He’s got it wrong about the timing of the divorce (this man has done this in multiple interviews). He also got it wrong when he said MT had not yet been charged with a crime; she had been arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution before the interviews.

(ETA: Do defense lawyer analysts have an unspoken agreement with the defense attorney community to understate the case in relation to defendants?)

According to testimony from LA (the nanny), MT and FD appeared to be very well-known to each other at the waterski pond during the March 2017 family vacation in Miami and, after JFD left that vacation for home early ( after her mother broke her foot), FD moved out of the hotel where he’d been staying - where the kids and nanny were also staying, and where JFD also had been staying - and moved to another hotel, where MT stayed.

Also, JFD had earlier confided to the nanny her concern that FD was having an affair.

It was months AFTER that (June) that JFD moved herself and the kids out of the family home and filed for divorce. And I am still not clear whether this was June 2017 or 2018… does anyone else know?

So, no, MT didn’t enter an “estranged couple in the middle of divorce“ situation. It seems likely the marriage was an unhappy one as neither spouse was getting what they wanted from the other, BUT FD WAS CLEARLY HAVING AN AFFAIR and it came as an unwelcome surprise to JFD.

From My Notes: Fotis first met Michelle Troconis, a 42-year-old competitive water-skier originally from Venezuela, during a 2016 water-skiing trip to Miami with his children. She shared common interests (water and snow skiing). They quickly began a romantic relationship, MT moved from Florida to Connecticut with her daughter and became an employee of the FORE GROUP.

Jennifer found out about the affair in March 2017 and in June 2017 moved out of the family home and filed for divorce the day after that move.

Feel free to correct my understanding of this timeline!

Thanks!

So, what the nanny witnessed in Miami in March 2017 had been well underway for awhile. (And I vaguely remember some discussion that there was evidence they met sometime in 2015... perhaps something brought up in the civil litigation.)

FD was there with his entire family in March 2017... so, certainly MT knew he was still married and NOT estranged. In any case, I think the defense attorney analyst in the WFSB interview tends to provide multiple off ramps for MT that have the typical "defense attorney" bias.

Jurors, on the other hand, will make reasonable inferences not subject to that bias.

The forensic (?) accountant at the Farber vs Dulos trial (Nov-Dec 2019) indicated that FD paid for plane tickets for MT and her daughter in 2015. Remember Pattis putting his head in his hands....

So, the original plan was to “gone girl” her, & possibly stage a suicide at a predetermined location that no one other than MT is aware of.
Original staged suicide plan: FD & MT could then referencing back to her “disorder” and “instability” and say, see we told you she was a problem - & give me my kids. This was to get access to money via kids, then ultimately the Farber funds when grandma dies.
FD was short of funds, needed to pay back millions of borrowed money from Farbers. He had inventory of homes he couldn’t sell, employees and bills to pay.
FD does the drive & rides his bike to NC to start the “gone girl” plan, but he didn’t anticipate that Jennifer would not comply, his rage escalated into the bloody fight, and death.
Jennifer’s garage death was unanticipated, it was meant to be a staged suicide or just, never found. FD effed it up like he has effed up everthing else.
MT knows everything.

I hope this jury isn’t hoodwinked into thinking this defendant is hyper confused and can’t tell right from wrong due to her feigned inability to understand or comprehend the English language. Right from wrong or morality or just plane common sense (why aren’t I phoning the police right away about the recent and strange behavior of my boyfriend after his estranged wife went missing…oh that’s right, because I’d go to jail, too! Ahh!) is universal and way before we got to these criminal proceedings, she was very involved in hiding multiple funds and moving money (and cars) for places unknown to protect herself and FD in the FORE group civil case (FD gave MT 75K to purchase real estate etc.). Bad behavior is her thing.

She was a financial/criminal co-conspirator then and in my opinion, a murdering/criminal co-conspirator now. It still baffles me why the state did not pursue the financial shenanigans civil and criminal case related to FORE group (maybe too many offshore challenges & Rena and friends spent all of the assets)?

This "middle aged" lady is NOT innocent. She knows/knew exactly what she was doing and is just trying to twist everyone in the wind to confuse the facts.

Interesting theory.

Just curious…what do you think his plan was? Knock her out, then immobilize her with those 36” zip ties, then what?

