But I agree with you, I just haven’t seen him putting anyone in danger. He was stood outside, on his own when he took his mask off. It’s like wearing a mask when your in the car on your own - what good is that going to do?
every single time we have seen him around other people he’s had his mask on. I really don’t get your issue. Who exactly has he put in danger here by standing on a balcony on his own without his mask on???
Do you mean since he revealed his diagnosis? Because before that he’s repeatedly been seen without a mask around others.
And he walked into the whitehouse without his mask.
There is zero equivalency to walking into a mansion FILLED with staff and associates and driving in a car alone.
But more than that it’s the message he’s sending.
Surely you notice how hard it is historically to convince people to take measures to ensure their own safety, the safety of their children and of others. It’s why, as I have stated previously, we have public health campaigns and laws to prevent certain things. Like shooting guns in the air. Driving drunk. Smoking around others. Etc.
We see the same thing here. It is very hard to get people, even reasonable people who want to do the right thing, to wear masks when necessary and to wear them properly. It’s difficult.
And yet not only do we have multiple leaders and role models in this nation failing to model correct behavior, they’re actually MOCKING it.
The president lost a great opportunity to visually demonstrate the necessity to take this seriously and who to protect others.
It is hard enough to get the public to do the right thing even without partisan politics muddying the waters.
You know I do agree with the thought that we shouldn’t walk through life shuddering in fear. Everyone has the right to take risks that they feel are reasonable in order to be able to fully live, to enjoy life, explore, learn, protect. So people ride dirt bikes. They ride motorcycles. They dive. Rock climb. Surf. They join the military. The join Doctors Without Borders. They fly in rockets. They conduct dangerous experiments. And on and on.
Not wearing a mask while not socially distancing is none of that.
I take risks that my family doesn’t appreciate. Hiking in the canyon at dusk in areas where mountain lions and coyotes live, for example. That’s my right to make that decision.
But I don’t do it while wearing a meat suit and I don’t do it while wearing a meat suit and taking whatever I have attracted into your house.
That’s the difference.
Too many can’t follow basic safety rules. He is sick and should model that a mask is crucial. Not defiantly take it off while walking into a building packed with people.
