Very important question before I forget...

White House Dr. B made direct references to “surface transmission” and “hard surfaces” today (completing her thought from the other day that she did not get to finish).

What do we know about concrete? Making note. Anxious to catch up.

A neighbor of mine works for Vons supermarket. She said people are coming in and doing “hurricane sneezes”. WITHOUT COVERING.

What. The. Hell.

I posted something about a grocery store worker, maybe this morning, I think maybe it was Trader Joe’s, or maybe it was a Whole Foods article from earlier, anyway she said he/she was scared to death to go to work, iirc moo. Something along those lines. Did he/she use the word “land mine”? Maybe my imagination. Might have been the other night.

Sorry my sense of time is getting a little wonky here in Day 10.

Oooh, that is the best emoji. Bring back the emoticons!!! We need the flowers and the backwards bicycle again. We need a stomping out the virus emoji.

I very much appreciate the facts that you are delivering. But I do insist on clarification regarding the symptoms. The studies you gave me did not suggest that bowel issues were a symptom. Instead, they suggest that evidence of the virus can be found in fecal material.

It's really important that people are not waiting for bowel symptoms before they suspect they may have Covid-19. Bowel symptoms show up in less than 3% of the cases.

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) – Statistics and Research

Yet - there will be people who think that if they get GI symptoms, it can't be CV19. But it can - in 3% of known cases.

We've really emphasized dry cough, respiratory symptoms to all the kiddos and students.

MAYOR OF NYC

The only force that can do that quickly and effectively is the US Military. They’re being sidelined when they should be called to the front.
THIS is the front right now.

We need the US Military where they can save the most American lives and right now that’s places like New York City.
And soon it’s going to be a lot of other places.
Mr. President, give the order

But if they COUGH, you are out of there fast! Admit it, it's "Hello, but don't kill me". Sorry, couldn't resist a joke. :p It's five-days-inside type humor.

Absolutely. But no one has thus far in the last few days I’ve walked. But I’m veering SUPER widely around little kids because they can’t control themselves.

However, my ex shopped for the family and saw a mutual friend of ours in the store. They talked for a moment. The friend had brought her baby in. Who sneezed.

Luckily my ex was pretty far and got even farther after that. Our friend said “the baby is sick. He has an earache.” Then why the hell bring him to a store? She has a husband who works from home. That wasn’t a necessity.

This stuff is why this spreads so much. Lack of common sense.

FLORIDA

CLEARWATER — The City Council voted on Wednesday to close public access for two weeks to Clearwater Beach, one of the nation’s top tourist destinations, as a precaution to stem the spread of the coronavirus.

"This is an opportunity for the number one beach in the country to say that we value public health,” Clearwater Mayor George Cretekos said. “Don’t kid yourself because we’ve only got (10) cases in Pinellas County. It’s going to go up. I don’t want it to come back and haunt us to say it happened here because Clearwater was not willing to stick its neck out and and be a leader.”

Clearwater Beach will close for 2 weeks starting Monday, breaking ranks with Pinellas

And how does the “Church” of $cientology feel about that? They’ve been telling people to take advantage of time off work to get down to the local org and git themselves sum awditin’.

I know in the "big picture" this isn't important, but I have a sad young man in my house tonight as he just learned that his high school production of "The Wizard of Oz" has been cancelled. He had been cast as the Cowardly Lion.

This comes on the heels of his state competition being cancelled in which he had received 3 superiors at the district level and was to compete at states in all 3 areas: solo vocals, duet vocals, and duet acting.

He understands that other people are experiencing losses much more significant and he understands that the world is in turmoil, so he is keeping perspective, but in his personal world, this makes him sad. And as his mom, it makes me sad for him.

Hugs to you and your son. Of course he’s sad. :( He would be abnormal if he wasn’t. It’s OK to be sad, even when others have more significant losses. There is always someone who has it worse, but that doesn’t negate our own disappointments and even our serious trials. It just keeps them in perspective, and it sounds like your son has that balance (thanks to you, I’m sure). I for one would have loved to see him playing the Cowardly Lion! I’m sure he would have been wonderful. And I suspect he has many more performances ahead. :)

My state, Virginia now has 77 positive cases and only 2 deaths so far. Thank God. West Virginia has a new positive today, so now two cases in that state.
