judicial District. Also, the only county KT had more votes that her opponent, LS was Chaffee County. I seem to remember that the Sheriff S did not endorse KT. Hopefully with the new DA there will be some movement on this case.

If his monthly mortgage is around 6K or even 4K ...he needs an ocean or a ski slope in his backyard to get that kind of rent via b&b IMO.
Or did he pay cash for it? Sorry I’m not up on the house purchase.
TIA.

MOO
No mortgage on the house.

Mixing bleach with rubbing alcohol makes chloroform.

RSBBM. The things I learn on Websleuths!

(Might come in handy one day. Bwa ha ha - evil laugh!)

If BM killed his wife, the end, then why do they want to dig into her social media activity so much, make it a highlight of a press release, then plea for friends to come forward. These are presumed adult friends, who SM loved dearly and 6 + months later (SM is still missing and presumed dead by many) LE has to plea to you in a press release to spill your guts, this was your friend?!

From my birds eye view, I’m pretty angry about that. LE is traveling back to IN several times, is it to plea some more? Enough, start truth talking, like my Grandma use to say.

IMO

IMO the plea for people to come forward and what little we know that has been released by LE via press conference and to Andy is orchestrated to let BM hear and respond. When watching real police interviews, they get a story then tell some info and see if the story changes to explain the new information. That’s often how they trap the mouse.

I firmly believe LE is looking for every tidbit of information to build a rock solid case to present to the new DA. I MO, the more details presented to back hard evidence, the less wiggle room for the defense. The bottom line is not a quick arrest, it is a conviction beyond a reasonable doubt.

Those of us who have followed cases for decades may understand the flags and clues, but to a juror who isn’t interested in crime as a hobby, would need a very clear picture to get to beyond a reasonable doubt. We have many jurors who get it right.
That Pinellas Couny jury was an anomaly. Too many jurors stood to lose out on important events they had planned if a guilty verdict and penalty phase happened. I felt the entire time they were serving that they took advantage of the judge. Right down to a hockey game, fancy/expensive restaurant, and the snack lady. AMOO

I thought that too.
I thought they threw in an additional app that he hadn't known about to put the frighteners on him good.
I wouldn't be surprised if he does something stupid in the near future, especially if he thought he had her fully controlled but now, not so sure.

MOD REMINDER NOTE - FROM PAGE 1 OF THIS THREAD:

A thread specific decision has been made by Tricia to allow members to discuss Barry Morphew and to speculate about him based on how he is being publicly treated by LE, information from MSM and other WS approved sources (except rumors). Do NOT sleuth him or his business and do NOT trash him.

Do not sleuth or make accusations against anyone else who is not an officially named POI/suspect.

Modern wells are generally about six inches in diameter. Not useful to a murderer unless *shudder*.

For perspective, here is a photo of a well recently drilled. The vertical pipe is 6" diameter. (personal photo taken by me not in Colorado, no link)

Also, since the house doesn't appear to be in the kind of development that would have its own water system, and no municipal system nearby, whatever well is on the property is likely in active use providing water to the home.

This was helpful to me

I was thinking about wishing well type wells I think

I think I have located the well at Puma Path.

I tried to screenshot but it came out too huge to post.

Look at the listing recently posted by @kittythehare.

Find the photo of the driveway and parking area.

Look to the left of the tree and you'll see a dark vertical pipe sticking up about two feet out of the ground. (There is a big rock to the left of the pipe, protecting vehicles from hitting it.)

A poster mentioned that well breadth too small to fit anything large, I should have known, I had one drilled here a few yrs ago.
It wasn't the well, it was probably the drains if it was used in the home place.
I couldn't see a drainage management item on the house stats...
here it's a tank in the ground or a connection to mains, not sure what is used in US.
The tank in the ground is plenty big and would fit any number of people.

That property was built in 2008. I imagine it has it's own drainage system.
Well done you finding that, I was staring at those photos all night and I never spotted it.

In most reasonably-densely populated areas in the US, there will be municipal water systems for fresh water, and municipal sewer systems for drainage.

But in rural areas each home would have its own water source (well) and its own drainage (septic tank plus leach field, usually).

The septic tank is often not visible -- it would generally be dug to access every so often for cleanout. Its location would be known by the installer and hopefully by the homeowner, and location of the house plumbing could help locate it, but it's often covered over completely except while being serviced, so I doubt we could locate it from listing photos or google aerials. Let's just hope that LE inspected it.

Nice well! Obviously a good installer / electrician, IMO

That is the same as it is here then regarding septic tanks.
Did you happen to see any reports they had removed items from the house when they searched?
I'm flashing back to Gannon's case, a little child, also Colorado, they searched several times and then one night they returned and they removed a substantial quantity of items..
I checked how long that new listing had been active, 59 days, yesterday, 2 months. I'm unable to recall date of searches but it was longer than 2 months ago, I think.. I'm not sure because I was playing catchup and trying to read every thread one by one before my eyes failed me and I skipped over to Nancy Grace for a synopsis/shortcut but I know I missed tons.
I never came this late to a case before and reading all the posts was extremely enjoyable...no stones unturned...that's what is great about Websleuths.
It is good to see the house interior and to get a sense of who she was and how it might have been for her living there, so far from home...
My heart went out to her and the sense of profound grief was almost overwhelming.. I felt myself wanting to make it right for her, that those of us who live have a debt to those taken, to make things right on their behalf. Sorry for rambling and all wild speculation on my part.
Nobody will buy it, it's beautiful but it's not right or righted yet.

I think it would be a long shot but good thinking of alternates. You only use at most a gallon of bleach per hundred foot of well depth, if its your typical 8" well casing. In that area the wells average about 400 feet. When the well water with bleach is flushed out it is not that strong of a bleach smell, although noticeable.
