They are only stopping cars and asking them to self-isolate and then sending them on into Texas. Most states (except Florida) are self-isolating. No one is arresting anyone at the border.
Yes... They are being sent into a 14 day self-quarantine. ...........Texas will only punish them if they break their quarantine.<modsnip>

IMO A lot of people need to see these pictures. They need a wake up call. There are a few people I might send these picture to.
Don't get your hopes up. For some, evidence that is contrary to their world view or opinion or feelings is ignored and/or attacked. That tendency has been around for ages.I think that behavior is more frustrating now because it's life and death related. IMO

I noticed that journalists with long hair are constantly pushing hair away from their face, when outside and wind is blowing, it might be a good idea for people with long hair to tie it back for now, less instinctive face touching to move hair away.

Ita!

I think they should wear their hair away from their face, but not only them. Imo, everyone who has longer hair to some degree should do this whether women or men..

It sure cant hurt since the airborne droplets could land on their hair then the hair falls into their face, and like you said they use their hands to brush it back off their face becoming possibly contaminated.

I think the term "self-quarantine" is tripping you up. If this were mandatory, the word "self-" wouldn't be the adjective chosen for the action.

Doesn't matter where I'm from. The friends are from a TX city where there is a stay-in-place.
I’m in a TX city with a Stay Home/Work Safe order. It allows for outdoor exercise etc. This past Saturday, I went to my bank and saw a packed dog park and walking/biking trail head entrance.
The parking lots were packed and people were not following the 6 ft distance guidelines.
I have wondered about that, with all the spring storms. What a loss it would be to lose entire freezer/refrigerator contents after stocking up if power goes out and stays out for awhile.
Yeah it would be horrible to lose all that food. At least Home Depot and Lowe’s are open to go purchase a new fridge.

I think the term "self-quarantine" is tripping you up. If this were mandatory, the word "self-" wouldn't be the adjective chosen for the action.

You're also supposed to "self-" refrain from murder but if you don't do it, the state will take action against you.

Once there is a penalty for not doing something the state asks you to do, it is no longer voluntary. This is not BAD or MEAN or DRAMATIC, it is within a state's policing power. Exercising emergency powers during an emergency was explicitly addressed by the founders in many founding writings so pretending it is not American is weird?

A provision in the order allows for DPS special agents to check on those under quarantine to make sure they're complying. Violators could be subject to either a $1,000 find or 180 days in jail, according to the four-page document. Another rule states that if a driver is showing symptoms associated with COVID-19, such as fever, coughing or shortness of breath, a trooper will follow them to their destination.

Thank you.

I need my daily dose of Cuomo. He makes me feel better, even if it's just for a little while.
He is supposed to speak any moment now according to MSNBC. FYI.

Not tripping up lol.
Any covered person exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 shall be escorted to the designated quarantine location by a DPS Trooper.

Our Texas Troopers don't mess around. That's why Texas has doubled our hospital bed capacity in a week, and we have a 98% bed capacity for Co-Vid patients.

This reminds me, there was a man in Seattle who was supposed to be quarantining in a motel iirc, awaiting test results maybe, but then jumped on a northbound bus...I wonder if he was ever found?

This is an incredibly generous act.
The whole town must be crying tears of relief and release.

That is terrific.

My employer is paying for testing at the State Fairgrounds in Detroit, MI.
