Coronation of King Charles III - 6 May 2023

I guess this is a good a place as any to post this! :D

He is trained to ignore tourists, hecklers, and bad weather. He was not trained for this. The Queen's Guard is famous for their discipline. They are forbidden from moving, smiling, or reacting to anything. But this local stray cat didn't care about royal protocol.
He saw the red uniform and the giant fuzzy hat and thought: "New scratching post." While tourists watched in shock, the ginger tabby climbed up the soldier's back, sat on his shoulder, and inspected the hat. Through it all, the guard didn't flinch. He didn't blink. He stared straight ahead while being used as a human jungle gym. The soldier deserves a medal for discipline. The cat deserves a medal for audacity.

:) I have an orange cat who likes to climb me too, just like this. I do react, though!

That training must be very hard to go through if you can resist a cat.

Thanks for posting this adorable photo- we need some light-hearted stuff--- because, as we know, most of what we read and then post is terribly depressing.
What an adorable tabby and kudos to that guy who didn't move a muscle- don't know how he did it!!!

"King Charles and Queen Camilla
formally welcomed Germany's President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Büdenbender,
as they began their state visit to the U.K.

I'm now looking at the photo above this post and envisioning a cat climbing up to one of the dignitary's shoulders or just rubbing against a leg.

These pictures lend credence to the rumour that Camilla has difficulty walking now.

Princess of Wales is doing the walking for her, it seems.

I can relate. Wish I had someone to walk for me!

Why does she have difficulty walking?

Hmmm... 🤔

Not so long ago
- in November -
I sent a DM link with Queen Camila
walking briskly
to the station where she paid tribute to fallen heroes during Remembrance Day.

Was it a video or stills of her standing on the platform?

I don’t recall but I do remember your photos.

Also, this must be a first where there have been welcoming stand ins for the King.

RSBM

Not really.
P&P of Wales welcomed American President DT at the airport recently too.
I sent links to Kate's thread some time ago.

I guess PW as the future King is being introduced to these functions.
As is Princess of Wales.

Queen Camila seemed all right during Armistice Day in November.
To me, that is 😁

And, neither the King nor Camilla are up to it.

I have noticed that the last few times the King walked to the church at Sandringham, Camilla was not present during the walk.

Perhaps she got a ride.