@LosAngeles, I intended to insert your last post here, but made some kind of mistake. Anyway, this is in response:

She is like so many others of criminal mind - cunning, manipulative, selfish - playing other people's tendency to be generous and to grant the benefit of doubt.

When I read what some of MT's family members say to defend her, I feel a bit sorry for them as they are likely bamboozled. I think wisdom would instruct them to spend less time ignoring the evidence and more time counting their purse and their spoons after she has visited.

"Cunning is but the low mimic of wisdom." - Plato

In the interview played in Court yesterday, one particular question/answer perfectly demonstrated who MT is.

She'd laid out her beliefs about JFD's mental health based on what she claimed FD told her - in forwarding the theory that JFD had "gone girl'd" herself.

LE pointed out that JFD has five children. They asked MT whether she would ever leave her daughter like that.

MT responded. "No." And they asked why not, and MT responded, "That's not healthy. That's not what a healthy person does."

A normal mother would respond that it would be painful for their child; that their child needs their mother.

But, MT just talked about how it would make her look.

Yes, 2015 was what was discussed in the Civil Trial. Remember the Pattis head on desk moment. Probably one of the only moments I had a second of sympathy with his plight of representing FD....that feeling lasted less than a nanosecond but it was Courtroom GOLD! Thanks for this memory! MOO

I recall several years ago there was mention of a home in West Hartford that essentially butted up to the many acres of conserved land behind 4JC where they would dirt bike in the area of Reservoirs 3 and 5. That was the home I believe FD gave MT money towards a down payment for. I haven't heard mention of the home in some time. Does anyone remember it? One evening there were many, many police cars in the adjacent public area parking lot and access was shut. The home might have been on Sunset Farm Road IIRC. I looked it up at the time and it was most definitely in need of a renovation. It's odd I haven't noticed mention of it.

Yep!
And the "dirt bike" map drawing ( advertisement ) that MT showed to LE was the 'Look over here, ...squirrel..' part of the
"sticking to the plan". IMO

Do you know appx when this happened? I'm going back and watching some of the old hearings today and I'd love to try to find it.

Definitely doing that, right in line with the conspirators' plan which was dependent upon the claim: "JFD is not mentally healthy."

It was a wonder to behold, really...the times MT would say something (e.g, "KM was meeting with FD in the Fore Group Office") that no longer fit with the proven facts as LE revealed them (e.g., we know FD was not at 4JC, the house or the office), and quickly try to "schmooze" that account ("I saw KM there, at the table in the Fore Group office") to reconcile to the new information.

I just re read this in my notes:
Police said, “Mawhinney’s cell phone polled the tower in East Granby which appears to service the site of the Windsor Rod & Gun Club,” on May 31, at 11:04 p.m.

What was he doing 7 days after Jennifer's murder squirreling around a club he was no longer a member at 11:00 p.m. at night (and hadn't been for 6 or 7 years)? I realize he snuck in and dug a shallow grave, but nothing became of that, correct?

I wish we had a rolling timeline of these 3 people now that facts are surfacing and have been validated.

I think I remember the home you are talking about, painted bright white as I recall.. 2 story, with a covered patio at the second level to one side, and a daylight basement. The property sloped down from the street, so that at the street you looked down at the home. It was all white and gray inside, like other ForeGroup properties, but was more modest in square footage. I remember thinking, looking at the photos of the interior... I bet ForeGroup funded all the furnishings (that is, Farber $ paid to furnish Fotis' girlfriend's home).

I've looked through my notes and not yet been able to recover the address. Will keep looking.

After members of the Windsor Rod & Gun Club discovered the grave sized hole covered with BBQ grates (and with tarp and bags of lime inside) on 5/18/19, they took some action to ensure that no one would accidentally trip over the hole (removing the grates and kicking around debris so the hole was obvious). When one of those members rechecked the hole on 5/22/19, it was half-filled with water and the bags of lime were missing. When one of the members checked it again early June 2019, it was all filled in.

My guess is that KM checked the area between 5/18 and 5/22 and concluded that the hole was no longer a viable burial spot as it had been discovered and disturbed by others, so he removed the bags of lime. He was probably there on 5/31 at 11 pm to fill the hole in.

Here is the relevant section of Mawhinney's Arrest Affidavit:
