I'm impressed with what I've read so far.

Hoping fresh eyes and new perspectives move this case along. Linda Stanley has already been sworn in as DA. New District Attorney assembles team, gets right to work – Canon City Daily Record[/
Thanks for posting. This is a great article. My hope is that they are referring to the Suzanne Morphew case.
“Additionally, Stanley met Wednesday with a team in Park County to go over a cold case that is expected to be moving forward “expeditiously.”
I’m not sure if this was the post you were referring to, @EggSalad. In one of the TD videos, he pointed out an area by the bridge that had been dug up and said LE had obviously been searching in that area. I don’t know how he knew that or if he just surmised it. My thought at the time was that maybe BM had parked there and dragged the bike along the north side of the river to the spot where it was found rather than having thrown it from the upper road. He did all his yelling about LE messing up the crime scene (from the road above, 225), by parking their cars anywhere, trampling the area, and letting 10 people handle the bike. It could be the classic deflection, Look over here, not over there”.@OldCop , what was your theory about the disposal route that was taken? I don’t remember the specifics but I remember it being very good and well thought out. I’d love to revisit in after a few months of addl developments.

The alleged helmet location has always bothered me. The personal item, believed to be the helmet, was said to be found on the west side of highway 50 to the west of the intersection with 225. If it was thrown by a driver heading west, he would have had to have thrown it up and over the roof of his vehicle with his left hand or else taken the risk to stop at the side of the road, gotten out of his vehicle, and walked over to chuck it in the underbrush. It was found on the Thursday 5/14, following SM’s disappearance. Why wasn’t it found days earlier when all the foot searchers were in the area? SM’s brother didn’t understand how he and his search party didn’t find it on Tuesday morning as that was the area where they were searching. (AM made specific mention of a friend of BM’s who was in his search party, who separated from the group, and who was later found back at the home where they were staying. He found this to be suspicious.) But, Tuesday also was the day that BM was out at night rummaging through the trash at the Poncha Market. What else was he doing that night, by himself, 2 days after his wife disappeared?
Looking at this map reminds of a trail of breadcrumbs. Follow them to the west towards Monarch Peak. Except you won’t find SM in that direction.
I’m inclined to agree with @Trackergd who believes that SM will likely be found in the area to the east and south of their home on Puma Path. There is a power line that parallels the road which runs to the campground. This would be easily accessible with an atv.

My opinion only, if BM involved, and not a stranger random attack, the trip to late night work at the Salida property to operate machinery long and loud enough to waken an elderly neighbor was intentional.@OldCop I hope LE dug around in that area, bc that's where TD saw a soaking wet BM coming up from. TD said that Barry was not sweaty, he was wet, like he'd been swimming, red and splotchy on his chest, frantic, distracted, and absolutely consumed with whatever it was he was doing that day TD ran into him. I'm a bit bewildered LE didn't do a thorough, day's long search in that area, but maybe they did and we just didn't hear about it.
Yes, I too remain VERY curious about what good ol’ BM was doing down there all soaking wet! Iirc, that was a few weeks after LE had searched the area when TD came a lookin’.@OldCop I hope LE dug around in that area, bc that's where TD saw a soaking wet BM coming up from. Great post as always, @susiQ !Yes, I too remain VERY curious about what good ol’ BM was doing down there all soaking wet! Iirc, that was a few weeks after LE had searched the area when TD came a lookin’.
Here’s a possibility. After he did the deed and hid SM, he needed to hide a few things, like her precious items that she wore each day and he wouldn’t part with. I mean we have learned over the course of the last eight months how important “property” is to him, real and I’m guessing personal. When LE immediately did not buy his morbid fairytale of the “cat” having dragged her and eaten her, clothing, shoes, bones, hair and jewelry, oh and let’s not forget the phone, and LE started digging around closer to home instead, BM got nervous and needed to know if they found what he had hidden. Something he couldn’t do “too soon.”. Since he was frantic, and very wet, I suspect he had placed whatever it was underwater until it was safe to go fetch it and/or move it. Since PP is for sale now, I’m guessing he has safely stowed it away somewhere else. Maybe instead of using the SAR dogs to locate SM’s scent leading away from the house, they should have tracked BM’s scent leading to the water instead.
.
Now, that also brings me back to that very strange search of a garbage bin at the Poncha market. Was he looking to retrieve the helmet as he needed to change gears with the abduction story? Throw LE a little bone in the other direction away from the waters edge? JMT
Sooo, can you all tell I have some time on my hands??![]()
Well, if they do believe everything he’s told them, they are obviously not reading here!Great post as always, @susiQ !
I am admittedly curious about what his own family members are thinking at this time.
Do any of them have questions ?
Surely they can't all believe everything he's told them ?

MOO if BM involved in SM disappearance and she was not victim of a random assailant, perhaps a chase occurred, and the perpetrator then constantly obsessed on items that might have been left behind and dropped in the river etc.Yes, I too remain VERY curious about what good ol’ BM was doing down there all soaking wet! That someone knows ? Or that she needs more attention?LE doesn’t agree with you.
BBMDoes anyone know how far from the leaning bike the blue helmet was found?
How far from the nearest rideable surface (road or smooth trail) was the bike when found?
Could it be that SM was biking other that on the highway?
Are there any who believe the killer cougar theory ?
How can that theory explain the positions of the bike, the blue helmet and the personal item?
