So, I'm glad he's back to work, and I hope he's not in pain. There are more debates coming, and I kind of hope one (or both) of the candidates do what Jaime Harrison did in his debate against Lindsay Graham. While he certainly knew his stuff, maybe that plexiglass gave him a little extra confidence. I certainly feel bold and fierce in my face shield, lol :)

Looks like VP candidate Harris will use the plexiglass like Harrison did. The Latest: Harris-Pence debate will have plexiglass shield

There will be plexiglass installed by the Debate Commission at the debate between Vice President Mike Pence and VP candidate Senator Kamala Harris Wednesday evening. Quoting the link:

But the decision by the commission to enhance safety measures at Wednesday's debate was met with mockery from Pence's team.

"If Sen. Harris wants to use a fortress around herself, have at it," said Pence spokeswoman Katie Miller, who herself tested positive for coronavirus in May.

I doubt Mike Pence as head of the Coronavirus task force would make a statement this disrespectful, but politics aside, unless he disavows Ms Miller’s snark it sounds like Harris is the adult in the room.

What medical facilities does the White House have now that Trump’s leaving the hospital?

The White House Medical Unit, headed by the physician to the president, has a full team of doctors, registered nurses, physician assistants and medics, according to the U.S. Army.

It has “private examination rooms, basic medications and a crash cart for emergency resuscitation,” according to the network.

Doctors can also perform emergency surgery at the White House, the Army says.

“It’s like a mini urgent-care center,” said Dr. E. Connie Mariano, who served as a White House physician from 1993 to 2001, CNN reported.

Yeah, really. Send a public health nurse post-haste. Hygiene 101.

He is close to two photographers and then entered the building with his mask off. There are staff waiting inside. He is contagious and should be wearing a mask at all times, especially when indoors.
What is going on? He looks short of breath and in pain here:

I think he has a look of defiance as he removed the mask and stuffed it in his pocket as if to say “I don’t need this stinking thing” JMO

Exactly this. If I shake my head anymore than I am, I’m going to get dizzy.

Well so far I’ve not seen anyone around him when he’s had his mask off  Until I see otherwise I’m not going to accuse him of “deliberately endangering and disrespecting” anyone.
Yeah of course the White House is empty and there are no secret service agents protecting our president? Of course there are people around

I don't feel helpless at all. I'm in total control of how to prevent myself from getting infected. JMO

I cannot even believe what I just watched! A grown man, diagnosed with Covid, returns to a building FULL of staff (who have families of their own they want to protect) without a mask. Flouting his “decision” in front of literally the entire world. He has to know by now that it isn’t a frigging “hoax” because you can see he feels like the bottom of a shoe! But rather than admit to himself that he feels like dook and wear his mask to set an example to the people who still think it’s a hoax, he decides to pretend to feel well and strong. For what? How does that help anyone be responsible and wear their own mask? Does he think the average joe who gets infected by acting “well and strong” will get the medical treatment that the POTUS gets? I’m flabbergasted. Absolutely wordless! What in the everloving bleep?
Do we know that he walked into an area 'full of staff?' Could they have blocked off an area for him to return to, in which others would not enter at this time?

I have another take to add to the list of speculation about the President as he stood at the top of the steps before entering the White House. Who knows about his breathing or if he was in pain, for me, I thought that his watching and waiting for the helicopter (Marine1) to leave was a very emotional moment for him. The whole transition from the hospital to back home had to be very emotional and somewhat overwhelming to make all these transitions over the last week or so.

I felt the emotional weight of the moment, just watching it on television! So for him, I have the greatest empathy, and wish him a comfortable night and homecoming, and improved health each day ahead.

Maybe he's remembering that he lost a couple of beloved friends, including Herman Cain. Maybe he will see Herman's smile in the face of a Secret Service agent or housekeeper or his own wife and children and vow to use his power to protect the innocent, as all good men should.

They had plenty of time to prepare for his arrival and I'm sure that staff has made adjustments to avoid any close contact with the President. JMO

It is not you that I am concerned about, or those like you, it is all the people who are not preventing themselves and those around them from getting infected that are the big concern.

The spreader event at the White House is a perfect example.

We are just going around in circles unless we all can understand that many need good and consistent leadership - and perhaps some sensible rules - to promote the country's good health and recovery.

He’s the president! No way is he in a room anywhere without secret service mere feet away. Even if they put him in through a tunnel to his destination room inside the WH, he still went in that door and blew his aerosols all over the place. It’s 6 feet when just breathing. If he’s hacking and gagging and sneezing and wheezing, it’s further than 6 feet. That whole room is contaminated now. They can’t vacuum it out of the air before they open the door. This is how this horrific virus spreads. By irresponsible people like him. And when he obviously feels like crud, he’s past “irresponsible” to remove that mask and keep up the mindless facade. There isn’t even an adequate word I can think of to describe how infuriating this video is to see. This is our example of how to beat this virus. A guy standing there, infected, gasping (even with the BEST medical team and care) and ripping off his mask. It’s a giant finger given and I’m livid at him. Livid.

I believe he has people there that met him - of course I have no way of knowing this but my common sense and prior White House tours - there are people everywhere in the White House and his continued arrogance of no mask behavior signals to me he does not believe how serious it is STILL- because how would he know the hall would be empty and therefore safe to remove the mask? He did not and the SS has to be near him - it was a gesture but if there was a camera in the entryway or someone who shot a video I would love to see that he cared enough to put the mask back on just in case he encountered someone

And I feel we are back again in March with the mask no mask debate... IMO

A reminder that COVID-19 is contagious. The responsible thing to do is to wear a mask as often as humanly possible so as not to endanger anyone else. Especially when confirmed as infected.

They don't have to be standing in his same room at this time. There are ways to separate those with the virus from those with no virus. Especially in such a large building.

Me too and I’m going to scroll and roll because I believe this is egregious behavior we will never beat this virus as long as this is acceptable behavior IMO
Thank you for the reminder @WildOrchid

I sat in close proximity to two maskless, now COVID positive, White House staffers at last Thursday’s briefing. So I am now working from home & getting regular COVID tests.

If we can get through to Monday? If? What??? How do you say, "If we can get through Monday" then let your patient walk out the door??

Covid-19 Live Updates: Trump Returns Home After Downplaying Disease, but Doctor Says He Isn’t ‘Out of the Woods’

After spending three nights at the Walter Reed medical center, President Trump returned on Monday evening to the White House, where he will continue to receive treatment for Covid-19. His physician, Dr. Sean P. Conley, had said earlier in the day that the president was not “out of the woods yet.”

“We’re looking to this weekend,” Dr. Conley said. “If we can get through to Monday, with him remaining the same or improving better yet, then we will all take that final deep sigh of relief.”
