CoVid may cause male infertility (Israeli study).

The study says 18% of men who have had CoVid may have issues - but they only studied moderate and severe patients. So some number smaller than 18% is likely.

Tonight, all but three European nations have reached what is called their crisis threshold with CoVid.

This is a Forbes article.

Paris is in maximum alert (it's really gone sharply upward). They're including UK (also sharply upward - with some areas as critical as Paris).

They are speaking mostly about strain on medical resources and the fact that hospitals are having to move resources from routine procedures and beds to CoVid.

I am hoping Mr. Pence is okay for everyone's sake, but I notice his left eye is very red. However, the right eye looks fine, and lots of people get broken blood vessels in one eye.

Agree...he didn’t look well tonight.

Ah...this is very sad.

It's so important not to delay testing (PCR type - the usually offered type that takes at least 2 hours - usually longer). The earlier a person can get treatment, the better.

If you suspect you've come in contact, isolate for at least 10 days and pay close attention to your health.

Some Secret Service already very unhappy with the situation.

From your link

The Washington Post reported late last week that agents "expressed their anger and frustration to colleagues and friends," explaining that Trump's actions had repeatedly put them at risk. "He's never cared about us," one agent told a confidant.

The report added that former Secret Service agents said it was unheard of for agents to openly complain about a sitting president, "but that some currently in the ranks had become convinced during the pandemic that Trump was willing to put his protectors in harm's way."

Well, it's a good thing they noted detectable levels of the Regeneron IgG Antibodies or I would want my money back. Guess his IgM is delayed?

Then why would the owner allow it to be open? That's on the owner. Very irresponsible. No way to run a business. Almost like the Texas salon owner who was arrested for defying a shutdown because she was "starving" or something like that but then hit the road to campaign in Michigan once she was allowed to resume her business. Starving people don't do that.
The salon owner rented out chairs to individual stylists. The customer would call their stylist to book the appointment. I think the salon was closed. MOO

If you notice, we are on the executive board of WHO. Might as well say that we are unhappy with ourselves. We are trying to promote evolving work, as an executive board member.

As I said in an earlier post, we followed the advise of our own health experts ... as a first world country.
As I would think all first world countries would do.
And we definitely support WHO all the way, as we all should do. IMO
Get involved, help make things better, provide our best help to the organisation.

But the prime minister described Australia as “a constructive but not uncritical partner”, acknowledging the value of the WHO’s work to help Pacific island nations deal with health challenges.

Why do you want to reform WHO if you think they are doing a good job? The article headline stated your leader criticised WHO.

"Scott Morrison has criticised some World Health Organisation responses to Covid-19, but Australia has used its ..."

I was answering your query but there are many other links about it all too. How long have you been on the WHO board?

Perhaps it is not understood that trying to evoke (some) change does not mean unhappiness. Critique does not mean unhappy. Maybe unhappiness means different things to you and to me.

I would say that, in general, we are super happy that there is an organisation that tries to help the under-developed nations. Has already helped vaccinate so many against so much. And will be leading the almost-worldwide effort to covid-vaccinate the under-developed countries.

And to be involved with that organisation can only help steer things in the way in which we want them to be.
Walking away from them does nothing to help.

As far as I am aware, there is only one 'country' that is unhappy with WHO. And it is not Australia nor Australians.

IMO

Australia and WHO have worked together closely for nearly 70 years. Australia is an active WHO Member State contributing to regional and global health through its leadership on a range of priority health issues, collaborating with partners and exchanging expertise to promote best practices and supporting WHO to be a strong and effective organization. Australia is currently home to 46 WHO collaborating centres that work directly with the Organization on a range of technical priorities.

Exactly. The President cannot compare his "Covid Experience" with the rest of the population. Who recieved little to no medical management until it was too far gone.
I agree.
OT @mickey2942 I just have to tell you how CUTE that little goat in your profile picture is! He makes me smile every time I see him (or her). :)

I am glad Australia/Australians are so happy with WHO. I was talking about Scott Morrison in my original post.

No worries.
ScoMo is not Australia, just as Trump is not the USA, and Boris is not the UK.

ScoMo has done a great job of dealing with covid, so far. But he has had to backpeddle and quiet down on a few things, one of those things being attacking China about covid. Many people here think he did more harm than good by spouting off - as opposed to handling that in a more mature and diplomatic manner.

Yep he was certainly busy ringing round all the world leaders early on.

Thank you. Because, sometimes you just need "Baby Goat Therapy". I have several of my favorite YouTube videos, that are just baby goats, running, frolicking.

This whole "Covid Time", has changed so much for so many of us. You need something to "ground" you. Because, it can be overwhelming. So, do whatever it is that makes you happy for a few minutes every day. Or pretend to be a baby goat.

So, another top medical expert is sidelined .. and has quit. Hopefully this isn't going to hurt the management of a vaccine rollout.

Bright is an immunologist who formerly headed the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, a department of health and human services (HHS) agency that works to prepare the nation for such threats as a pandemic or a bioterrorism attack. That agency is now playing a central role in the campaign to deliver a coronavirus vaccine.

Lawyers for Bright say he was sidelined at the National Institute of Health, where he had been transferred this spring after being ousted as head of a biodefense agency, adding that the NIH had ignored a national coronavirus testing strategy that Bright developed ....

The first time New Zealand thought it had eliminated the coronavirus from its isolated shores, a mysterious outbreak in its largest city shattered any sense of victory over a tenacious foe.

Now, after a second round of strict lockdown, the country believes — if a bit more tentatively this time — that it has effectively stamped out the virus once again.

On Wednesday, New Zealand moved to lift the last of its restrictions in Auckland after 10 days with no new cases linked to a cluster that first surfaced in August. The government will now allow unrestricted gatherings, and trips on public transit without social distancing or masks, in the city of 1.6 million people.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who is facing re-election next week, called the reopening a validation of the country’s “go hard, go early” response. The strategy is aimed at eradicating the virus with a swift science-based policy, one that trades weeks of lockdown and sacrifice for an emergence to full economic activity.

Covid-19 Live Updates: New Zealand Stamps Out the Virus for a Second Time

I see that NZ's covid response has been deemed to be the best in the world - by a long shot - by senior executives surveyed by Bloomberg.

New Zealand’s response to the coronavirus pandemic has been the best in the world and is the country that gives business leaders the most confidence for future investment, according to a Bloomberg Media survey.

The index scores New Zealand at 238, above second-placed Japan at 204 and Taiwan in third on 198.

New Zealand ranked strongly for political stability, the economic recovery, virus control and social resilience in Bloomberg’s market crisis management index, published on Thursday.

Italy confirms swab tests for travellers from four countries, and rules that masks must be worn.

.. health minister Roberto Speranza said on Wednesday, following growing concerns about rising cases across Europe.

"The infection rate is growing throughout Europe, and of course also in Italy. For this reason today we have extended the state of emergency until January 31 and masks must be worn outdoors. I have also signed a regulation that provides for tests for those arriving from Belgium, Holland, Great Britain and the Czech Republic. Today, more than ever, everyone’s contribution to stopping the virus is important."
