It's usually yellowish - green. Sometimes clear. Sometimes green.
Think vomit- it comes in all the colors of the rainbow- depending on what you've eaten, etc.
OT- true story. Had a pediatric ICU patient neatly and precisely fill the pocket of my scrub jacket with barf one night! You should have seen me trying to wiggle out of the jacket and not spill it! TMI - I know!
Thanks. I was just wondering if the fact that the fluids in the stomach being yellow/orange could have been from ingesting crushed amitriptyline, since some strengths are orange.
Your OT comment is just one of many reasons why I could never become a nurse. I might sometimes sound like I'm being hard on you, but I've said for many years that if you want to know what's really going on, you're usually better off asking a nurse or pharmacist than asking the doctor. My neice is a RN, and I wouldn't want her job for anything. MOO
