The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ordered all state courts to shut down by the close of business Thursday until at least April 3, although the justices laid out numerous exceptions, including hearings for emergency bail review, protection from abuse and emergency petitions for child custody.
The high court also temporarily halted evictions.
Erie County President Judge John J. Trucilla said he planned to meet with other court officials Thursday to discuss the details of what a court closure will look like.

Beginning on Thursday,
the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will reopen select rest areas across Pennsylvania for truck parking.
PennDOT rest areas were closed at midnight Tuesday in response to Gov. Tom Wolf’s mitigation guidance regarding COVID-19.
To address safety concerns, PennDOT has identified 13 of its 30 rest areas in critical locations that will be available for truck parking starting Thursday.

Home Depot stores nationwide on Thursday will adjust their hours to close at 6 p.m. daily, company officials announced in a statement. Opening hours will remain unchanged.

Adjusted hours will allow staff to restock and perform additional cleaning and sanitizing of stores, the statement said.

Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration confirmed Pennsylvania’s first COVID-19-related death on Wednesday. The person who died was an adult from Northampton County who was being treated at a hospital.

Marquette Savings Bank will close its lobby services beginning Thursday.
Customers will still have full access to their money and can use the drive-thru windows, online and mobile banking and other options, such as ATMs and debit cards.

Erie Arts & Culture has formed an emergency fund for artists who have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak. Artists can request up to $500 in aid from the new fund.
