Yes, I remember that!

Mention of it kinda got lost when there was a focus on some little saplings with a rock cairn, and it turned out that was on a vacant parcel near Puma Path house but not belonging to BM/SM.

We never did learn, I don't think, whether the little trees seen in the photo appeared to be planted there or were growing there on their own.

And then I don't recall hearing again about the receipt for trees.

Was it for a job? Was it for Puma Path house?

IIRC the owner of that vacant parcel doesn't live in the area. I think someone else could plant a few trees or otherwise mess around on that vacant land and probably not attract any attention, and even if the owner visited they might never notice a few more saplings.

Thank you @Auntie Cipation. I thought maybe I had missed more about the trees back somewhere through all of these threads.

Your posts have brought a few thoughts to mind. I am more and more inclined to agree with your Friday night theory. If we consider the possibility that the BFF was fooled into thinking she was conversing with SM when it was actually BM, all Saturday, is there anything else that doesn't fit with a Friday night murder theory?

I can think of two reasons why the Bobcat wasn't parked on the trailer.

One would be if the trailer had been needed for some other purpose.

Another would be if the last use of the Bobcat was there at the property itself.

Which brings me to something else that's been bugging me. If the yellow tape being tied to the Bobcat isn't intended to protect any evidence on the Bobcat itself (in which case I assume the tape would have gone AROUND the Bobcat without touching it), then what WAS the tape protecting?

It appears to be blocking the upper part of the path from the house/patio down toward the creek. So I wonder, is there anything unusual about that path? Did they find some of the rocks disturbed or recently replaced?

Presumably they didn't find SM buried there or we would know that, but perhaps there is something else of significance relating to that path?

If not, what was the purpose of that zig-zagged yellow tape?

MOO

I have thought really hard about Friday night. I think LE considered this, but backed away with “SM was seen later than previously thought”. It is also important that he asked MG to assemble the crew on Sunday. He talked with MG at 4am. He drove to her house to talk with her. He apparently was in (back in his house at 5am. He drove to the holiday inn and rested and took at shower. He left the room stinking of bleach. It was very strong he said in ab interview. If he was innocent he would have said he complained to the hotel management, but he knew that could be easily debunked. I am curious to know why he used bleach, a lot of it. I am very curious to know why his crew did not say they complained to the hotel management. Maybe they did, but they would most likely have mentioned this in their interview. “I complained and they switched rooms“.

I wanted to give the group something new to ponder. Growing up on a farm taught me a few things about holes in the ground. In most cases the dirt being dug is compacted. When you dig a hole, with hand tools or by machine, you loosen it up. That's why all the dirt does not fit back in the hole, even if you don't put anything in the hole when you fill it in. Now consider that you put a body in the hole (in my case, sheep, cows and pigs). First of all it has to be really deep, otherwise the whole area really stinks after a day or two. As you fill the hole in you have to compact the dirt frequently (like tamping it down with the backhoe bucket) until you are level with the surface. Now you have a lot of excess dirt. In a graveyard they mound the dirt on the grave for a while and let the spot settle, then take off the excess. On the farm, we would spread it out or scoop it up and use it elsewhere. Over time as the remains decompose and the dirt compacts with rain and settling, you end up with the classic 4 x 8 depression in the ground that is like a big red arrow with "body here" on it. So which sites allow the actor the time to bury the body and not have the risk of decomp gasses and settling becoming obvious over a few weeks, or months? One thing stands out to me, it is probably not a shovel and pickaxe job, it needed to be deep and compacted well, and it needed to be disguised so as not to draw attention. Even if the remains are in a container, the decomp gasses find their way out. One of the few exceptions to this would be a hole with the remains encased in concrete with a heavy layer over top. Someplace remote where heavy equipment can be used and the area can be checked for settling and filled as needed without anyone noticing. Of course all other options are in play, from a wood chipper to 55 gallon drum set among other like drums to be moved at a later date, or in a storage locker or junk yard. Keep firmly in mind the time the actor had available, the distance that could be traveled in that time and the time needed for the depositing of the remains. It's not a half hour job, even with a bobcat. A pre dug hole on a jobsite, unless it was for footers or something similar, would be remembered by others given the media coverage and LE activity. Lots to think about. Now get to it and do what you all do best...dig.

Seattle1 from article on post #309 said:
snipped by me...

“He was acting really weird about [the beach area], I was like Barry what’s up,” Gentile said. “He seemed stressed. He definitely seemed weird on Saturday.”

Wondering "what" his reply was to her question of "What's up?"....

Was this ever said in another article?

I can’t say I completely trust MG, and I think the defence will have fun cross examining her, but wow, is BM ever going to squirm when she takes the stand.

I've wondered what the answer was many times. As far as I know MG never elaborated.

Merry Christmas to you, too and a Happy Holiday and New Year to everyone!

This is just speculation on my part, but I suspect he may have discussed with LE putting out flyers, reward notices, etc. and that he was discouraged from doing so. That could explain his earlier comment that it was "too soon."

Yes, this and the statement, “It sounded like he had just had the worst night of his life.” How could you not ask, “What do you mean by that?” Or “What did he say that made you think that?” Ugh. So frustrating.

I’m just wondering why LE would discourage that? Sometimes they request that the public not conduct searches for different reasons i.e. preservation of evidence, dangerous conditions, etc. But it would be rare for LE to ask someone not to put up flyers on a missing person, offer a reward, or not join them in a press conference early on.

I will have to say that I found the reporter, LS, to have conducted herself in a professional manner and not in an amateur fashion.
Imo.

She is one of the few people to try to raise awareness for Suzanne.
She didn't ask BM to submit unconditionally to her request for an interview off camera and without BM's face/voice being used; but rather his spoken word to LS and relayed to the public in order to find Suzanne or answers.

I have to wonder why a person doesn't seem to want his voice or appearance shown ?
Would the wrong person recognize his voice or face ?
BM knows his heartfelt and earnest 25 second plea has been viewed by the public.
So what was it ?

If your spouse is missing and possibly kidnapped (one of BM's many scenarios) --why would you care what people thought about you ?
MOO
I didn't use the word amateur to describe LS's reporting skills. I have high regard for her skills and integrity as a reporter. Rather, that she is not a lawyer or professional investigator and that television news's existential need for stories of drama, conflict, and the sensational, and the brief time allowed for each story, results in something much less than a search for truth in most cases.

I think Barry read the responses to his early video and decided that reactions to his persona were a distraction for people, and he wanted them instead to hear his message, so he insisted on no video of him speaking. He wanted people to hear him say he had nothing to do with his wife's disappearance, not to parse whether or not he "looked guilty."

Thank you for clarifying.

While I can't vouch for the motive behind the news station with whom LS is employed, I believe LS has been significant in 1.) Poking the hornet's nest ; and 2.) Devoting time to raising awareness for Suzanne.
If I went missing I'd want her on my case and probing as much as would be allowed by LE.
Tbh I don't care for the way that family has treated her when LS tried to raise awareness.
(Not referring to Suzanne's side.)

Who knows what BM's motives were for insisting on a read-only interview ?
From the beginning his actions lean towards caginess and control.
He takes care in his appearance and presentation and doesn't appear to mind being on camera as long as it's under his control and direction -- ala the video plea and the TD interview.
Imo.

Since her disappearance, Tyson Draper has interacted with BM and we know how he feels. Andy Morphew has interacted with BM and we know how he feels. Lauren Scharf has interacted with BM, but I’m not completely clear on which direction she’s leaning, which is good reporting on her part, I guess. I believe each of these individuals approached SM’s disappearance with no personal agenda against Barry, and based on the information they were given, each formed their own personal feelings. I think the responses of these 3 individuals are a reflection of how a jury is going to respond when they receive the same information, and a lot more.

Thinking of Suzanne’s daughters, Andy, and the extended Moorman Family on this, their first Holiday season without their beautiful Mother and Sister, Suzanne, and Family Patriarch, Gene. It’s been a rough year for everyone with CV19, and to have lost 2 beloved Family members months apart is just devastating.
My heart really goes out to them all this holiday season. May they feel some peace and comfort knowing, that although Suzanne and Gene aren’t physically able to celebrate the beauty of the season with them, they are wrapping their arms around them/with them in spirit.

Happy Holidays to all at WS, and best wishes to everyone for a safe, happy, healthy New Year!! :)

Tree planting. In this short Dr. Phil rebroadcast clip, AM mentions the "tree planting" location as one place (of three) where cadaver dogs 'hit.' (Not sure this link is in the Media Thread as I still am having trouble learning how to search something like this effectively.)

The Broomfield job was originally completed by a crew of 2, was slated to be repaired by a crew of 2 and then suddenly required a crew of 4 (including Barry). The repair was due to mistakes made by Barry's crew so presumably Barry's company was going to bear the cost of repairs. Suddenly he went from paying one crew member (MG), to paying three crew members (MG, JP and CC?) for a job that was not billable.

MOO
And, according to BM, a crew made up of dangerous, inept, drug-addicted ex-cons.

I would like to know how the parcel with those trees even came to anyone's attention, to the point they even put dogs on the property. I understand the dogs weren't part of the official LE investigation but rather something done unofficially during AM's visit? I think? But that parcel, IIRC, was not previously on anyone's radar in terms of this case. So how/why did it become so, and what if any followup happened with regard to those trees?

Why would LE ever tell a family not to put up missing flyers? I can see possibly, maybe, sometimes a high dollar reward being discouraged as it can result in a lot of time and resource-wasting crazy tips but IIRC there was a reward offered fairly quickly. IMO it was “too soon” in BM’s opinion only.

He was in opposition to the Sheriff day one, why would he listen to them if they told him such a ridiculous thing?

MOO the puma thing is a crazy "Canned" Hunter spook story for the tentmates.
"The cat got her... and her body was never found..."

MOO It's him or an abduction. Abduction means flyers and publicity to try and get a clue. Any sighting of any oddness.

Crimes are solved with information, forensic and from people.
